LESS than a fortnight after locking horns in Rotterdam, Lazio and Feyenoord reconvene at the Stadio Olimpico in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
Maurizio Sarri's men crashed to a 3-1 defeat at De Kuip on matchday three, on a night where both of my recommended bets banked.
That setback means the Eagles sit third in Group E with four points from three games, so victory is essential here if they are to leapfrog Feyenoord in the fight or a place in the last 16.
Lazio's preparations for this crunch clash were far from ideal, as they slumped to a 1-0 loss at Bologna in Serie A on Friday night.
As for section leaders Feyenoord, their aforementioned 3-1 win over Lazio has put them in a strong position to progress beyond the group stages for the first time in their history.
Arne Slot's side warmed up their midweek trip to Rome by returning to winning ways in the Eredivisie with a 2-1 win away at RKC Waalwijk on Saturday.
Outright Betting
Lazio's previous Group E home game ended all square and the same outcome here can be backed at 13/5 (PaddyPower) while the hosts are marginal 6/4 (Bet 365) favourites to take top honours
Feyenoord are slight outsiders at 17/10 with Bet 365 as they bid to make it back-to-back wins against the Italians.
Betting Angles
Goals could be on the agenda again when these two teams cross swords in the Italian capital on Tuesday night, so I'll head to the Bet Builder market and combine Over 2.5 Goals and Over 0.5 Second Half goals at 4/5 (Bet 365).
At some point during this contest Lazio will have to go for broke in their pursuit of three points and that to could lead to quite an open affair with the potential for goals at both ends.
Maurizio Sarri's side have yet to file a clean sheet on continental duty this season, not to mention they have leaked at least one goal in eight of their 11 Serie A outings this term, which doesn't make for good reading ahead ahead of visit from free-scoring Feyenoord.
The Pride of the South's attacking intensity is their best form of defence and it's unlikely that manager Arne Slot will sacrifice those principles here, even though privately he would probably be content to come up away from the Eternal City with a point.
While the Dutch champions carry plenty of threat in the final-third, they are certainly susceptible to conceding goals at the other end of the park, evidenced by the fact they have only managed to silence their opponents in five of their 16 outings across all competitions this season.
With all this in mind, coupled with the fact that this 4/5 (Bet 365) Bet Builder would have paid out in three of the pair's five Group E games combined, I'm more than happy so support the same selection at the Stadio Olimpico on Tuesday night.
After successfully backing Feyenoord's Santiago Gimenez to score in the reverse fixture, I'm going to put forward the same selection again here at 7/4 with Bet 365.
The Mexican goal machine marked his Champions League debut in style with a brace against Lazio and he looks worthy of interest to make the net ripple again in Rome.
