THE Scottish card on Saturday is dominated by the third round of the William Hill Scottish Cup.

Joining the likes of Rangers, Dunfermline, Morton and Raith are lesser-known names such Hurlford, Linlithgow, Bo'ness, Edinburgh City, Brora and Nairn.

It would be easy to dismiss the junior and Highland and Lowland League sides but the standard isn't as bad as people who don't know the leagues will assume.

Hurlford, for example, pay premium wages that are better than virtually anything on offer in League One or Two and as a result have attracted players of the quality of Stewart Kean and Stevie Masterton.

I've watched Hurlford several times against Clydebank in recent seasons and they're a big, tough side who will give League Two Stirling plenty of problems. Paddy Power's 9-2 on the Scottish Junior Cup holders looks big and I'm on Ford plus one at 11-8.

McBookie.com are offering 3000-1 it will be one to remember for non-league sides Bo’ness, Hurlford, Linlithgow, Spartans and Nairn. That's the price on all to win while the SPFL sides they face are 9-1 to triumph.

Championship side Raith should be too strong on Linlithgow Rose's big day and the Kirkcaldy men are 2-5 at bet365.

Arbroath are 1-3 at Paddy Power to see off Nairn and should do with plenty to spare while Clyde are worth backing at 5-6 with bet365 at Spartans.

In the one all non-league battle Brora should win at Edinburgh City but it's close than the odd-on price suggested.

McBookie.com spokesman Paul Petrie said: “As the odds suggest it would be a big ask for all five non-league teams to win this weekend. However, all should put up a good account and it wouldn’t surprise me to see one or two winning.”

The one big tie is Dumbarton v Rangers and I expect a similar result to last week when the Ibrox side won 3-0 in the league at the Bet Butler. Rangers are 2-9 at Paddy Power and 8-11 at Paddy Power minus one.

Of the other ties I like Dunfermilne at 2-5 with Paddy Power and League Two form side Queen's Park at 13-10 with Coral at home to rivals Albion Rovers.
