AN EIGHTH successive Bundesliga title is now within Bayern Munich's grasp and they should move a step closer to glory with another win over Fortuna Dusseldorf.
The pressure was on for Hansi Flick's side heading into Tuesday's Klassiker as they knew defeat would see Dortmund close the gap at the top to just a single point.
But Joshua Kimmich's classy chip sealed a 1-0 win that moved Bayern seven clear with just six games to go and only complacency can now stop the champions sealing another championship.
However, if Bayern turn up thinking the job has already been done they could be in for a rude awakening as Fortuna Dusseldorf are fighting for their lives at the foot of the table.
I tipped Fortuna to beat Schalke in midweek and they delivered to make it four games unbeaten, a run that has moved them to within a point of safety.
They still occupy the relegation play-off slot but a shock win here could move them about Mainz and Eintracht Frankfurt so they will be fired up.

Despite Fortuna's impressive form, the bookies think the Allianz Arena is a bridge too far, with Betfair pricing them at a whopping 40/1. The best price for a Bayern win is 1/12 with Bet365 while even the draw is as big as 12/1 with the same firm.
Six of Bayern's last seven wins have come with a clean sheet and a repeat pays 10/13 with VBet. But the champions conceded twice in their last home game, a 5-2 victory over Frankfurt, so a Bayern win with both teams to score offers more value at 8/5 with Bet365.
Recent head to head
Bayern Munich are unbeaten in their last 11 matches against Fortuna but Dusseldorf held them to a 3-3 draw on their last visit to the Allianz Arena (below) with Dodi Lukebakio scoring a hat-trick he will never forget.
Their meeting earlier this season was one-sided, with the champions easing to a 4-0 win in Dusseldorf.
Players to watch
Bayern boss Flick (below) might chop and change in the wake of that huge win over Dortmund, with a few fringe players getting a chance to impress.
Top man Robert Lewandowski should start as he chases down Gerd Muller's Bundesliga scoring record but the Pole is a best 2/9 with Paddy Power to score and is even just 6/5 with most firms for two or more goals.
Croatian winger Ivan Perisic, who came off the bench in Dortmund, is priced 23/20 for a goal with Ladbrokes. He's also 19/10 for an assist with the same firm, which offers better value.
Kenan Karaman came up trumps for me when he netted against Schalke and looks Fortuna's best bet for a goal again here. The Turk is 13/2 with 888Sport to add to his tally of five in the last six games.
Anything else catch the eye?
Fortuna's Andre Hoffmann was carded last time out against Schalke and has seven yellows for the season. So he could be worth backing for a card here at 15/8 with Bet365.
The same firm price a penalty at 13/8 and that's a decent option in a game where Fortuna will come under pressure at the back.
