UK-WISE we have tonight's Partick Thistle v Hibs Premiership match and the JP Trophy ties ahead of Friday's World Cup qualifiers.

They're not games to spend your wages on my advice would be to keep stakes small.

In fact, do you know what would be good? Team news is so important when looking at JP games that anyone, maybe a supporter of a team playing, who knows about the strength of line-up being fielded by a certain club can comment here and we can try to help each other pick winners.

Meanwhile, the stats say Hibs will tonight win with both teams scoring at 5-1 at William Hill.

The Jags have won just once in the last six in the league and Hibs have only lost once over the same period. Both have netted in 67 per cent of these matches.

However, I'm not sure about a Hibs win. To me it has the feel of a draw at 12-5 with Stan James although Hibs draw no bet is tempting at 11-8 with Skybet.

The Jags and Hibs have scored in 67 per cent of these games. Hibs to win and both teams to score pays 5-1 at William Hill.

Alan Archibald's men have yet to win in front of their home fans so odds of 7-5 at bet365 don't tempt.

Hibs are 6-4 at William Hill but remember were well beaten last time out at Inverness. The sides haven't met at Firhill since 2004 when it finished 1-1 and a repeat of that is possible at 6-1 with McBookie.com and Ladbrokes.

Easter Road striker James Collins is a best 7-1 at McBookie.com to net first while Thistle's top home scorer is Aaron Muirhead with three, courtesy of his penalties.

Muirhead is 20-1 at bet365 to hit the opener and 8-1 at Betfred to notch at anytime.

This probably isn’t a game I really want to bet on. If anything I fancy a Partick win, but the result will in most probability be a draw, with three of Partick’s first four home games this season.

First scorer wise if I had to go with anyone i would go for Doolan at 13/2, but both teams generally share the goals throughout the teams so I probably won’t be taking a punt on that.

I’ll be on under 2.5 goals at 4/6 though. I can’t see a high scoring game, and there have only been seven goals in Partick’s first four home games.

    Prediction: 1-1 (11/2 – most likely scoreline)

Hello all. I’ve been following this column for a few weeks now, been pretty impressed with the standard of advice and info so thanks to everyone who contributes.

Anyway, my small wager for the Partick game is Conrad Balatoni to score anytime. 16/1 with Corals, 8-1 generally elsewhere. He scored 6 in 34 games last season and is already off the mark this season too. Hibs seem the kind of opponents who could easily ship 2 or 3 goals if they aren’t careful so 16/1 looks pretty decent value to me.

Although I rate Ian Wilkerson of the RP as a decent Scottish football tipster I think his write up of tonight’s game with the KEY STAT of 4 from last 5 have seen both teams score is terrible. The last meeting was 10 years ago and his stat takes 4 games from 2003-2004 and 1 from 2002-2003, he ignores the other 3 games from 2002-2003 which would make it BTTS in 5 from 8. It may well be a BTTS game but his stats are irrelevant given the time span involved.

Cant really bet on tonights Partick v Hibs game with any great confidence, so i’ll just have a small bet on Hibs to win and over 2.5 goals 9/2 bet365, just get that gut feeling there will be goals..

Raaljaca, it’s a fair point mate!

I’ve already posted my selections but anyone looking to to add a team to make up a double or a trebel etc, best bet would be Hibs double chance 4/7

Happy to go with that Greg even though backing Hibs is a very difficult thing for a Jambo! I feel Fenlon has a decent strike force for this level in Collins and Heffernan.

Raaljaca, don’t get me started on Fenlon, he’s lucky to still be in a job! I do think they have turned a corner ( 2 years late) hopefully they’ll do the business tonight!

free fiver at paddy power for 4/5 acca at wknd wi arsenal letting me down for £60. was looking for a longshot and a red card seemed a decent shout at 5/1 but went for both teams to have a man sent off at 60/1, lets hope theres an early punch up answer a few reds :)
also tempted by muirhead too tho wi my sky free bet club fiver wi no much football this wknd.

had a look at coupon amd hartlepool could be a good bet at brammal lane 4/1, after scoring 4 away gls for the 1st time in yrs and shef utd steuggling in league Johnston.s paint trophy won’t be top priority

Come on, you hibees! Great call, Mr F. You’ve gotta love hibs – everybody, not least me, thought that Griffiths going and Fenlon staying was a recipe for relegation, but he’s turning it round. Doesn’t look like they’re turning into Barcelona just yet, but… I still shudder at that Europa League result.

The UHT, as Fenlon said it’s good to get a win not playing well. Can’t see the Jambos catching you now.
