After what was always going to be a big weekend of football, Liverpool have extended their lead at the top of the Premier League to nine points and subsequently boosted their Premier League outright odds.
The Reds' win over Man City on Sunday wasn't the only big result of the weekend, with Man Utd winning by four goals for the first since August 2021 and Arsenal scoring five for the second consecutive game as they downed West Ham at the London Stadium.
Here is how some of the key Premier League betting markets have shifted in light of this weekend's results.
Premier League betting odds news – significant moves
- Newcastle are now 8/1 for top-four finish
- Everton fall to 9/4 relegation
- Lopetegui now just 11/8 to sacked
Magpies continue to struggle
Newcastle have struggled to get going all season and it was more of the same on Saturday when they saw their 1-0 lead over Crystal Palace disappear in the dying minutes. In truth, it was the least the Eagles deserved with Newcastle registering just two shots throughout the 90 minutes.
Their odds to finish inside the top four continue to lengthen and they now stand at 8/1, which makes them the eighth most likely team to finish in the Champions League places. These odds are only likely to lengthen further in the coming weeks with a match against Liverpool on the horizon and a tricky festive fixture list where they face Aston Villa, Man Utd and Tottenham.
Toffees find themselves in a sticky spot once again
Everton are now five games without a win in the Premier League following their 4-0 loss to Manchester United on Sunday. At 0-0, the Toffees had their fair share of the chances but their heads quickly dropped as soon as the Red Devils scored the opener.
Everton are now 9/4 to go down in the Premier League relegation betting market, which represents a bit of a steal when you consider they haven't scored a goal in 360 minutes of football. Dyche's men face Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Man City over the next four weeks so get on this price while you can.
Lopetegui in desperate need of a run
The Premier League sack race is heating up and Julen Lopetegui finds himself as the favourite at a price of 11/8. The Hammers' win away at Newcastle was seen as a potential turning point for the Spaniard but they reverted to type at the weekend, shipping five goals to Arsenal.
Fortunately for the former Wolves boss, he has a favourable December fixture list to turn things around but he is going to need wins. They face Leicester, Wolves and Bournemouth in their next three fixtures and a win or two would see these odds lengthen.
