ITALY will be looking to make it two wins from two when they square off with Switzerland at the Stadio Olimpico on Wednesday night.
Roberto Mancini's men hit the ground running with a well-deserved 3-0 win over Turkey in the tournament's curtain-raiser.
That means the Azzurri are now in the driving seat in Group A as they top the section with a three goal advantage.
In fact, Mancini and co will be presented with the opportunity to seal their passage to the knockout stages when Switzerland come calling.
The Swiss were made to rue their missed chances in their opening match with Wales, with both sides having to settle for a point in the end.
That stalemate ended a run of six wins on the spin for Vladimir Petkovic's side and they will be hard tasked in their bid to triumph in the Italian capital on Wednesday night.
Outright Betting
Italy have avoided defeat in each of their last 28 matches and the host nation are red-hot favourites here at 4/7 with Bet 365.
Each of the last three meetings between these two nations have ended all square but a repeat here is an unfancied 3/1 with UniBet, with a Switzerland success trading at a lofty 11/2 with Bet 365.
Betting Angles
Italy are worthy favourites to put another three points on the board on Wednesday night but there is little value in siding with the hosts at a lowly 4/7 with Bet 365.
I'll therefore head to the Bet Builder market and combine Italy to win with under five goals in the game, a backable 4/5 shot with Bet 365
The Italians upward trajectory in recent years can be attributed to their well-schooled defence – the Azzurri have won their last nine matches without conceding a goal.
In fact, when digging a bit deeper it can be seen that Italy have won 23 of their last 28 matches, posting a staggering 21 clean sheets in the process.
With that in mind, coupled with the fact that the above-mentioned Bet Builder has clicked in each of Italy's last six competitive contests, I'm more than happy to support the same formula this midweek.
I'll also dip into the anytime goalscorer market and take the 6/4 on offer with PaddyPower for Italy striker Ciro Imobile to get on the scoresheet.
I highlighted the Lazio goal-getter as a potential golden boot contender in my ante-post preview and he deservedly got up and running against Turkey.
That means Immobile has now notched in four of his last five appearances for Italy and he is a tempting play at the aforementioned price to repeat the trick on Wednesday night.
