LAST Saturday proved extremely profitable – and let's hope there's more of the same this weekend.
I reckon it's a tougher card and many of my tips are based on teams who have performing well but hit the road on Saturday – and that can be a hurdle.
So no big stakes for me and to be honest I'd accept a break-even day. Most of my picks are reasoned on the Scottish and English previews already posted and check out the usual tips by the regulars.
Well done to all the winners last night including Greg and HullShaker and Grant Heaney's first preview of the Falkirk v Ayr game was pretty decent.

@ admin, can you advise on what the maximum character/word size of posts is? I manged to cut and paste my Derby/Wigan thoughts but only managed to post the first half of it. If I know numbers, I can do a part 1 and a part 2 and come under the limit without waiting for admin to fish my report out of the trash/spam folder.
We have another MUST WIN home game for Derby where we entertain Sheff Wed. It will be the 2nd of 4 home matches – all winnable and all vital on the bounce ( rudely interrupted I believe by an international break ). I’d like to get my match thoughts in, in time.

Today sees bottom dogs central coast mariners take on wellington Phoenix, where both sides will be looking for the points for very different reasons, the mariners to try and avoid bottom spot again and the Phoenix to try and keep a hold of the final super 6 spot they currently occupy. My first thought for this game was cards- Ccm last 4 home games they have received 18, 2 of which were red. With a lot at stake neither side will be holding back. The h2h between these 2 is awful for goals but with a few suspensions for the mariners and the fact Phoenix have netted 3+ in recent times at an on form wsw, and high flyers the victory and Sydney I’m gonna take a risk on them for 3 goals today. Think it’s quite a hard game to call in Aussie this morning. Wellington have been totally off the boil the last few weeks, only scoring 3 in 6 which is a far cry from their free scoring early season form. They have gone from looking nailed on top 6 to allowing the Jets and WSW back into the race.

Perhaps to no surprise my main pick for the weekend is County.
They’re away at Brackley Town. Not an easy game on paper but in my opinion bookies have got County way overpriced here.
County are a huge 21/10 for the away win, over 2/1. We’re talking about a team who have not lost a match in 23 consecutive games – of those 23 they have won TWENTY and drawn 3 – equally strong on the road as they are at home.
Whilst I expect them to do enough for the away win, I’ve taken a more humble draw no bet, which is priced at a massive 5/4.
I’m using a larger stake from profits but i’m not recommending using a large stake. There’s risk involved with this bet, but for County to win the NLN, they need to treat every game like a cup final. They’re top of the league and want to keep it that way to win the title and gain automatic promotion to the National. I think they will at least get a draw out of this game and there’s value in the draw no bet. For a ‘safer’ bet I’d advise the BTTS, which is the NB.

I can’t get my head around the Hearts price today. How can they be 4/5 away to Dundee, when they were Evs away to Patrick Thistle? Hearts form has fallen off a cliff since Naismith got injured and he’s out for the season. Dundee have struggled in the top division, but they have improved a bit under the new manager and they are much better than Thistle, and also have a very good record v Hearts, even when they were at full strength and had better sides.

it’s torquay united time again, and i must admit that i am terrified that it’s all going to unravel just at the wrong time. we’ve a pitifully thin squad, just 15 on last count, and have been very lucky with injuries and suspensions. we have a real problem with our defence, despite having a full time defensive coach, we almost never keep a clean sheet. we have no real experience in our squad and very little physical presence when teams try to rough us up. apart from when owers was in charge this is our worse run of form, two defeats in four games. it’s only the fact that woking etc have all conspired to drop points too, that we’re still on top, only by our goal difference at the moment.
