WHAT did we discover on Wednesday? We found out Scottish women are just the same as Scottish men.
Just like many men's sides of the past Scotland's women somehow exited the World Cup despite leading Argentina 3-0 at one stage.
And we managed to go out in the cruelest possible fashion to a soft penalty which was the missed but ordered to be retaken by VAR.
So while Shelley Kerr's side are heading home I'm not quite on the road back yet.
It's day 3 of my golfing holiday and a trip in the morning to play upmarket Archerfield. Desmond's managed to get us a game by promising winning tips next season to one of the members.
Italy Under-21s failing to score against Poland beat my Top Treble and while I'm taking a couple of days off as I enjoy the apres golf to the full I've decided to put up a Super Single which is technically a Friday match.
Uruguay v Japan at Copa America looks a mismatch. Japan's mainly Under-22s were hammered 4-0 by Chile first time out while Uruguay, inspired by Luis Suarez and Edison Cavani, battered Ecuador 4-0.
I can see another big score for the favourites and while Suarez and Cavani are worth backing to score I'm on Uruguay -2AH – stake back if they win by exactly two.
Watched the Scotland v Argentina game in a brilliant pub and the night was perfect until VAR intervened.

An interesting game this one – Argentina may have Messi and Co but there’s plenty of truth in the rumblings of discontent and lack of infastructure in the once great national side over the last year or so.
That lack of success has been mirrored by further fractures in the national youth set-up and I reckon Paraguay may pose a very real threat – they may have cracked under (rather impressive) Qatar pressure to lose a two goal lead but Paraguay’s very recent upsurge in Copa Sud and Libertadores success is no coincidence…they are a very solid outfit and a big price to make a mark here:

The Japanese start a stronger outfit than in previous fixture but this is still a game I expect the Uruguayans to dominate, they racked up 6 1st Half corners against Ecuador and hopefully can replicate the same feat here.
Ecuador went down to 10 men on 24 mins in that game but shouldnt really matter here, hopefully get a decent game for corners, cards & goals. The Japs were quite fast counter attacking v Chile from what I saw of it the 2nd half and finished on 8-7 to them on corners.
I feel Uruguay are far more organised and solid defensively than the Chileans for the Japanese to cause them too much of a threat on the counter. Expect one way traffic in 1st Half but also think the Japanese will be tough to breakdown early on which hopefully will help corner count.
