TUESDAY'S a huge night with the Champions League taking pride of place alongside plenty of domestic league matches.
I've posted a separate preview of Dundee v Hearts as the leaders aim to move six points clear at the top.
In my Champions League preview I've focused on the games in Man United and Man City's groups and there are already plenty of individual match previews posted.
Man United have a tough task at home to Juventus as Cristiano Ronaldo returns to Old Trafford while Man City travel to a Shakhtar Donetsk side who beat them in Ukraine last season. Initial thoughts are Juve +1 and both to score in the City game and it would be just like Ronaldo to hog the hedlines with a goal.
There are loads of games in England with action from the Championship, League One and League Two and I'm still going through them. As has been said probably too many matches to look at so it's low stakes tonight but have decided to start by putting up the Super Single and Top Treble in today's Daily Record.
I've added a moneyback fivefold that features League One leaders Portsmouth at home to Burton as well four other homes – Middlesbrough are short but should see off Rotherham and Charlton can build on their defeat of Barnsley by edging out an Oxford who can be tough to break down.
Add Sheffield United, going for five wins ins six, at home to a Stoke side sitting much lower in than expected after a 1-0 home defeat to Birmingham at the weekend and complete with MK Dons who should beat a Notts County side hammered at Bury at the weekend.

BURY VS. NEWPORT COUNTY:
Obviously I use the term ‘fortress’ loosely; yes, we have crept into the playoff places although clearly not on the merit of out defensive talents!
Newport will be a much sterner test than the poor Notts County side we humped 4-0 on Saturday – The Exiles sit a tied 3rd place on points and have some pretty damn impressive form under their belts although a red card last time out and various injuries may just see them light at the back.
That said, it would be naive to ignore their ability to score away from home – they have failed to score only once on the road in their last 7 league matches and that combined with our inability to defend (only 3 clean sheets in 16) certainly paves the way for what should be 90 minutes of pretty open football.
One to watch is our on-loan striker and former big-hitter Nicky Maynard who has already netted 4 goals in 5 games with 3 of them being the matches first goals – with stories of a decimated Newport squad rife, it may just pay to back goals (and hopefully Bury goals) here.

Upon looking at todays card I have to agree with various folk like mr f and @leroy etc who have said on Saturdays there is nearly too much fixtures to look at and bet on and today is our midweek Saturday
Sometimes you prefer less games and it makes you study more.

My second selection will be questionable too some but I think there’s some value too be had with Millwall against a poor travelling Wigan outfit.
Millwall like Wigan are a different animal at home, both struggle on their travels and 5 points between them on the road back up this opinion. Infact Wigan have the best home record in the division with 17 of their 20 points coming from home matches and just 3 away.
Millwall have played 6 home games winning 2,drawing 2 and losing 2 scoring 10 & conceding 10. However if you look at the sides that have visited the Den so far the that record seems better than it originally does. They’ve faced Middlesbrough 2-2,Derby 2-1,Swansea 1-2,Leeds 1-1,Sheff Utd 2-3 and they beat Villa 2-1 in their last home match. Barnsley would have let a few down at the weekend in their 2-0 loss to Coventry but the week before they made me happy at luton with a small aca at 11/10. Their last 5 games at home read 0-2.6-0.1-0.2-2.2-0 with 4 from 5 achieving the 1.5 line
Barnsley last 5 have all achieved 1.5 in 2-0.3-2.0-4.1-1.1-3 and away from home its 4 out of 5 achieveing the line again, no reason for the trend not to continue and I do fancy them to win the game but the safer option is for both teams to be playing for you and in this case im happy to start my 1.5 treble with them.

Well, bitter-sweet at Gigg – Nicky Maynard’s 23rd minute goal gave me an 8/5 and a 5/1 winner but despite their dominance, Bury failed to get a 2nd so ended up pretty much even on the night…could and should have been much better!

I’ll try to find something that jumps out regards Derby’s trip to West Brom tomorrow ( 8pm kickoff). Although I’ve erred on the side of caution this past 2 Derby matches by not putting in a preview, I think I might try to put something down, but it will again be something nice and simple, I called btts against QPR, it come in, I called btts in the Sheff Utd game, and a tiny double result in that same match for the Rams, that came in. Lincoln burst my bubble on Saturday, but I think that caught a lot of us off-guard. Some matches just do not take well to an early red card for the favourites.
Derby’s Brsyon got on the scoresheet in 19 seconds on Saturday and he’s now playing with a swagger, Sheff Utd had a good 20 minute period late in the first half to draw level, then Derby upped a Gear and at 1-1, Derby cleared a goal bound headed corner off the line. Marriot got a boot on a well struck quick cross to end the match 2-1 winners. His 2nd in 2 league matches.I did say 17/10 for a Derby win was generous. But Derby did look good value for the win.
A few players in a Derby shirt are starting to find their groove and I’ve been particularly chuffed with Liverpool loanee Wilson. He scored a peach of a freekick against Man Utd at Old Trafford, then repeated the exact same freekick for Wales against Ireland. It bent, the gk took a step to the left, the ball seemed to either stop curling or weaved back the other way, but both goals left both keepers rooted to the spot and outfoxed them. Bryson is upping his tally too with 2 in 2 games but went off injured early in the first half – that kinda led Sheff Utd into their 20 min spell of dominance. I hope he’s back tomorrow.
I said to a buddy of mine as we listened to the last match, if we can grab 4 pts from these 2 games, its a good 4 points. If we can just tidy our basics up a little, we might even sneak a win at the Hawthorns tomorrow given how good we looked going forwards. We broke Sheff Utd’s 4 match winning streak, they were 2nd in the league, before a ball was kicked on Saturday, WBA sat 3rd. Dare we believe we can beat 2x top 6 sides in 4 days?? Its possible. But I’d only drop it in a small single.
