Brentford vs Sunderland

, KO: 15:00 , Gtech Community Stadium
Sunderland

Brentford will be looking to continue their unbeaten start to the new Premier League season when they welcome Sunderland to the Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Keith Andrews' side made an impressive start to the campaign by sweeping aside Tottenham in a 3-0 victory before being held to a 1-1 draw at Leeds last weekend.

The Bees looked on course to make it back-to-back wins at Elland Road, only to be denied by a late Leeds equaliser.

Back on home soil this weekend, Brentford will be quietly confident about their chances of returning to winning ways against Sunderland.

The Black Cats have made a mixed start to the campaign, taking three points from a possible six.

Regis Le Bris' side suffered a 2-1 defeat at Ipswich before responding with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Fulham last weekend.

How the bookies view it: Brentford big favourites

The bookies are fully expecting Brentford to make it back-to-back home wins, with the Bees as short as 4/7 with bet365.

Sunderland are as big as 5/1 to emerge victorious, while the draw is also deemed unlikely at 3/1.

Head to head: Home comforts key?

Sunderland boast the better overall head-to-head record, winning 10 of their 21 competitive meetings with Brentford, compared to seven victories for the Bees and four draws.

However, home advantage proved decisive in both Premier League meetings last season, with Sunderland winning 2-1 at the Stadium of Light before Brentford hit back with a convincing 3-0 victory at the Gtech Community Stadium.

A repeat of that 3-0 Brentford success on Saturday is available at 12/1 with bet365.

Players to watch: Collins angle catches the eye

Nathan Collins was fouled twice during Brentford's 1-1 draw at Leeds last weekend, and he looks worth backing at 5/6 with bet365 to be fouled at least once on Saturday. The prospect of Collins coming up against Sunderland powerhouse Brian Brobbey only adds to the appeal.

Granit Xhaka has been a magnet for fouls during the early stages of the season, drawing seven across his opening two Premier League appearances. With that in mind, the Sunderland skipper looks good value at 7/4 with bet365 to be fouled at least twice during this contest.

Predicted line-ups

Brentford will be unable to call upon the services of injured quartet Antoni Milambo, Josh Dasilva, Mathias Jensen and Sepp van den Berg.

Sunderland could be without Habib Diarra, who is rated as doubtful, while Simon Adingra has left the club to join Ajax on loan.

Brentford: Kelleher; Kayode, Ajer, Collins, Lewis-Potter; Janelt, Sangare; Ouattara, Damsgaard, Schade; Thiago

Sunderland: Roefs; Meunier, Mukiele, Ballard, Reinildo; Xhaka, Sadiki; Fofana, Le Fee, Angulo; Brobbey

Anything else catch the eye?

Under 2.5 goals holds some appeal at 4/5 with bet365, but I'm taking a different route through the Bet Builder market.

Combining under 3.5 goals with Igor Thiago to register at least one shot on target produces the same 4/5 price.

This combination clicked in Brentford's 1-1 draw at Leeds last weekend and also landed in both Premier League meetings between these sides last season.
