TUESDAY didn't look an easy night for punters but in the end results weren't too bad.

In the FA Cup four of the five favourites won in normal time with a weakened West Ham the letdown but all five expected teams qualified at around 6-4. After seeing line-ups I thought Leicester and Cardiff were fielding strong enough teams to win.

Greg smashed it on French Ligue 2 goals bets with over 0.5 first-half goals and over 1.5 second-half goals. The latter was one goal short but all the rest came up early so there would have been cracking cash-out offers.

The Belgian both to score double I posted at Bruges and Oostende landed with a last-minute Oostende goal – I've substracted 1pt for covering half the stake.

My new challenge bet also came in with over 2.5 goals at Bruges and well done to Hullshaker for his York to score 2+ tip. Both of our games were 4-1 at half-time – his won inside 10 minutes.

Tonight there are another three FA Cup ties and again the favourites will rest players including Swansea who are 31-20 with McBookie at home to Championship leaders Wolves. However, Wolves will also play a weakened team so it's one to leave alone.

Chelsea were dire first time round against Norwich and will be expected to take care of them at Stamford Bridge but they are generally 1-4.

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe also tends to rotate for cup ties but after a 2-2 at the Vitality there should be more goals at Wigan who are also unlikely to go full strength. Both to score pays 8-11 at betfair and seven of Bournemouth's last eight FA Cup ties have gone over 2.5 goals. For now I'm leaving FA Cup alone – that may change after teams are revealed.

French Ligue 1 looks a better prospect and there are seven games. Leaders PSG are no bigger than 1-12 at Betway and should win with plenty to spare at home to Dijon. PSG -2 is 8-13 at betfair so difficult to find value.

Lille are in good form and are 6-5 at William Hill to beat Rennes who have lost four league games in a row. Amiens haven't scored in five and Montpellier interest with the away paying 13-10 at Ladbrokes. Metz v St Etienne should have goals while Nantes can avoid defeat at Toulouse at 1-2 with bet365.

It's quarter-final time in the Spanish Cup and remember these are two-legged affairs. Barcelona travel to city rivals Espanyol where they have conceded just one goals in six visits and haven't lost to their rivals in 18. It was 5-0 to Barca at the Nou Camp in the league last September and the away pays 7-20 at William Hill but they will rotate and a draw would be fine – as it was in the previous round against Celta Vigo – with a home again to follow

Atletico Madrid are home to out-of-sorts Sevilla and Valencia entertain Alaves as they go for four wins in a row.

For a Top Treble I'm going with Valencia and Atletico and adding Montpellier not to lose.

The Guingamp and Bournemouth games are taking on a both to score treble going by stats and I'm adding Metz v St Etienne – two teams who have been scoring regularly.

Well done to any winners on Tuesday and good luck tonight – I'll add top tips in the morning after checking team news.

Call me a mug but i am going to put my faith in the favourites all to qualify in tonights FA Cup matches. Not confident enough to back them all winning in 90 minutes but surely they should all go through even with squad rotation.

    Leicester
    Cardiff
    Sheff Wed
    West Ham
    Reading
    All to qualify 2.55/1

    Early one for the weekend…

    Montrose v Clyde

Top plays second bottom. Montrose have stumbled of late but haven’t played at home since 2nd January and will be itching to get back to winning ways in front of their own fans. Clyde are in dire straits and have scored 1 goal in 5 games. To be fair, they had been keeping things tight with three 0-0 draws in a row, but have since conceded 2 then 3 goals. Evens is far too big for the league leaders at home playing a team in such dire form, and I think the price will shorten come the week end. Only concern for me is the weather could be a levelling factor (if it stays like it is now) and the fact the game may get called off.

    Montrose win @ evens (***)

  10. saddler78 6 years ago

    Morning All.

    Wigan v Bournemouth
Bournemouth are Evens to qualify and that looks decent to me. I know Bournemouth will rest players but Wigan will not be at full strength either and they will certainly be prioritising their next league game over this one with promotion in their sights. Which ever way you carve it up we are still looking at a Premier League team v League One team so even money for Bournemouth to progress after extra time and penalties if required looks appealing. I am adding Chelsea to beat Norwich. Even with squad rotation i think Chelsea will beat Norwich convincingly tonight.

    Bournemouth to qualify
    Chelsea win
    6/4

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

I just wish teams like Bournemouth would target a cup run and play a strong side.

Just read this on twitter, tickled me :)

BREAKING: Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is having a medical at Stamford Bridge after proposing a £20m bid for West Ham striker Andy Carroll.

    • maccathered 6 years ago

He would be a crazy signing imo to many injuries even for £20 million,i don’t know what’s going on at Chelsea but something doesn’t seem to be right, take Alexis Sanchez for instance at one point they would have no hesitation in signing him but now they are more likely to sell players than sign and they have the thinnest squad they have had for some years, maybe it has something to do with the fact Conte will leave in the summer and they don’t want to buy big players only for another manager to come in and sell.

    • joe90 6 years ago

I cannot understand why they want to get rid of Conte brilliant manager but that’s Chelsea for you

Anyway got ma tenner back and fired the free bet on 2 £2.50 doubles. 2 picks at Monaco wi 5 mins to go with over 3.5 goals winning and red card live losing, 4 yellows each so was worth a wee go at 6/1. Doubled them up wi a RAB at Chelsea at 18/1. BTTS, 1+ corner each team each half & 20+ BP’s each team. Think it has a chance if as expected Chelsea rest a few players

    Swansea v Wolves.

Expecting a strong team to be named by wolves. Looks like Costa, Jota and Bonatini have traveled. Rumoured that Neves has travelled. Notable exception is Cavaleiro who hasn’t travelled yesterday.

I’d expect Morgan Gibbs-White to start and he looked good until having to be subbed following vinagres red.

I get that we’re championship and Swansea are Prem but feel that 2/1 is good value for a wolves win. When we played Swansea the other week we had the better chances and looked stronger even when we had 10 vs their 11.

I know I’m biased bein a wolves fan but I use my head when parting with my cash.

I usually bet 5 points for a nap and am avoiding saying nap and just going

2.5 points in a wolves win at 2/1.

Genuinely don’t think wolves will lose over 90 minutes and that is something I’m very confident on but at odds of 1/2 it’s not worth it. If it’s equal at 90 minutes then I’m certain it’ll go to penalties and at
    10/1 Wolves Win on pens
    Or
    10/1 Swansea Win on pens

I’ll risk 0.5 points on each of those.

    **Valencia vs Alves 18.00 ko**

Dani Parejo of Valencia to be booked 2/1 (Unibet)
Referee has produced 50 yellows in 12 games this season, avg 4 a game
Dani Parejo has the second highest amount of yellows in league this season with 10 in 18 games. He averages two fouls a game and this bet came in as recent as this weekend.
Valencia themselves have the 4th worst discipline record in La Liga playing against the second worst in Alves, suggesting it could be a dirty game

Valencia sit 3rd in the league and Alaves sit just above the relegation zone however I can’t see Valencia having it all their own way. Alaves have the 5th best record in the league vs the top 6 with Barca, Madrid, Atletico and Villareal the only ones better off vs top 6. Both sides have won 3 and lost 2 of their last 5 games and I think this could be a close affair.

Yet to see team news but Parejo has been named in the 18 man squad and has started every game this season, Valencia manager Marcelinho has spoken of needing a positive result in tonights first leg as it is at home, I can see him starting and a feisty affair and 2/1 is a great price

I will also be having a smaller stakes double in the Atletico vs Sevilla game with Gabi (Atl) 6/4 and Lenglet (Sev) 19/10. Ref has produced 47 yellows in 9 games, an average of 5, he has also shown 4 red cards in these 9 games! The double pays 6/1 at Unibet

    *Bets*
    D Parejo (Valencia) 2/1
    Gabi (Atl Madrid) 6/4
    Clement Lenglet (Sevilla) 19/10
    Gabi and Lenglet double 6/1

Good luck if following. May post more tips later, but posting these now as both kick off soon

    • chirry 6 years ago

Unibet not allowing the double as both in same game, apologies. I will be adding both to small stakes doubles with Parejo

Over 2.5 or BTTS – check odds in play, I’d take either bet at 4/6 ish or better

  27. GregBrowning 6 years ago

    Afternoon gents

The french top flight can be tough for goals and that’s reflected in that fact that 5 of the 6pm kick offs are odds against for over 2.5 match goal . The only game that’s not is the Lyon game and agree with Mr F that’s BTTS looks the call

Not much else jumping out so no NAP fro me – Instead im going to repeats last nights feat and stick to first goals goals

You are getting 1/2 and better for a goal to be scored only in the first half which I always believe is quite generous

Back the all six 6pm KO in France over 0.5 first half goals

    Pays 10/1 ( Paddy Power)

Back all 6 games over 1.5 match goals 6/1

    Chelsea v Norwich

Tend to avoid cup ties but I’m going to take a little chance on Chelsea getting back in the goals tonight.

I expect a similar side to the one that started the 0-0 snoozefest in Norwich, but that side should be capable of putting a couple past a championship side if they are at it today. Viewed outside of Chelsea’s immediately recent troubles in front of goal, the prices about Chelsea aren’t too unreasonable.

Their weakened cup sides have put 2 past Everton and Bournemouth (themselves rotated, but surely of Championship quality), and 5 past Nottingham Forest in home ties earlier this season. Hopefully they might manage to do so again tonight.

    African Cup of nations
    Sudan v Mauritania ko 19:00
Sudan sit on 3 points after a 2-1 win over Guinea in there opener Mauritania are pointless after a 4-0 defeat to Morocco.
Quite simply both teams need a result for different reasons. Mauritania lose and they go out. Sudan lose or draw and they need a last match result against Morocco who sit top on six points.
I therefore conclude both teams will have a go Mauritania have scored in 3/5 failing to score against Nigeria and Morocco and Sudan 4/5
Btts is 13/8 which I think under the circumstances is a massive price.

    Swansea v Wolves

    Teams announced.

Wolves fielding a changed lineup but strong to be fair and a big emphasis on attack. Enobakhare, Mir and Costa playing the forward roles.

Swansea have a changed side with a few players out of position and social media seems full on criticism.

We welcome back the most corrupt league in the world, where the officials fear for their lives if the away team wins:

Nigeria premier league: All 10 matches home win 13-1 Bet365

LOST 9 Homes, 1 draw, 1 away. Always for a punt though
