Manchester United's revival came crashing to a halt in their last Premier League outing so the pressure is back on Ruben Amorim heading into this clash with Crystal Palace.
It looked like United were finally turning a corner under the Portuguese coach when they racked up five games unbeaten heading into the last international break.
But all the old failings returned when they got back down to business, losing 1-0 at home to an Everton side who had a player sent off inside 13 minutes.
Amorim's side looked toothless after a couple of injuries in attack, with Joshua Zirkzee unconvincing up front after being brought back in from the cold.
They now face a tough game against high-flying Crystal Palace, with the Eagles sitting fifth after a weekend win over Wolves.
Oliver Glasner's men are unbeaten at Selhurst Park on domestic duty this term but they were in Conference League action away to Strasbourg on Thursday night so fatigue could be an issue in this midday kick-off.
How the bookies view it: Eagles with the edge
With Crystal Palace in such fine form at home this season, they're favourites for this one at 7/5 with most firms. Manchester United are 19/10 at Bet365 while the draw pays 13/5 with BetMGM.
Recent head to head: Palace seek a high five
Crystal Palace have dominated this fixture in the last couple of seasons, going unbeaten across the last four meetings. Three of those games ended in victories but it was a 0-0 draw when Manchester United came to Selhurst Park last season.
Players to watch: Mateta's the man
Jean-Philippe Mateta has been a thorn in Manchester United's side, with the giant Frenchman scoring three times across the last three meetings. He's 5/4 at Paddy Power to grab another goal while backing him to score a header boosts the odds to 6/1.
The only player who showed any kind of urgency for United against Everton was skipper Bruno Fernandes. He came close with a dig from distance and is a decent 13/10 with Bet365 to score or assist here.
Probable line-ups
Palace only have fringe players Caleb Kphora, Cheick Doucoure and Rio Cardines out so Glasner should revert to his strongest side after making a few changes on Thursday night.
Striker Benjamin Sesko remains sidelined for Manchester United while Matheus Cunha is a doubt. Harry Maguire could also miss out again but Kobbie Mainoo and Lisandro Martinez returned to the bench against Everton.
Crystal Palace: Henderson, Munoz, Richards, Lacroix, Guehi, Mitchell, Wharton, Kamada, Pino, Sarr, Mateta.
Manchester United: Lammens, De Ligt, Yoro, Shaw, Dalot, Mazraoui, Casemiro, Fernandes, Amad, Mbuemo, Cunha.
Anything else catch the eye?
It says everything about Manchester United's fall from grace that Crystal Palace probably have a stronger starting line-up these days.
But playing at midday on a Sunday after a Thursday night game away from home in Europe isn't easy so that could tip the scales in United's favour, particularly if Cunha is fit to play.
So it could pay to back Amorim's side to win either half at 10/11 with BOYLE Sports while Unibet offer 21/20 on United scoring first.
Yeremy Pino looks like a shrewd signing for Palace and he scored a cracker at Molineux last weekend. BetMGM price him at 5/4 for a shot on target in this one.
The midfield battle will be key to deciding the outcome of the game and combining fouls for Casemiro and Adam Wharton pays a decent 20/21 at Bet365.
