Mr Fixit’s Top Tips: Killie can add to Hibs’ woes

THE Carabao Cup clashes just about went to form on Tuesday and there are another eight matches on Wednesday.

Colchester provided the big shock of the night as the stunned Spurs on penalties while there were easy wins for many of the favourites. Crawley knocked out Stoke but that wasn't an earth shaker.

My advice was to see teams before having a bet if that was possible and you would for example have confidently taken Man City, Leicester and Southampton on the strength of the line-ups.

It's the same story on Wednesday – go for goals or wait until you see confirmed teams.

Ties include MK Dons v Liverpool, Man United v Rochdale and Chelsea v Grimsby. On the Continent there are loads of big games in Spain, Italy and France including Real Madrid v Osasuna, Inter v Lazio and PSG v Reims.

In Scotland it's the Betfred Cup quarter-finals and I've posted a separate preview. Celtic and Rangers will make changes during a hectic spell but the other teams will be at full strength so no worries about team news.

I'm taking Killie at home to Hibs as the Super Single. Killie have steadily improved under Angelo Alessio after a disastrous start while Hibs sunk to the foot of the Premiership after Sunday's 2-1 derby defeat by Hearts.

Many people thought that would be the end for boss Paul Heckingbottom but the board have decided to give him more time but a Killie side conceding little is a tough and then Celtic visit in the league on Saturday.

I'm ignoring the Carabao Cup and going with a goals treble from Italy and a treble from Spain. Start with Napoli and over 1.5 match goals at home to Cagliari who haven't beaten their hosts in 12.

Roma v Atalanta has produced btts in five out of six and both sides have brought up the market in five of their last six matches. Genoa v Bologna btts also looks good on form but not h2h. Genoa's last five have landed as have four of Bologna's previous six.

Real Madrid are back on track after Sunday's win at Sevilla and should ease to victory against Osasuna. Taking realand over 1.5 match goals adds a little to the odds. Atletico Madrid should win at promoted Mallorca and Athletic Bilbao, always a better side on home soil, can continue their fine start by avoiding defeat at Leganes.

Also putting up a 1pt moneyback fivefold – hopefully no more than one of these favourites will lose at most. Lyon at Brest and Inter at home to Lazio are the two riskiest picks.

On Tuesday my Top Treble won but it was at 2-1 instead of 3-1 with Marseille draw no bet void. I also advised covering Juventus so overall it was a 5pts profit. My goals treble lacked strikes by Nottm Forest and Portsmouth – if I'd gone with overs and not btts it would have been a winner so that's frustrating.
