THE Premier League title race is on hold until Sunday so it's all about the fight for the top four on Saturday while we have the first Scottish Cup semi-final.
I've posted separate Scotttish and English previews where most of my top tips are reasoned. Also plenty of tips and match previews form the usual tipsters.
It should be an interesting day with some big issues to be settled at the top and bottom.
Hearts v Inverness in the Cup and Spurs v Huddersfield are the early games and it finishes off nicely with Man United v West Ham and Leeds v Sheffield Wednesday before the Masters hots up on Saturday night.
Last night Leicester let me down badly so the Top Treble and Jamie Vardy Super Single was downed as Brendan Rodgers' honeymoon ended with a one-goal defeat.
Well done to all the winners on Friday including kevinmac with three out of three on his Dundee Utd v Ayr preview including Paul McMullan to score at 12-5.

Don’t think we’ve ever been on the straight and narrow since liquidation in the early 90’s but not looking good at the minute with our latest owner being ‘advised’ to walk away from the club by his financial team after unearthing a much worse picture about the state of things left by the previous (and in my opinion crooked) regime.
I have to question their due diligence exercise prior to takeover mind – it was pretty common knowledge that the club was being shafted behind the scenes and that the complexity of issues ran much deeper than they appeared so it’s a bit rich hearing a team of experts are only just figuring it out now!
Staff and players not been paid for March as I understand and that correlates exactly with 3 ‘out of the blue’ defeats – today could be a tough ask.

Some leagues are getting to the business end and some are just starting, I have two selections from both ends of the scale:
Spal v Juventus – Sat 2pm
Spal are in need of picking up points to move further away from the relegation zone but Juventus are are up next and although they are likely to rest some big players they have some who can come in and prove a point. Not only that they are quality players not just back up. A win here will confirm them as champions but I expect Spal will have a go and may even take something.
From what I have read the likes of Dybala,Costa,Khedira,and Cuadrado are all likely to be starting the game which I think will lead to goals for the away team.

For my second selection today we head over to sunny Finland were the league has started and into game week 3.

two huge games in the National League North today, one of which I’m attending.
Altrincham v Chorley – 3PM
Chorley will be desperate for a win today as they’ve slipped down to second place for the first time in months, having been league leaders for pretty much the whole season so far. However Alty are no mugs and are also desperate for something from this game as they fight to be in and amongst the pack for promotion. Local rivals Stockport County will be praying we get something from today’s game, taking vital points off Chorley as it’s so tight at the top. Alty are in 5th place, with Bradford PA and Telford breathing down their necks they know any dropped points can result in slipping out of the top 7, out of promotion play-off places. They’ve been in cracking form – moreso away than at home, coming on the back of a thoroughly impressive 7-0 away win at Alfreton two weeks ago, last week was a disappointing 1-1 draw away at Telford – conceding in the 90th minute so Alty will be fired up for today and so will the crowd, myself included.
Prediction: both teams to score, score draw.
Stockport County v Byth Spartans – 3PM
County will be keen to continue their excellent form, particularly at home, and fight for another 3 points. For the first time all season they’re in 1st place and certainly won’t want to do a Stevie G and slip up today. They lead the NLN by a slim 2 points so a win today is vital. Blyth Spartans however will have something to say about that as they themselves have something to play for, they sit tantalisingly close to the play-off promotion spots – in 8th place – knowing full well that a win today could see them get into 7th place. Back in Nov.ember Blyth came out victors in a 3-2 goal-fest at home.
Prediction: both teams to score and County win.
The crux of the write up is that all 4 teams have something to play for today, and on a cracking sunny day this should hopefully lead result in two open games of football with chances at both halves. I’m putting my money where my mouth is and going for a BTTS double.

Going for the two favourites in these fights. Max Holloway is incredible, the guy has one won his last 17 fights and has not lost since 2013 (against McGregor) and in his last fight he not only beat the number 1 contender he landed 290 significant strikes with 134 strikes in one round beating the UFC record which gives you a picture as to the volume this guys throw. Poirier is no push over and actually beat Holloway back in 2012 but I cant see him keeping up with Holloway and will get TKO’d for me around the 3rd or 4th rd.
Adesanyer is just a freak. The guy can kick and punch you from any angle and I think he speed, agility and movement will be far too much for Gastelum who is great wrestler and power puncher but will get caught no doubt for me at some point in this 5 round interim title fight. I see Adesanyer winning this via head kick around the 2nd or 3rd round.
