White Hart Lane, Monday, 8pm, Sky Sports 1

BOOKIES say results were predictable at the weekend and let's hope that continues on Monday night.

Spurs entertain Villa and are a biggest 4-7 with bet365 and Paddy Power which is seriously short on a Premier League match involving two sides in the top half.

To be fair Harry Redknapp's side have been in blistering form and it's difficult to see anything but a home win.

But Villa, a best 6-1 with Betfred and Chandler, have matchwinners of their own in the shape of Darren Bent and Gabby Agbonlahor so Spurs will need to be careful.

Agbonlahor is a doubt and so is Spurs' star Rafael van der Vaart. If Robin van Persie's currently the best player in the EPL his Dutch team-mate isn't far behind and will be missed if he doesn't start.

Luckily Spurs have another talisman in the shape of Gareth Bale and he's won us a few quid recently. I tipped him to score for Wales against Norway and for Spurs at Fulham – and both teams he was first to net.

Bale is 15-2 with bet365 and Chandler to break the deadlock and 2-1 with Stan James to net at any time. He's 7-2 with Paddy Power to be the home side's first scorer.

Van der Vaart will be 15-4 at Chandler if he starts ex-Arsenal hitman Manny Adebayor is 9-2 at Ladbrokes and Paddy Power.

Villa will be looking to Darren Bent to return to haunt his former side and he is 9-1 at Paddy Power to score first.

After a weekend of carnage bookies will be bracing themselves for another massive payout if Spurs win. They will be heavily backed and loads of punters might be waiting on them to bring up accumulators after not realising this was a Monday night game.

Villa have generally been poor and I can't see anything but a home. However, it could close as five of the last seven meetings have ended 2-1 to either side and 2-1 Spurs pays 8-1 at Ladbrokes.

Both teams should score and that pays 4-6 at Ladbrokes and Coral while over 2.5 goals is
4-6 with boylesports.

Spurs have won seven out of eight in the EPL and nine of their last 10 games have featured three or more goals. So if they're in the mood this could be a goalfest and over 3.5 pays 7-4 with Stan James.

Recommendations

Bale to score

(2-1, Stan James)

Over 2.5 goals

I think both teams to score at 8/11 is great value

George, just noticed your Super Single is not on Spurs v Aston Villa. I totally agree with both teams to score. Five of the last seven meetings have been 2-1 to either side.

Mr fixit, found your website Friday night and used it on Saturday but included st mirren. Thanks alot. £5 stake brought in a nice return of £124.83 return. What makes it even better it’s my first win this season.

    Cheers

Dave, welcome aboard. We had a good Saturday and let’s hope for more days like it. I tipped St Mirren in my Daily Record column but didn’t include them in any of my featured bets. Wee Joe, who does the SFL treble, is a Buddies fan and is never confident.

Thanks. Maybe a bit adventurous but am going to put it out there, 3-1 Tottenham with Bale first scorer. Bet365 60/1 great odds.
