WOLFSBURG won to land my Super Single but really Monday night belonged to Shortee.
The regular contributor was put through the wringer after being offered a just over a grand on a £35 bet paying £8k but still needing away wins for Huesca and Wolfsburg.
He ended up cashing out for around £2k just before Wolfsburg scored at Holstein Kiel.
His winning line paid 57-1 and it's great lift for a £35 investment. He should be thrilled but part of him is frustrated at cashing out after holding on for so long.
Shortee's trials and tribulations are a perfect example of why cash out is a such a complicated feature. I still believe he did the right thing because if he'd let it run and the bet lost he'd be more gutted.
He's got £2k in his bank and that's a great lift. Most punters love cash out and in fact demand it from their bookmaker but it's been introduced for their benefit and not ours.
I'm told bookies save between 3 and 5 per cent on payouts and as Shortee proved it's not easy to let a bet run its full course these days unless you decide to ignore any offer and that's difficult.
Anyway moving on and while there are some games dotted across the Continent in the minor leagues it's a no-bet day for me as I start my World Cup build-up. I've posted a preview of Group A and will add Group B tonight.

No such thing as a stupid question sir – yes, 5.0 means a ‘push’ if exactly 5 goals and a winner if more than 5.
Yours will mean that the stake is split – essentially you are placing two bets within your stake: half on 4 and half on 5+.
If 3 goals or less you’ve lost, 4 goals you’ve won half your stake + winnings but half stake lost, 5 goals happy days.
