ALL eyes will be on St Mary's as the FA Cup fourth-round line-up is completed on Thursday night.
Southampton v Derby is tough to call and again seeing line-ups will be vital. Check out Scott's preview and look at nathan's tips with the Rams fans saying Derby need to be knocked out and concentrate on the Championship.
Last night's cup games produced one shock with Shrewsbury winning at Stoke and two if you include Newcastle, who made eight changes, edging past Blackburn in extra time.
Rafa Benitez interestingly had made comments similar to nathan yet the players he put on the pitch went out to win the game and Rovers were favourites courtesy of Newcastle's well-known contempt for an FA Cup run. The other tie saw Sheffield Wednesday win at Luton who by all accounts were unlucky not to force extra time.
Apart from the Southampton game we have Juventus v AC Milan competing for the Italian Super Cup in Jeddah and three Spanish Cup games – Atletico Madrid (1) v (1) Girona, Sevilla (3) v Athletic Bilbao (1) and Leganes (0) v Real Madrid (3).
These are second legs and you have to fancy Atletico who are unbeaten at home with seven clean sheets out of 10 and Sevilla whose opponents rested players for the first leg and are likely to do so again. Real won't be busting a gut after winning 3-0 at home. Team news is vital for these and all cup ties.
There are five French Ligue 1 games including Monaco v Nice and St Etienne v Marseille and I'm focusing on those for my Top Treble.
Nice can win against a Monaco team totally out of sorts but boosted by the arrival of Cesc Fabregas. He made his debut in a 1-1 draw with Marseille who now head for St Etienne. Again I like St Etienne who are on form and up to fourth. Take Nice +1, St Etienne +1 and Rennes +1 at Guingamp.
Rennes again are a form side and should win but they tackle a side who must be boosted by their cup win at PSG although they followed up with a 1-0 home defeat to St Etienne.
For the Super Single I planned a double on Juventus and Atletico Madrid but I was holding off to see if Cristiano Ronaldo starts and he does in a strong line-up.
Juve remain unbeaten in the league and are 20 points clear of Milan so there is a gulf in class.
My fourfold last night was a bit ambitious but well done to all the winners including Andrze, shortee and kevinmac who tipped a draw at Blackburn in his preview.

Clash of styles today in that mariners games are usually open goal laden affairs (44 in 12 games this season) whilst this year city’s games have been pretty tight (even dreary) affairs. The stats look fairly promising for goals, (last 5h2h at central coast stadium seen btts) but I’m going with cards and corners today, simply down to city being fairly dull and boring (imo). Even tho they have been the worst team in the league for a few years now, the mariners have always been good for corners especially at home. In 4 home games this year they’ve racked up more than Perth glory (top) Sydney (2nd) and Adelaide (6th) comfortably beating all 3 in the rt5 despite losing every match. My biggest mistake last night was not going with my first instinct in a game where I flagged the probability of corners but then added goals into the mix!
Valur have been my ‘go to’ corners team in the Icelandic Urvalsdeild for a couple of seasons now and it’s rare to see a game when they don’t rack up a decent count – the worry with corners will always be that as a game progresses with goals, the likelihood of corners usually diminishes!
Given Fjolnir have home advantage here and not Valur, the hosts will want to make a decent showing after a disappointing campaign last year, I reckon that corner count will ratchet up as Valur exert their dominance down the flanks but come up against plenty of tackles, kick-outs and saved shots.

I’m still having problems posting. I did a preview before the Leeds game to drop on the days thread. It disappeared. I then did a brief summary. That also disappeared. Do not know what is up with it. Might try a different browser.
Leeds deserved to beat Derby, they had a legit penalty deemed offside in the first minute and Derby never once got a foothold in that match Leeds were not as good as they were when they beat us 4-1, but they were good. Derby were absent, 2nd to every loose ball. Derby did have a legit penalty shout turned down and a blatant red card missed for the studs up challenge to Derby’s Holmes from their keeper. As the ref missed it, it is down to the FA. I don’t think a sending off would of changed the outcome either.
Today we face Southampton away. After a gutsy fightback that could of yielded a stoppage time Derby winner, The winner faces Accrington Stanley in the next round. I personally think Derby and Southampton have bigger fish to fry. The league football !!.. As much as I’d love to see Derby win, I think if Derby are serious about mounting a renewed attack on the top of the championship, Derby need to be out of this competition. It is televised on BBC. Most of the top 6 in the championship are out of the competition, Derby need to follow suit. Derby have looked a bit toothless of late and although we do have a tendency to score away from home ( 85% chance before the Leeds game ) – which we lost to nil, I really don’t know if we’ll score tonight. I’d like to see Derby beaten in 90 minutes for the 5 hr bus trip back to Derby.
