SEVEN out of nine Premier League weekend fixtures have seen both teams score so could we have more of the same tonight.

Man United entertain Spurs and I'd like to think we're in for a treat but we all know Jose Mourinho is capable of sucking life out of a game and scrap a 0-0 or even 1-0 win.

Spurs will go to Old Trafford full of confidence but their record there is uninspiring and I could see a point apiece here. I know there are problems at Man Utd just now and it could be a good time for Spurs to visit but I think I said that last season too.

United have won five in a row at home to Spurs and the north Londoners have failed to even score on seven of their last nine visits. Like some I prefer form to stats but the stats are difficult to ignore here so it's a draw for me.

I'll take a closer look at the game in the morning as well others including Roma v Atalanta and Athletic Bilbao v Huesca.

I took a chance on a red at Motherwell yesterday for the Super Single but it never came while not for the first time recently both of my trebles needed a goal.

Plenty of tips have been posted today with Greg and HullShaker taking a good look at the non-league games. I'm no expert on the National League but have picked out a treble after doing a bit of research this morning. Two contributors have posted previews on Roma v Atalanta so check them out too.

Fylde v Harrogate is live on TV tonight and it's a game that stands out for me. Second-placed Fylde have won three out of three at home and scored nine goals while third-place Harrogate have started well with three wins and three draws – the same as Fylde.

At first glance I'd go for Fylde to win at just under evens but goals are a better prospect and backing both to score.

Greg is tipping Salford to beat Barrow but I'm taking Salford draw no bet against a stuffy side and completing a treble with both to score at Halifax v Gateshead. The last four meetings have been score draws and both have started well.

Adam Rooney is also mentioned by Greg and I've been following his progress. Worth a 1pt Super Single on the ex-Aberdeen striker to add to his five-goal tally with the opener. To net at any time he is evens at bet365.

Remember to check out welovebetting for their latest tips and video chat.

1pt Super Single

  • Rooney (Salford) to score first
  • (7-2, bet365)

2pts Top Treble

  • Salford draw no bet
  • Halifax v Gateshead btts
  • (31-10, William Hill, bet365)

    btts Monday

    afc fylde v Harrogate 4-6
    roma v atalanta 4-5
    double pays 2-1
    add
    m petach tikya v beitar Jerusalem 8-11
for treble at a bit over 4-1

today we also see if man utd players are behind mourinhio in a must not lose game for them.
if they are I can still see spurs netting and united winning 2-1.
if not I see 0-0 ht and spurs winning 1-0 in the 2nd half.
so I sit on the proverbial fence and say btts draw 1-1 most probably.

    • maccathered 6 years ago

If Spurs lose this @micky lfc then i will be amazed.Ali,Kane and co against Bailly and Lindelof lol,Matic and Valencia might return but even if they do they are not Match fit,so in a game of this magnitude it’s quite worrying for the home side.

    • paddy gooner 6 years ago

What about Pogba, Lukaku, Mata, sanchez, Fellaini, Fred? If I were Kane or Alli I’d be scared of that bunch.,

    • maccathered 6 years ago

Pogba and Lukaku yeah great players but in the wrong team,Sanchez doesn’t really cut it against the big sides.

    • paddy gooner 6 years ago

Lukaku has scored as many goals as Kane this season, and in about 60 mins. less. Pogba has scored more goals than Tottenham’s entire midfield. Even despite Mourinho’s antics. I’d say United will do alright tonight.

    • 008 6 years ago

Lukaku scored 26 goals last season, Kane 41.

Macca you’re throwing money away with that bet spurs -1.5g and a win .im confident united will win this one . Btts united win 4/1 nap . ??

    • maccathered 6 years ago

Tell me @theplug how can you be confident when i have friends (more’s the pity) that are season tickets holders at Old Trafford and they fear the worst tonight,as i do lol

MACCATHERED just because you have friends who are season tickets holders that fear the worst dont mean spurs will beat united, united nearly always come good after a bad loss, also another bet for tonight DELI ALLI to get sent off dont have a price for that bet.

    • sean ireland 6 years ago

Sorry Macca but your NAP is based on nothing but a blind hatred of everything United, I have no doubt at all that Untied look very poor and I want boring Jose MOANino gone asap but you have to consider the stats for this before throwing money on a HOPE Nap.Previous 7 meetings have resulted in the home side winning, London sides visiting Old Trafford have taken just 7 points from 66 with United winning 15 drawing 7 losing 0 from 22 home games. Spurs have won just 7/15 prem lg aways just 1 of these wins was against a top 6 finisher last season and poor as United have been they have lost just twice in prem lg home games since the start of last season. 4/5 home games against top 6 last season saw BTTS at Old Trafford and United haven’t failed to score in last 11 homes with top 6 sides, given Spurs have seen BTTS in 3/5 prem lg a ways and United looking poor at the back conceding 4 from 2 games BTTS is the most likely winner from a betting prospective @4/6 Skybet. Most likely result given United’s poor form I”ll call a Btts/draw which pays 3/1. Im quite confident that Untied will avoid defeat in this one.Good Luck.

    • maccathered 6 years ago

I don’t bet by stats mate and it has nothing to do with my dislike of Man United.I actually foolishly backed Man Utd v Brighton so to say i am backing Spurs because of that is nonsense especially when there’s cash involved.I’m not sure wether you watched Man Utd at Brighton but from what i seen the whole team (not just the defense) were in complete dissaray. Now i don’t know if you have seen Mourihno’s press conference but if you did then you will see he is not a happy chappy and something is amiss.Man Utd do not look organised enough for me to contain a well organised Spurs side.Don’t take my tip personal i’m only going where the Value is.

    • harleec7 6 years ago

Macca I do enjoy some of your opinionated posts.

But when you list Ali as a threat over Erkissen I have to argue my Bias. Ali is clearly no where near as good as he was since his debut season, I’m not sure why many rate him so highly. Felt like he was detriment to England at the World Cup also.

    • maccathered 6 years ago

Haha my bad mate i did put and co though lol,to many to mention. There may also be a red card here i feel as tensions rise.

    • paddy gooner 6 years ago

I’m not a United fan it’s against my religion to like spurs but I’ll have to agree with Sean here. Think with your head not with your cockerel. The stats prove it. And Brighton are good at home. Man City just drew with Wolves … does that mean you’re going to bet against City from now on?

    • maccathered 6 years ago

Stats mean absolutely nothing to me @paddy gooner,i am all for the here and now and thats the way i bet.(maybe that’s why i do ok),as for backing against City, the only team i will take to beat City and that’s Liverpool that’s as nailed on as anything.

    • maccathered 6 years ago

It’s a good time to be backing against United imo,United are 31/20 to win at home.

    • sean ireland 6 years ago

You have based your 2/1 value pick on Belly Ali good luck with that 1 lol,you have bet twice already on United’s 2 games so far and been stung twice,I see you making it a consistent 3/3 after tonight’s game, ill be back later to give you a large slice of humble pie lol

    • jayz2k9 6 years ago

I`m all over this at 2/1.

Jose is an expert of demoralizing his players and this is exactly what is happening at Utd, he did the same thing at Chelsea last time he was manager there.

    • maccathered 6 years ago

If you watched United play v Brighton they couldn’t string a pass together, and lets be fair the scoreline flattered United in the end as they got a last gasp Penalty.

    • florescum 6 years ago

Manchester United d ont lose this game
Manchester United has comited mistakes at Brighton. I d ont think they would repeat the same mistakes 2 games in a row. Its most unlikely this fact and for that my guess is a good result for Manchester United.
Manchester United – Totenham 1x / United win or draw

    • old al 6 years ago

Personally I think you can rely too much on just stats, knowledge of the league you’re betting on, watching the matches is at least 50% of the battle, that comes from experience from following it over a period of time – and there is several examples of this on the site, trends, local knowledge, form etc. play a larger part for me. I love macca’s and johnb’s enthusiasm for their respective clubs but would bear it in mind when following them but I can learn a bit of insight from their post and make my own mind from there.

watched it a few times macca you say they couldnt string a pass together, but still scored 2 goals , liverpool could only score 1 and united havent even started yet ,pool+ city better watch out LOL

    • 008 6 years ago

Talking h2h stats about United is useless.
The team has changed 9 out 11 first squad players and 3 managers in the past 3-4 seasons. Regardless of the player/manager quality they gained or lost – the biggest drop back after the SSF departure is their mentality.
They are simply not playing with the winning drive in them anymore.

So only thing we can debate is their form, which right now is awful.
Mourinho is the best in preventing strong teams from performing and that is the only strategy which he will deploy tonight.
Knowing the Spurs quality and potential i can only agree with @maccathered that away win is good value.

    • yidder 6 years ago

Atalanta to beat the goal time of 73 minutes at 5-6 (bet365) worth considering today. They have scored in last 10 h2hs with Roma, and have started campaign with their shooting boots on (only blemish being Europa league game on Thursday).

    Morning gents,

Managed the 1st half in Bolivia and The Strongest looked fair game for the win – one smashed off the underside of crossbar and keeper saving several clear goals with his legs somehow. Fell asleep – woke up 0-1 Bolivar and a red for The Strongest ?

Was always going to be a tough call but was right avoiding goals and even btts…that’s 6 H2H’s without now.

Prices for The Strongest shortened as predicted throughout the day so money was going the right way…ultimately a loser though…that’s football…with just the 10 yellow cards and 1 red thrown in ?

Decent looking card in the lower leagues and I’m heading down to Essex in my XR3i and a pair of white stilletoes…

BILLERICAY TOWN VS. ST ALBANS CITY:

Going for goals here and whilst Chippenham put the Essex boys to the sword last time out, I don’t expect many results like that, especially at The AGP Arena.

I went to St Alban’s for the day once and it was dead posh – even the dogs looked at me like I was some kind of transient Northern monkey in need of a wash and a proper meal.

The only other valid bit of information is the fact that the season has been full of goals thus far; a 5 goal thriller opened up the campaign and means the 6 game match goal tally reads: 5-3-5-5-3-2…not bad if you factor in the last 2 (historical) H2H’s which finished 2-2 and 3-3.

Billericay will score plenty of goals this year and although not quite under full steam, they have an impressive side that has already hit 3, 4 and 4 team goals in 3 of their 6 matches to date.

    Two selections:

    Wimborne v Poole Town

Stats clearly point to the goals interest here but I think Poole look the stronger side. I was tempted to avoid this one as it looks a bit trappy, but two things have sucked me in. Poole have bagged goals against much tighter defences than Wimborne’s appears to be, while Wimborne have the benefit of 9 days rest and a home tie. Hopefully that little combo sees both sides netting in the manner that the stats would suggest.

Early shout for the weekend Motherwell to beat Dundee 13/8 i expect this to be closer to 6/5 come ko
Although Dundee have plenty possession in games we lack a real cutting edge , the fans are losing patience with McCann and if Motherwell play anything like they did against rangers they should win , an early goal could turn dens into a toxic atmosphere and it’s not a nice place for home players when it’s like that

  16. GregBrowning 6 years ago

    Morning gents

Really busy card tofday and will be focuing on the SPFL and Belguim Reserve games along with the Non league bank holidayc card in England

Rangers Reserves v St Mirren Reserves KO 2pm

Had hoped to double this game up for over 2.5 goals with Hibs but for some reason the Hibs Greenock Morton game isnt available. It was some start last week for the young buddies as they hammered Dundee United 5-0. Usally a decent amount of goals in St Mirren matches especially away from home and this looks destinesd to see both teams score at least once at Murray Park this afternoon. Rangers got off to a winning start last week edging out QoS 2-1 and a lot of their games this season will see both sides score

    Back ober 3.5 march goals 9/10 (Bet365)

    **************************************************************************************

Sint Truidense Res v Antwerp Res KO 6.30pm
Standard Liege Res v Kortrijk Res KO 6.30pm

Been following the Belguim Reserve league for a nmber of seasons now and during that time a couple of team have been really good to me in terms of goals – step forward St Truidense and Kortrijk . My advice would be to back these two most weeks for goals and its a league who’s common score is 3-1 2-2 3-2. Both matches look good for goasl again today with all 4 sides getting o the scoresheet

    Over 2.5 match goasl treble 1/1 (Bet365)

The Genk v Waasland games allso shouls see plenty of goals – Waasland shipped 6 goasl last week at home to Sint Truidense while Genk nhave won 2 from 2. Goal markets set quite hight at at over 4 but worth keeping an eye on – all 8 games pays 10/1 over 2.5

    ***********************************************************************************

    English Vanarama

Salford City v Barrow KO 3pm
Leyton Orient v Dover KO 3pm

Adam Rooney certainly hasnt wasted anytime since he moved from Aberdeen to Englands 5 tier – 5 goals so far this seasin and With Salford being strong at home they should edge this.

Meanwhile, Dover have the leakiest defence in the league and arent too clever on teir travels. Fancy the O’s to make hme advantage count

Salford / Leyton Orient double 21/10 (William Hill)

    **********************************************************************************

Conference North and South Goals treble

Jave had a good look through the card and these three look to be the pick of the bunch in terms of goals. Will be on Hull’s Billericay and matches at Bath and Ashton

    Billericay v St Albans
    Bath v Weston-S-Mare
    Ashton United v Darlington

Over 2.5 match goals double pays 5/2 (Bet365)

The Ashton game also looks a strong shout for over 3.5 goals at 6/5 as the two top goals per match teams meet

    **************************************************************************************

A good day yesterday with Dortmund and RB Leipzig bringing in the goals.

I see theres a lot of debate about the United v Spurs game tonight. Personally I don’t see Spurs losing but at the same time I’d expect a much improved performance from United. I don’t ever back the draw but I’d pluck for that tonight. A game where both teams should find the net. It feels like a 1-1 but apart from chucking it in a BTTS long shot acca. It’s one I’ll probably avoid.

Hi gents. No joy overnight in New York.

Couple of big games tonight, but the biggest in perhaps in the Dutch Eerste :D

Utrecht Youth were a side you could back against most weeks and profit from last season. They opened their campaign with a 5-0 loss at the Eagles, and Nijmegen beat them scoring 2+ in both games last season. Nijmegen scored twice most weeks last season and hoping the same tonight after a well earned 2-2 draw against one of the better teams in the league.

Double that up with Spurs to cover a 0.75 handicap at Old Trafford. Gone are the days where you’ll see a United fan back his side till he’s blue in the face. Just not there anymore. Its like we watch them then forget how poor they’ve been the week before. Spurs might not win, but they certainly won’t be losing by many, and a 1-0 defeat would see half the stake lost. The money is coming for United but I can’t see how. Goals look likely but you never know with United and Jose.

“Dreadful these UK games – not worth betting on and no value”

    2-2 at h/t and 3-2 on ’66 ?

Left red faced and I’m tucking tail after flagging that I fancied Poole to be the better side yet didn’t factor in Wimborne failing to score in a 0-4 home defeat. Feel like I’m cursed on Marathonbet – haven’t had a winner with them for months! Think I’ll stick to match goals in the lower leagues now.

Well done Hull, DC and WC though. Some belting winners from the usual suspects.

    • the stamp collector 6 years ago

Chin up Leroy- I couldn’t find the Wimborne/Poole match as was looking for mgls to add to my other line – as it turns out would’ve lost as I had Wrexham win, following earlier tip

  37. HullShaker 6 years ago

Not a great deal to go at tonight on the surface of things and I’m swerving the obvious EPL game for a more remote destination and, for me, an unorthodox bet…

UTC CAJAMARCA VS. ACADEMIA CANTOLAO (2100 KO):

I always maintain that if you turn over enough stones in the right places, there’s always potential value to be had – I initially looked at this one for goals but for a variety of reasons, left it out before looking at a different way in.

It’s rare that I back the Peruvian offerings simply for the fact that, although they run around like f*ck for 90 minutes, they can be pretty dull affairs and often end relatively goaless in comparison to other South American games.

However, there are always other options to goals and – like poor old Craneguy on his recent trip to Bangkok – I’ve had a few dabbles on the ‘alternative’ corner market!

The average Peruvian game this season has seen 9.92 corners per game with a slight favouritism for home sides. Cajamarca have seen 10-10-8-12-12-10-7 corners in each of their last 7 successive games with a season average of 9.54 to date.

Cantolao have averaged 8.21 corners in their game and whilst that’s substantially less than the hosts, it means they ought to contribute towards the target.

These figures make more sense if you consider Bet365 have the corner line set at 9…and even more sense when you consider we may well see a game with plenty of offensive play but limited goals.

Hopefully I’ll be waking up with a handful of the bookies money rather than a handful of waxed scrotum and the Crying Game music playing in the background like our hero from Paisley.

    Two selections:

  39. nathanufton 6 years ago

How do I send a private message on here guys? I could do with somebody with a level head to maybe look into a single/double that I think is overpriced. I’m thinking the bookies have dropped a bollock. Don’t want to post my thoughts publicly on it until I’ve weighed up everything AND shopped around. If I post, people will jump on it, the price will plummet and I will of shot myself in the bum.

    • heisenberg 6 years ago

Right here Nat it’s a open thread not aware of Private message facility unless someone else knows better share your tip ?

    • nathanufton 6 years ago

The reason I want to keep a lid on it is because I’m hoping I’ll get an unbiased opinion from several respected sources on this site. It will mean maybe 10-20 mins work on looking at the pro’s and cons, but if I can a general feel from the likely suspects on this site, if they reinforce my thoughts, then I’ll know I’m onto something and I can then summarize and post. When people are on the same page, it ticks the boxes and gives us the edge we need against the bookies. There is plenty of time to dot the I’s and cross the T’s on this one.

I very much doubt sharing a tip on here will influence any bookies odds mate.

    • nathanufton 6 years ago

I think this site has way more influence on betting patterns and prices than we think. I remember just last year, cannot remember the team or who tipped it, but I think it was 2nd tier Dutch footie and every week the site would jump all over this particular team and the goals bets would land more often than not. Lost count of how many times I’d seen the tip come up and price quoted, only to find it had dropped by 20-40%.

    • tigerman1 6 years ago

Must be Top Oss… Jordan surely loved that team ??

    • cockerspaniel 6 years ago

Surely the only way a price would drop that much was if there some big money going on to it. Good luck with it .

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

Depends how many people back it – sometimes it doesn’t take that many bets for bookies to cut odds.
Certainly fewer than it used to be.

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

You could put it on the forum and let the person know it’s there.
On the forum there is the facility for private messaging but no one really uses it.

    • nathanufton 6 years ago

Ok, I’ll post it up tomorrow. It is a 7/1 double or there abouts.

Here to receive a small slice of humble pie and to watch Macca the scouser gloat. In all seriousness its no point United delaying the inevitable the grim reaper MOANinho needs to go now,he’s absolutely killed his players confidence with remarks like finishing 2nd last season with that squad of players being his best achievement in management. He has lost the dressing room its plain to see.Hope he’s gone soon as I can’t put up with Macca napping them to get beat every week.

    • maccathered 6 years ago

Like i said i backed them last week and lost,i couldn’t see them winning tonight although i must admit when Lamela pulled his hamstring it was a concern, but the 6 changes evened it out for me.Now Mourihno is saying Man utd should of won lol

    A wee winner…

Atalanta scored in 19 minutes as part of a 3-3 thriller with Roma.

Keep an eye out for them beating goal time on Thursday away to Gothenburg who will need to come out at home…

Hope no-one followed my Halep thoughts below, trust me to take the world no1, only for her to be the big shock in round one ?.
Managed reasonable profit by backing Atalanta separately with one of Gregs Belgium selections.
Some cracking winners on the site today, WD ?

    —————————————-
Atalanta to beat the goal time of 73 minutes at 5-6 (bet365) worth considering today. They have scored in last 10 h2hs with Roma, and have started campaign with their shooting boots on (only blemish being Europa league game on Thursday).
I’ll be adding into Halep to win her tennis opener 2-0 (4-9) and 1 or 2 of Gregs SPL reserve favourites.
    Good luck all today ?
