Denmark vs Austria

, KO: 19:45 Oct 12, 2021, Parken Stadium, Copenhagen
Austria

DENMARK have enjoyed a flawless World Cup campaign so far and can clinch their place at Qatar 2022 by beating Austria in Copenhagen.

The Danes have been superb in Scotland's group and can deservedly seal their place with two games still to play if they beat the Austrians.

Denmark cruised to a bloodless win in Moldova with a 4-0 romp and they basically played the second half as a friendly, so superior were they.

Austria need snookers to catch Scotland, but at least didn't slip up in the Faroe Islands at the weekend with a professional 2-0 win against a nation who famously defeated them in their first ever competitive match in 1990.

But this is an altogether different ask entirely against a Danish side who are bursting with confidence following a terrific Euro 2020 where they reached the semi-finals before losing to hosts England.

Austria also had an excellent Euros, but appear to have gone backwards after dreadful qualifying losses to Israel and Scotland.

How the bookies view it

Denmark are huge favourites to continue their great qualifying campaign and are no better than 1/2 with Unibet. The Austrians can be backed at 13/2 with BetVictor and the draw is 33/10 with SBK.

Recent head to heads

The nations have met ten times and it's pretty evenly matched with five wins for the Danes, four for the Austrians and one draw.

However, Denmark ran amok in Vienna when the nations last met in March with a 4-0 win at the Prater Stadium as can be seen below.

Players to watch

Bologna star Andreas Skov Olsen has scored on both of his last two appearances for Denmark and was taken off at half time on Satyrday night in Chisinau so he should be fresh enough.

He's 12/5 to score anytime with bet365.

Classy Bayern Munich star Marcel Sabitzer scored for Austria in the Faroes and is 5/1 to net in Copenhagen with the same firm.

Anything else catch the eye?

It's hard to see anything other than another Danish win to continue an exemplary campaign.

They are fast starters too having being ahead at the half time interval at five of their seven World Cup qualifiers. They are too short to back outright, but the 16/11 with 10Bet to be winning at half time and at full time appeals.

And the hosts have yet to even concede a goal in the entire campaign and the 11/8 to win to nil with BetVictor has to be high up on the list

They've netted 26 goals in seven games too and they should add a few more here against a flaky defence. The 11/8 Denmark minus a goal on the handicaps with bet365 should have a chance too.

This match between Denmark and Austria will be played on Oct 12, 2021 and kick off at 19:45. Check below for our tipsters best Denmark vs Austria prediction. You may also visit our dedicated betting previews section for the most up to date previews.
