Today, the Emirates, 5.3pm, live on Sky Sports 1

ARSENAL failed in a £40million bid for Luis Suarez in the summer – and tonight we could find out why Arsene Wenger wanted to sign the Uruguayan enigma.

The Liverpool star has netted two in two at the Emirates and heads to London on a high after a
sparkling hat-trick against West Brom last week.

Wenger was willing to splash the cash even though the bad boy was banned for biting – and he’s sure hurting opposition defences.

He and Daniel Sturridge have formed a perfect pairing while the Gunners only have one top hitman in Olivier Giroud.

Arsenal’s form has dipped with recent home defeats to Dortmund and Chelsea – in cups – so Wenger will be hoping his men maintain their league form tonight.

It’s an interesting clash and with four of the last six at the Emirates ending in draws, according to oddschecker, it could be another stalemate.

That pays 5-2 at William Hill and others while the Gunners are 13-10 with Hills and Liverpool 12-5 at McBookie.com.

Oddschecker point out Liverpool have netted on each of their last three visits to the Emirates and both teams to score is 4-7 with bet365.

Two of the last three between the two have gone over 2.5 goals, as have Liverpool’s last four, and that’s 4-6 with McBookie.com and BetVictor.

Arsenal have scored first in eight of their nine league games this season and are available at 4-5 with Paddy Power to find the net first.

Suarez has scored six in his last four outings and is 7-4 at Betfred to net while Sturridge is 2-1 with Ladbrokes.

Giroud is 6-4 at bet365 and don’t forget Mesut Ozil. Liverpool may have to settle for a draw because their midfield is inferior and the German is 3-1 at bet365 to hit the target.

Cant wait for this tonight! really think we can beat them at the emirates, although liverpool have only one once at the emirates in 8 visits in league and cup, we have actually only lost on 2 of those 8 visits. I’m gonna be on 2+ Liverpool team goals, only twice in those 8 visits have we failed to score and Liverpool have scored twice on their last two visits

Liverpool over 2 team GOALS, 11/8 with Betfair

    Come on red men!!

Sturridge 1-0 ce in a few times at the start of the season and I can see it coming in again, hopefully it finishes 5-5 wi suarez getting all 5 and ramsey getting arsenals 5 with 5 ozil assists for fantasy teams sake tho :)

I`m a Liverpool supporter, however Ozil and Carzola are exceptional players, Gerrard is world class but has lost a lot of pace but works very hard and Lucas is a key player for Liverpool, he is the anchor in midfield. I`m sure Mr Fixit meant Arsenals midfield is inferior to Liverpools and it is, but Liverpool will do well to graft out a draw.

Suarez anytime for me looks the bet @7/4

Both teams to score im on and also on over 2.5 goals.

Lovely lovely lovely result tonight! :) puts us in pole position to take 2nd spot tomorrow and shut all the red bleaters up with “this is our year” rubbish…Martinez is a GOD! To make the team revert from negativity to positivity in such a short space of time…top 3 possession teams…attract the likes of Lukaku&Deulefeu&Barry&McCarthy to the team to make such an awesome impact to the way we play is nothing short of Knighthood material! :) a 2-1 victory over Tottenham tomorrow should ensure an amazing start to the season and cement us in that top 4(2nd actually..above the reds!) to make a blockbusting derby match on 23rd November when Blue and Red collide! Lukaku 5/1 first scorer tomorrow and 6/4 anytime..unbelievable! Great prices for a monster of a man with great technical ability and an eye for goal! Suarez is just putting himself in the shop window for January and because he isn’t champions league cup-tied the bids will flow from FAR BIGGER teams than Liverpool and he will walk! Come on you BLUES!!
