JERMAIN DEFOE should edge ahead of Martin Chivers and become Spurs' record Euopean scorer in tonight's return meeting with Moldovans Sheriff Tiraspol.

I'll be on the England man, who has six Europa League goals in four games, to score first at 9-4 with bet365 and Ladbrokes and he's so hot you can't find bigger than 1-2 at Betfred to net at anytime.

Andre Villas-Boas has taken the tournament as seriously as expected and Spurs have won all four of their games to nil.

In fact in all competitions the only home team to breach Spurs' resistance has been Arsenal. Sheriff failed to score in both legs of their Champions League qualifier against Dinamo Zagreb and drew 0-0 in their Group K opener with Anzhi before drawing 1-1 at Tromso.

They score plenty in their domestic league but Spurs to win to nil at 3-4 with Coral must be considered.

It will be interesting to see how Swansea react to their derby defeat to Cardiff when they travel to Kuban.

The Russian side, who knocked out Motherwell, earned an unexpected draw in Wales with a last-gasp Djibril Cisse penalty.

Michael Laudrup is talking about fielding a strong side as he tries to get back on track and if he does I'll be on Swansea at a best 17-10 with bet365 and McBookie.com.

The Swans were mightily impressive beating Valencia 3-0 in the Mestalla and are generally set up to play better away.

Wigan's unbeaten record could go when they visit Russia. Rubin Kazan have won all nine of their European games this season barring the 1-1 draw at the DW.

They are especially strong on home soil and this is a tough task for a Wigan side in the middle of a hectic schedule. Take Rubin at 9-20 with McBookie.com and consider under 2.5 goals at 17-20 with Ladbrokes.

Wigan haven't scored in eight away games since the opening weekend of the season and so Rubin win to nil at 13-10 with Coral will be a popular pick
.

Hopefully Spurs will put out a strong team tonight, get qualification done with and play kids in the final 2 games…they’ll need the strong teams for the likes of United and City coming up not long after each other

Mr F, What do you think of Valencia and Fiorentina double?

  8. Ritchie 10 years ago

Defoe 1st goalscorer 5/2 Ladbrokes or Sigurdsson 6/1 e/way Bet365 as low as 4/1 elsewhere!

Racing Post tipping Lamela to score first tonight for Spurs….honestly, i’d want at least 20/1 before i’d back him for first goal scorer not 6/1

John, Defoe will do for me but might have a little saver on Vertonghen anytime.

Fair play to Mr F for the mention regarding Defoe’s chance to beat Martin Chivers European goals record, Racing Post write up on the game never even touched on it. These kind of milestones always warrant a line or two.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

raaljaca, we won’t be too happy though if he doesn’t score first.

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

You mentioned him and backed him, Post ignored him and opposed him, least he can do is pop the first one in, here’s hoping…..
