Chelsea vs Palmeiras

, KO: 16:30 Feb 12, 2022, Mohamed Bin Zayed Stadium
Palmeiras

Chelsea will be looking to claim their first ever FIFA Club World Cup title as they face Palmeiras in the final on Saturday. The Brazilians have the quality to make things difficult but Chelsea will be banking on their extra quality which should give them the edge here.

Chelsea reached the final of the Club World Cup after claiming a 1-0 victory over Al Hilal. They were made to work hard by the Saudi side with Romelu Lukaku’s effort midway through the second half proving to be the difference.

The Blues head into Saturday’s clash seeking their first ever Club World Cup title having reached the final in 2012. They were beaten by another Brazilian side, Corinthians in that final and will be seeking some measure of revenge this time around.

Chelsea have been in good form, suffering just one defeat in their last 10 matches across all competitions. Defending has also been solid with two clean sheets in the last three matches.

A 2-0 victory over Egyptian side Al Ahly was enough to earn Palmeiras a place in the final of the Club World Cup. Raphael Veiga opened the scoring in the first half while Dudu added the second just after the restart.

The Brazilians have been the dominant team in South America in recent years and are back-to-back Copa Libertadores champions. They are also seeking their first ever title and have never played in the final of the competition.

Palmeiras head into Saturday’s clash in good form having gone unbeaten in their last 10 matches across all competitions. Like Chelsea, Abel Ferreira's men have been solid at the back and have kept clean sheets in their last two matches.
