AFTER a 5-0 home defeat to PSG two weeks ago the last thing Club Brugge need is a trip to the Parisiens' own back yard to try to salvage their Group A qualification hopes.
PSG have a perfect record in the group so far; P3 W3 D0 L0 F9 A0 Pts9 and they're unbeaten in their last 22 home group stage matches; W17 D5 so the size of the task facing the Belgians is enormous. A win for Paris puts them in to the next round with two matches to spare, including a trip to the Bernabéu, and that might be incentive enough for them to field a strong team at the Parc de Princes.
Despite that 5-0 hammering, the Jupiler League leaders have been in good form. They continue to set the pace in Belgium where they're unbeaten in 13 since the start of the season, conceding just four goals. And prior to PSG's win on Matchday 3 they were unbeaten in their last six Champions League group matches, including a very creditable 2-2 draw away to Real Madrid.
The French champions are a step up in class on anything Brugge will face domestically and are currently ranked 15/2 (Betfred) to win the competition. Friday's surprise defeat to Dijon was PSG's third in the league already this season, but it was the first time in five matches they'd failed to score four or more. It could be a piece of seriously bad timing for Brugge to face them off the back of that defeat.
Prior to that defeat, Icardi had scored in five successive games, seven goals in total, and he's likely to lead the line again.
