St Mirren Park, Sunday, 3pm

I LIKE to consider recent form and head-to-heads when looking at matches – and you don't get much more recent that this one.

The sides met two weeks ago and while the games lasted just 53 minutes Saints were well on top.

They led County 2-0 when the ref ruled the pitch was waterlogged and unplayable. That was a relief to the Highland outfit and they'll be hoping lightning doesn't strike twice in Paisley on Sunday.

Although not literally of course because that could mean another call-off.

I watched all 53 minutes of that match on BBC ALBA's delayed transmission and Saints were by far the better side with 2-0 certainly not flattering them.

Since then they've won 3-0 at Partick Thistle to maintain a good run that's seen them win four and draw one of their last five.

County crashed at home to Celtic last week and have lost three of their last four in a disappointing spell.

On the evidence of the shortened game Saints should win and are decently priced at 8-5 with William Hill.

Paul McGowan and Steven Thompson netted the goals in that game and both to score again pays 5-1 at William Hill.

Thompson's been in good form and bagged a double against Thistle. He is 11-2 with bet365 to score first and I'll be on that as well as 2-1 to net at anytime.

Morning Mr F, hope you are getting back to health. How sure (I know it’s football) that St Mirren will win today? Do you know when the team news will be released? Thanks

Chris, printed Hills price is 11-8 so that’s a helluva drop. I also noticed in Ladbrokes Gremio have been cut from 10-11 to 2-5 which is even bigger.

Game has gone pretty much to scripted as before Mr F, would you put a 10th of your original stake on the draw as odds are 12s for the draw to be safe, this refers to the big stakes??
