Bodo/Glimt will be keen to boost their chances of qualifying from Group A of the UEFA Europa League as they travel to FC Zurich on Thursday. The Norwegians will fancy their chances in Switzerland as Zurich have lost all their matches so far in the competition.
FC Zurich are enduring a difficult campaign this season and are struggling both domestically and in Europe. Their title defence is in tatters in the Swiss Super League as they are currently 10th on the table while they head into Thursday’s clash on a 13-match winless run across all competitions.
The Swiss champions are also bottom of Group A in the Europa League having lost all four of their matches so far. They are also have one of the worst defences in the competition and are coming off a 5-1 defeat to PSV in their previous fixture.
There has been little home comfort for Zurich this season as they are winless in their last seven matches at Letzigrund. Bo Henriksen’s men have lost five times in that run, including a 4-1 defeat to Grasshopper last Sunday as they ended a run of four straight matches without a goal.
Bodo/Glimt’s recent rise in European competition appears to have stalled slightly as they have claimed just one win in the Europa League this season. Kjetil Knutsen’s men are currently third on the table but still have a chance of finishing second in the group.
The Norwegians are coming off back-to-back defeats to Arsenal, losing 3-0 at the Emirates before falling 1-0 last time out. However, they will still head to Zurich with some confidence with their only win in the competition coming in the first meeting between both sides.
Bodo/Glimt have impressed in recent weeks with three wins from their last four matches across all competitions. They warmed up for Friday’s clash with a 5-0 victory over Kristiansund in a domestic fixture last Sunday with Hugo Vetlesen and Ola Solbakken both netting braces.

Players to watch
Amahl Pellegrino is the leading scorer for Bodo/Glimt this season with 23 goals, although he is yet to get off the mark in the Europa League. Given Zurich’s leaky defence, the striker could be backed to get on the score sheet on Thursday at 6/5 with Sport Nation.
With FC Zurich struggling for goals at the moment, Bodo/Glimt will be targeting a clean sheet on Thursday. They have not conceded in their last two matches with Brede Moe and Marius Lode featuring in central defence and both men can lead the Norwegians to another clean sheet at 5/2 with Coral.
Anything else catch the eye?
Given FC Zurich’s problems in attack, Bodo/Glimt could be backed to grab the first goal on Thursday at 8/11 with Coral. The Swiss side’s defensive problems means the visitors could also be tipped to score in both halves at 33/20 with Unibet.
Bodo/Glimt often find their rhythm after the break and with all the goals in the first meeting coming in the second half, it could be tipped as the highest scoring half at evens with Paddy Power.
