Liverpool vs Arsenal

, KO: 16:30 , Anfield
Arsenal

Premier League champions Arsenal will look to bounce back from their shock EFL Cup exit in midweek as they travel to Anfield to take on in-form Liverpool on Super Sunday.

Arsenal suffered one of the biggest shocks in both their own and in EFL Cup history in midweek, as they were knocked out on penalties by League Two side Fleetwood Town.

That shock came three days after the Gunners moved level on points with Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table, beating Everton 2-0 at the Emirates – on an afternoon I landed a couple of winners.

Liverpool, on the other hand, had penalty shootout success in the EFL Cup in midweek, as they knocked out Chelsea on penalties at Anfield following a 1-1 draw in regulation time.

Andoni Iraola also saw his side win 2-0 at home in the Premier League last weekend, defeating in-form Brighton 2-0 – on an afternoon I landed a 13/10 winner.

That’s now back-to-back wins in the Premier League for the Reds, moving them up into fourth in the table, six points behind their visitors.

How the bookies view it: Arsenal favourites

Arsenal are favourites to bounce back from their cup humiliation, with bet365 pricing an away win at 13/10.

Liverpool are 19/10 to record three consecutive wins in the Premier League for the first time this season, whilst the draw is 5/2.

Head to head: Four unbeaten for the Reds

Liverpool are unbeaten in each of their previous four Premier League meetings with Arsenal, including a 1-0 victory at Anfield last August.

That victory also extended Liverpool’s unbeaten record at Anfield in the Premier League against Arsenal to 13 matches (W8-D5-L0), with Arsenal’s last win coming in September 2012.

Players to watch: Another goal for Isak?

Alexander Isak continued his fine form last weekend, as he scored the second in Liverpool’s victory over Brighton.

That takes his tally to six in the Premier League this season, and looks large at 21/10 at bet365 to get on the scoresheet at Anfield on Sunday.

Predicted line-ups:

Liverpool are still missing Jeremie Frimpong, Hugo Ekitike, Conor Bradley, Giovanni Leoni and Dominik Szoboszlai due to injury, whilst Victor Munoz is a doubt.

Arsenal will be without William Saliba, Christos Tzolis and Bukayo Saka due to injury, whilst Max Dowman is suspended following his red card at Fleetwood in midweek.

Liverpool: Alisson, Araujo, Jacquet, Van Dijk, Kerkez, Mac Allister, Gravenberch, Wirtz, Gakpo, Barcola, Isak

Arsenal: Raya, Timber, Konsa, Gabriel, Lewis-Skelly, Guimaraes, Rice, Eze, Odegaard, Madueke, Havertz

Anything else catch the eye?

Arsenal will be desperate to bounce back from their cup humiliation in midweek, but face a tough challenge against a Liverpool side that appears to be finding their feet under Iraola.

As alluded to, the Gunners have an absolutely rotten record at Anfield, but three of the last four meetings at that venue have resulted in draws – as well as five of the previous seven Premier League clashes across all venues – and a repeat appeals at 5/2 at bet365.

Goals could also be at a premium, with 3/4 (75%) of Arsenal’s away matches in the Premier League featuring fewer than three goals – and given the same has landed in four of Liverpool’s last six league outings – I’m happy to have a poke on the 10/11 for Under 2.5 Goals at bet365.
