Atalanta vs Juventus

, KO: 20:00 May 19, 2021, MAPEI Stadium
Juventus

With the Italian Serie A title already decided, Atalanta and Juventus have a chance to claim some silverware when they square off in the Coppa Italia final at MAPEI Stadium. Both teams have struggled defensively in the final few weeks of the season and should serve up goals on Wednesday.

Atalanta warmed up for the final with a 4-3 Serie A victory over Genoa on Saturday to qualify for next season's Champions League. They raced to a three-goal lead before the break through Duvan Zapata, Ruslan Malinovskyi and Robin Gosens while Mario Pasalic added the fourth in the second half.

It was a fairly straightforward route to the Coppa Italia final for Atalanta as they knocked off Cagliari and Lazio before meeting Napoli in the Semi-finals. After a 0-0 draw in the first leg against the Naples club, they claimed a 3-1 victory in Bergamo to book their place in Wednesday’s clash.

Manager Gian Piero Gasperini will be satisfied with the build up to the final having gone unbeaten in their last 10 matches. They remain the leading scorers in the Italian topflight but are often shaky at the back and have conceded five goals in their last three matches.

Juventus will head into Wednesday’s clash with full of confidence after claiming a 3-2 victory over champions Inter Milan in their last Serie A fixture. Juan Cuadrado scored the winner two minutes from time after an earlier effort and a first half opener from Cristiano Ronaldo had been cancelled out by the Nerazzurri.

Having endured a disappointing title defence, Juventus have a chance to end the season with some silverware. They reached the final of the Coppa Italia after claiming a 2-1 aggregate victory over Inter Milan in the last four.

The build up to Wednesday’s final has been patchy for Andrea Pirlo’s team but they still head into the encounter with three wins from their last four matches. Like Atalanta, they have also struggled defensively with eight goals conceded in their last three matches.
