It was a weekend of shock results in the Premier League with Manchester United, Manchester City, Tottenham and Arsenal all failing to win their respective matches.
Chelsea and Liverpool were the real winners at the top of the table this week with the Blues now occupying second position and Man City and Arsenal both failing to close the gap on Liverpool.
The battle for Europe is also heating up while there were also some significant moments in the battle to beat the drop. Here is how some of the key Premier League betting markets have shifted after a bumper weekend.
Premier League betting odds news – significant moves
- Liverpool are now 4/6 to win the Premier League
- Ipswich fall to 2/5 for relegation
- Man Utd now rank outsiders for the top four at 12/1
Reds win the weekend without playing
Liverpool's match against Everton was called off on Saturday morning due to the heavy winds in the region. While the Reds would have been disappointed with the postponement, they couldn't have hoped for a better weekend.
Man City could only muster a 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace on Saturday while Arsenal played out a 1-1 draw with Fulham on Sunday. Those two results mean that Liverpool can move nine points clear of Arsenal and 11 of Liverpool if they can win their re-arranged fixture with Everton.
As a result, their Premier League outright odds have shortened slightly from 7/10 to 4/6.
The Tractor Boys stall at the wrong time
Not for the first time this season, Bournemouth pulled off a miraculous last-minute turnaround to steal three points on the road this weekend and while Everton were on the receiving end the first time around, this time it was Ipswich.
Kieran McKenna's men were just a few minutes away from a big win that would have taken them to within one point of safety. However, after conceding two goals in five minutes, they are now four points adrift and the gap is becoming a concern as we approach the halfway stage.
Ipswich's Premier League relegation odds have now moved from 4/9 to 2/5.
No bounce for Amorim
Ruben Amorim warned Man Utd fans that they were going to have to suffer as he attempts to teach his squad a brand new system in the middle of the most hectic part of the season and he has already been proven right.
The Red Devils were toothless in their 3-2 defeat to Nottingham Forest on Saturday and their chances of qualifying for the Champions League next season now already seem dependent on either winning the Europa League or the Premier League being given one of the extra spots on offer.
Man Utd were priced at 8/1 in the Premier League top four market when Amorim was appointed but they are now at 12/1.
