Hibs vs Rangers

, KO: 19:45 Mar 8, 2019, Easter Road
Rangers

RANGERS are running out of time in their bid to catch Celtic but tonight can pile pressure on Neil Lennon.

Steven Gerrard's men will be all out to close the gap to five points then sit back and hope Aberdeen take something from Parkhead tomorrow.

Paul Heckingbottom started well with three wins in charge of Hibs but got it all wrong against Celtic in the Scottish Cup.

His side hardly laid a glove on the champions and he knows they'll need to be much improved in front of the cameras tonight.

Gerrard may have one eye on Tuesday's Scottish Cup replay with the Dons but has to get the job done and Gers are a best 5-7 with Unibet.

That looks short considering both meetings this season have been draws and Gers have won once in five visits to Easter Road. Earlier this season it was 0-0 and before that there was the remarkable 5-5 draw not to be forgotten for Neil Lennon's aeroplane celebration.

Hibs had netted 11 in four after Lenny's exit before being beaten by his Celtic side so both to score has a chance 9-11 with Unibet and Marc McNulty is their most likely scorer at 11-8 at McBookie.

At the end of a week that's seen huge underdogs Ajax and Man United progress in the Champions League the Hibees are 4-1 at Ladbrokes while a draw pays 3-1 with McBookie.

Alfredo Morelos managed to stay on the park against Aberdeen and will be looking to do more damage tonight.

The Colombian netted Gers' only goal against the Hibees this term on Boxing Day and is 4-1 at McBookie to score first and a tempting 6-5 with bet365 to strike at any time.

This fixture can be fiery too with recent history between the sides including Hibs' Scottish Cup Final win. A red card has a chance at 10-3 with bet365.

This match between Hibs and Rangers will be played on Mar 8, 2019 and kick off at 19:45. Check below for our tipsters best Hibs vs Rangers prediction. You may also visit our dedicated betting previews section for the most up to date previews.

since it a fierce match. Red card is more likely than both team on the score sheet but at same time both might score each other. A risk worth it

Mr Fixit, I definitely agree that there’s a high chance of a red card in the match. Hibs fans and players know that their best chance of getting a result against Rangers is to get their best player, Morelos, sent off. I can see it happening tonight. Morelos has been behaving for a few games and although nothing is guaranteed, in expecting him to get sent off at least one more time before the end of the season. I’d say he’s more than likely to be sent off tonight, suspending him for the Kilmarnock game and ensuring he’s back to face Celtic. This will also give him a rest before he plays Aberdeen in the cup replay. If he gets sent off against Kilmarnock he’ll miss the Celtic game and I’m quite sure he won’t want to miss that. I think if you were to lump on level stakes for Morelos to be sent off until the end of the season then you will be in profit by the end. He’s bound to be sent off in one of his remaining games, I just know it. If you’re quick enough you’ll get a decent price too. Take tonight’s game for instance. Yesterday he was priced up at 10/1 with Paddy Power to be sent off and 16/1 with Bet365. I held off to see what Hills would offer. Hills offered 22/1 which I felt was a very decent price. I jumped down to the shop and hammered them using the self terminal. After my bet was accepted they had cut him down to 16/1 (sorry). I’ve checked this morning and he’s been cut to 10/1. That’s a huge drop of 12 points. My plan is to stick £100 on him every game for Rangers remaining games. If he is sent off for any then you’re looking at a tidy profit of around £1500. If you fancy him getting sent off you can still get 16/1 with Bet365. Another player who is quite volatile is Allan McGregor. I’m my opinion this guy should be receiving more cards than he does, he’s known to kick out and often gives the ref cheek. He’s 16/1 with Bet365 to get booked and a whopping 100/1 to be sent off. Here’s where it gets interesting, Morelos red card and McGregor to be Booked is 250/1. The other way around, McGregor to be sent off McGregor to get booked is also 250/1 although considering Morelos is 5/4 to get booked and McGregor is 16/1, this should be a bigger price.

    Bets for tonight

    Morelos red card @ 16/1
    McGregor red card @ 100/1
    Morelos red card/McGregor booked @ 250/1
    McGregor red card/Morelos Booked @ 250/1

    All prices with Bet365
    Good luck everyone.
