I know that the USA women have been in stellar form recently ( results wise ), but they’re not exactly breezed anybody but Thailand away this tournament. Spain and France made them work for it. Better teams with more clinical finishing would of seen England women concede more this tournament, but they HAVE steadily improved. they’ve kept their cool against a possibly fiery encounter with Scotland and the ugly match that should of seen Cameroon down to 9 players, but England have improved. I know the USA have to attackers on 6 goals a pop, but ignore that 13 nil win against Thailand and their stats are not all that impressive. Burton Albion under 8’s could of put 13 past Thailand. I’m wondering what odds you’d get on Ellen White scoring, neither of the 2x USA players on 6 goals each scoring and England progressing? Stranger things have happened. I’m not convinced that the USA have a team full of star players, people are pulling in the Thailand stats which changes all the numbers. For me, I believe Megan Rapino is the only player England really need to worry about.
The price for the England win was 16/5 yesterday, I’ve not looked today, but they were 7/2 on Sunday, so some money has started to move on England. I think the bookies could be in for a caning today if England women do the biz. The incentive of going 1 further than the men did last year is one juicy incentive.
