ANYONE getting into the Nations League – anyone fully understand it yet?
Scotland start their campaign at home to Albania on Monday and I like the fact Alex McLeish has kept it simple by telling players they could be four wins from Euro 2020.
Home victories against Albania and Israel combined with away draws then two play-off wins will take them there.
Scotland haven't qualified for a major tournament since 1998 so it shows just how important this tie is for McLeish and his men.
I've posted a separate preview but I don't think the Scots will get it easy against a side who won't give much away.
Other games include Portugal v Italy, Sweden v Turkey and Serbia v Romania and I'm hoping to follow Sunday's 19-5 Top Treble success – with 1pt deducted for covering. I lost 2pts on the Super Single as Denmark beat Wales fairly comfortably.
One of my legs was both to score at France v Holland and Greg's nap was over 2.5 goals there. Well done to HullShaker and all the other winners.
I've looked at all of tonight's games and there's not much that attracts. I'm starting my treble with under 2.5 goals at Montenegro v Lithuania. Montenegro are big favourites to win this but are without a victory in seven and haven't netted in their last three.
Lithuania are one of the most impotent and poorest travelling sides in international football and this has the feel of a 1-0 or even 2-0 home win so let's go with unders.
Sweden lost 2-0 to a friendly in Austria last week but it was basically a second-string and the main men will be back for Turkey tonight.
Neither side have too many stars but home advantage favours Sweden against a side defeated 2-1 at home to Russia on Friday. Marcus Berg will return to lead the line for the Swedes and I' backing them draw no bet.
Complete the treble with Serbia at home Romania. The Serbs beat their rivals home and away in World Cup qualifying. Both sides are in decent form but the likes of Dusan Tadic and Aleksandar Mitrovic give them more quality.
There have been a few tips for Portugal but being without Cristiano Ronaldo worries me and I'd be tempted to take both teams to score when Italy visit.
Kazakhstan should win at Andorra, Azerbaijan away to Malta and Kosovo at home to Faroes but I can#t put faith in them.
As far Scotland – I can't back them with great confidence although I hope Alex McLeish is successful in his first competitive in charge in his second spell.

Can’t see anything other than a home win here and whilst i don’t expect a thrilling encounter i do expect Portugal to get the job done.Italy are poor and have been for a long time now, couple that with two games in a short space of time for the Italians (which they tend to hate) add to that they are away you have to favour the home side against this lackluster Italy team.

Don’t know anything about this league so keeping stakes small. However, stats suggest some value on the home side who have W5 D1 in last homes stretching back into last season (W2 D1 this campaign). Chelyabinsk have had a terrible season so far, rooted to the foot of the table with 2 points from 7 games (D2 L5).
A note of caution – prior to their good run Lada had a terrible home record including a 4-0 trouncing at the hands of Chelyabinsk. However, I’m hoping form is more important than history and will stick small stakes on the below for interest during the day:

Basford have been a decent side to back for goals for a couple of seasons now and the net continues to bulge in the vast majority of their games.
Their last outing on Friday saw 4 goals in the cup as they exited stage left in a surprise defeat which has prompted gaffer Martin Carruthers to ask players for a real response tonight against a “transitional” Matlock side whom he thinks are ripe for the picking
The last time these two met was also in the Cup and ended square after 90 minutes with 2 goals apieceback in January 2017 – time may have slipped by but the goals are still present!
Their last 2 home leage games saw then hit 4 and 3 past Farsley and Grantham respectively and that brings their match goals totals to 24 across the last 6 in all competitions…a nice round average of 4 per game which is bang in line with their averages towards the end of the last campaign.
Matlock may be in a lesser vein of form but there’s no shortage of goals in their own games with 3-3-3-6-4-4 in consecutive matches – I reckon it could be another game where goals take centre-stage and with the hosts looking to make amends for Friday, I fancy two selections:

I’m never one for betting with my heart (that’s been proven the amount of times I’ve backed against St Johnstone over the years) – and to back Scotland at the moment is brave, possibly even foolish but I think we will nick a result tonight.
Scotland v Albania KO 7.45pm
Belgium brushed aside Scotland with minimal fuss or effort on Friday night but this is a completely different proposition. I don’t think it’s going to be pretty and a less than half full Hampden park is real ghost town, however this is a crucial match and one in which we need to win.
Albania as we know are no longer the whipping boys they once were and have a better qualification than us in recent years (that’s not hard right enough), they’ll make this extremely difficult and look to hit on the break but we still have some good players and hopefully Fridays hammering will have given the players a real kick up the backside. Albania had a great result at home to Israel and will be looking to make it maximum points but I’m hoping Home advantage comes into play here, I don’t think we have ever lost 4 home games in a row and I don’t think that will be reality at 9.30pm tonight
In terms of stats to and recent form, there’s not much to go on from a Scottish perceptive – I just feel the players need to rally and owe themselves and the fans a result.
Its been pouring of rain in Glasgow and after heavy rain yesterday, the pitch will be nice and zippy. its a important game for both countries and will have the feel of a qualifier rather than a friendly which could make it tasty affair
