Two clubs at opposite ends of the Premier League table meet at the Emirates on Saturday night as leaders Arsenal host rock-bottom Wolves.
Arsenal saw their lead at the top of the Premier League table cut to two points last weekend, as they suffered a stoppage-time 2-1 defeat away at third-placed Aston Villa.
The Gunners have now dropped points in each of their past three Premier League encounters on the road, but Mikel Arteta’s men remain formidable at home, winning six of their seven matches at the Emirates this season (W6-D1-L0), only dropping points in a 1-1 draw with second-placed Manchester City.
Arsenal also maintained their 100% record in the Champions League this season in midweek, as they cruised to a 0-3 victory away to Club Brugge, on an evening I landed a 20/23 winner.
Wolves’ wretched season continued on Monday night, as they fell to a 1-4 defeat at home to Manchester United.
Rob Edwards’s men have picked up a dismal two points across their opening 15 Premier League fixtures this season (W0-D2-L13) and already look destined to be playing Championship football next campaign.
How the bookies view it: Arsenal clear favourites
As expected, Arsenal are clear favourites to return to winning ways in the Premier League this weekend, with bet365 pricing a home success at just 1/8.
Bet365 have Wolves a massive 20/1 to claim their first Premier League victory this season, whilst the draw is also unfancied at 15/2.
Head to head: Gunners dominance in recent years
Arsenal have dominated this fixture in recent seasons, with Mikel Arteta’s hosts winning each of their past eight Premier League meetings with Wolves, keeping clean sheets in six of those.
Players to watch: Saka to strike again?
Bukaya Saka has been in decent form for Arsenal in recent weeks, setting up goals against Bayern Munich and Chelsea, as well as scoring the clincher against Brentford in their last Premier League game at the Emirates.
The England international also scored in this fixture last season, and I like the 11/10 on offer at bet365 for him to get on the scoresheet once again.
Predicted line-ups:
Mikel Arteta will be without centre-backs Gabriel, William Saliba and Cristhian Mosquera, as well as Kai Havertz, due to injury, whilst Ricardo Calafiori is suspended and Declan Rice and Leandro Trossard are doubts.
Wolves will be without the injured Dan Bentley, Matt Doherty, Rodrigo Gomes and Marshall Munetsi, but Joao Gomes returns from suspension.
Arsenal: Raya, White, Timber, Hincapie, Lewis-Skelly, Zubimendi, Odegaard, Merino, Madueke, Saka, Gyokeres
Wolverhampton Wanderers: Johnstone, Krejci, Agbadou, Toti, Hoever, Andre, Gomes, Wolfe, Arias, Lopez, Strand Larsen
Anything else catch the eye?
With Arsenal such short-priced favourites, it’s hard to find value here with an Arsenal Win to Nil paying a measly 4/7 at bet365.
Eight of Arsenal’s 10 Premier League victories this campaign have featured fewer than four goals, and a repeat pays an appealing 10/11 at bet365.
What’s more, all six of Wolves’ Premier League losses on their travels have seen a maximum of three goals, which further aids this selection.
