GREG took the honours on Monday with two over 3.5 singles at 10-11 while Real Betis made me suffer.

I needed them not to lose to complete a 13-10 double and with 10 men they collapsed to a 5-0 defeat at Eibar.

If you're going to lose you might as well lose spectacularly. Tuesday sees the return of the Champions League and I've posted a preview which covers the three British teams in action – Liverpool, Man City and Spurs – and all of the other games.

Elsewhere there are loads of English lower-league games to study and three matches in Scotland.

Well done to all last night's winners including maccathered who went against the majority of opinion with his overs tips at Brighton v Stoke.

I've spent the morning looking at form and stats in the RFO and here's some brief reasoning for my tips.

The Super Single is a double on Forest Green not to lose and and I've added Shrewsbury not to lose after the Inverness v Brechin game was called off. FG have been on my radar for some weeks and they've taken 13 points from 15 to start moving clear of the drop zone. Tonight they travel to basement boys Chesterfield and if they hadn't beaten Exeter at the weekend I'd be taking Forest Green at a big price.

For my Top Treble I'm starting with Aston Villa to beat Sunderland. Chris Coleman is a good appointment for the Makems but he'd need to be a miracle worker to have an immediate effect. The ex-Wales boss will have a clearout in January and that's when we should see a revival kick in. Villa are in decent form with three wins in five and should come out on top here.

Add fourth-placed Bristol City at home to falling Preston who still have injury concerns. City continue to impress and at home have lost just once. Preston are now without a win in seven and it's no goals in three.

Complete the treble with Shrewsbury at Bury. This is bottom v top and Shrewsbury attract at odds against on a visit to a side whose players told boss Ryan Lowe they weren't good enough after losing 3-0 at home to Blackburn at the weekend. That followed a 2-0 FA Cup defeat to Woking.

Bet of the Day will be added later and I'll start another Betting Challenge and make an attempt to go from £10 to £1000 in time for Christmas.

You have to feel for Sunderland fans been through the mill with their team and you can only blame poor management, they should of kept hold of Borini but they wouldn’t pay the asking fee and now that seems a little price financially for what they have lost, can see Villa pasting them tonight.

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

Agree on Villa. Teams usually get a new manager bounce but like West Ham on Saturday this will take some hard graft from Coleman before we see a major improvement.

    Morning gents,

Decent looking card for a Tuesday!

I’m heading down to the National League North hot on the heels of a local side destined for the drop…

KIDDERMINSTER HARRIERS VS. NORTH FERRIBY UNITED:

To be fair to North Ferriby, they have a really poor squad but are managing to keep things tight for large portions of the majority of games.

The common denominator is the fact that they are holding out for 45 minutes before getting absolutely shooed in the 2nd half – this has been a pattern from day one of the campaign.

Not a lot of obvious value in this game so may well pay to pre-mortem the 90 minute outlook:

    OVER 1.5 SHGS…8/13
    ?????

    ****************************

    FYLDE VS. GUISELEY:

Again, value at a premium here as bookies tighten up on Fylde’s antics so a look beyong goals to goalscorers may pay dividends.

I flagged Fylde’s Danny Rowe to scpre and Saturday and he bagged a brace – same again for me:

    ROWE ATGS…20/21
    ???

    ****************************

    Best of luck.

    Seville v Liverpool
Over 3.5 goals at 11/8 (NAP)
Liverpool to win at 6/4 (nb)
A win in Seville for Liverpool will see them through and i see no reason why they cannot get it.Liverpool remain unbeaten in europe thus far and are clicking into gear and playing how we know they should play, they are averaging 3 goals per game which we have seen in 5 out of the last 6 also breaking a record v Nk Maribor, defensively they have been sound keeping 3 clean sheets out the last four which is some improvement so Mr f statement that Liverpool are sweating for a place in the last 16 is far from the truth, again i expect an open game between these two but with the premier league’s current top scorer and probably the buy of the season Mo Salah’s form goals looks on the menu and over 3.5 should be do-able,when these two met at Anfield Liverpool dominated only for two defensive errors letting Seville back into the game but with Gomez proving to be a talented individual in Liverpools backline i see no reason for them not to hold onto any lead they take.
    Best of Luck.

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

I think Liverpool will make it. The “sweating” is in only by contrast to Man Utd and Spurs so you’ve taken that the wrong way.

    • maccathered 6 years ago

Of course Liverpool will make the last 16 they probably go the furthest of all the English sides,no ones sweating Mr f.

Hey @maccathered you’ve got ya rose tinted Liverpool glasses on again pal. Your a good tipster and I follow a lot of your tips till it comes to Liverpool.
You’ve got 8 points two draws and six points from Maribor the poorest team in the competition.
3.5 gls is very likely but the majority will be Seville goals in my opinion.
A defeat tonight and a Moscow win against Maribor will indeed leave you sweating.
      A Seville won for me.

I’m not sure about tonight’s game but one thing you need to take into account is Sevilla’s home record.
They’re much better at home than they are away.

    • maccathered 6 years ago

So were Hoffenheim mr f they had a great record at home until we visited.

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

Hoffenheim don’t have Euro experience though like Sevilla. As I said I’m not convinced about anything there tonight but both sides should score.

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

Just to confirm – Super Single is a double on Forest Green not to lose and Inverness.

    • renwick 6 years ago

Agree with you Mr F, this should see goals with Sevilla scoring at least one goal in every champs league home game they’ve played in dating back to 2007.

With the scousers keeping just 2 clean sheets in there last 10 away champs league games…one of them was against Debrecen.

In terms of this season, Liverpool haven’t keep a clean sheet in there 6 away league games with 5 of the 6 going over 2.5. Sevilla have scored in all 6 home league games too this season.

Shrewsbury are bankers tonight 10-11. Bury players have come out and said there not good enough. Says it all they are in a rihht mess

    • hampy 6 years ago

Probably more they’ve lost their focus than they are not good enough. Once the confidence has gone its hard to get it back. The team has more of a problem with defence than attacking but can’t see any light at the end of the tunnel. Id say likely away win defo but wouldn’t be surprised to see a bury goal either

I’ve got 5 previews for today’s games, here’s one of them.

19:45 Monaco vs RasenBallsport Leipzig – Prediction 2.2

Best Bets – BTTS @8/15, BTTS and over 2.5 goals @5/6

    Key Facts

    * Monaco have seen BTTS in 3 of their 4 CL fixtures this season and in 8 of their 10 CL fixtures in 2017
    * Monaco sit bottom of the group, 2 points behind their opponents
    * Monaco have kept only 2 clean sheets in their last 9 home CL fixtures while they have seen BTTS and over 2.5 goals scored in 4 of their last 6 at home in the CL
    * Monaco have not won any of their last 6 CL fixtures. They had won 8 of their previous 12
    * RBL have seen BTTS and over 2.5 goals scored in 4 of their last 5 away fixtures (in all competitions)
    * RBL have kept only 1 clean sheet in their last 9 away fixtures (in all competitions)
    * RBL have seen BTTS in 3 of their 4 CL fixtures this season with both of their matches against Porto seeing BTTS and over 2.5 goals scored
    * RBL have conceded 2 goals or more in each of their last 3 CL fixtures
    * RBL have conceded 2 goals or more in 5 of their last 6 fixtures in all competitions

    Final Verdict

I expect goals in this contest with Monaco knowing only a win will do if they are to keep their slim chances of qualification alive but they should face a stiff test in the shape of a RBL side that are still very much in the hunt for qualification themselves.

Both sides have performed well domestically with Monaco 2nd in Ligue 1 and RBL 3rd in the Bundesliga but Europe has been more of a struggle, in particular for Monaco who sit bottom of the section with only 2 points achieved thus far.

Neither side have impressed greatly in this seasons competition though with RBL looking somewhat naive in their first ever foray into the Champions League, leaking 8 goals in their 4 ties although, with 4 points collected, they still have a chance to qualify. Those defensive frailties were on show once more domestically as they managed to throw away a 2.1 lead at Leverkusen this past weekend, despite the hosts being reduced to 10 men. Still, they always have goals in them and that’s what I expect here.

Meanwhile, Monaco have struggled following the breakup of the talent-ridden team that rode the crest of a wave last season in reaching the semi-finals of the competition. 2 points from 4 games played is a big disappointment for a side that still have the likes of Falcao, Keita Balde, Jovetic and Fabihno in their ranks.

Ultimately I expect both sides to play for the 3 points on offer so goals should be on the cards. BTTS is short but solid @8/15 while BTTS and over 2.5 goals @5/6 is also a favourite of mine for this fixture that could finish as a high scoring draw although a home win with both scoring wouldn’t surprise me either.

If you want more of these, you know where to look.

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

Nice one, I expect goals too.

    Hello everyone, greetings from Uganda.

My prediction for tonight’s games are focused mainly on the uefa champions league.

    Champions league predictions.

    Spartak Moscow vs Maribor.
(I fancy a win for the Russian side. Although I expect the Slovenian giants to slot in a goal at least, so btts should be a better price with a higher risk though.)

    Sevilla Vs Liverpool
I expect a high scoring game with both sides contributing. ( I however expect Liverpool to edge out the home side. Away win and btts)

    Apoel Fc Vs Real Madrid
Real Madrid should win this game with much more ease than their first encounter.( real Madrid -1)

    Besiktas Vs Fc Porto
This game will most likely see both sides netting although I fancy Porto not to lose. (btts, x2)

    Dortmund Vs Tottenham
I see both sides netting on this game tonight. ( btts and 02.5)

    As Monaco Vs RB Leipzig
I see both teams fighting for nothing but a win. This should therefore contribute to both teams netting tonight. (btts , O2.5)

    Ssc Napoli Vs Shakhtar Donetsk.
This should be an interesting game to watch. To attacking sides that play attractive football. Both teams are leading the tables domestically although the away slipped to a loss in their last game at home. I expect both teams to score. (btts)

    Man city. vs feyenoord.
For this is a no bet game. The home side should however win this even with a weakened team.

I however looked through other games and my predictions include.

    (English championship)

Bristol city Vs Preston North end. ( home win)

    Aston villa Vs Sunderland
    (btts)

    Millwall Vs Hull city
    ( btts)

    (England league one)

    Oxford united Vs Blackburn
    (btts)

    Bury Vs Shrewsbury
    (O2.5)

    (Northern Ireland )
    Coleraine Vs Ards(O2.5)

    Dungannon swifts Vs Crusader( O2.5)..

    Wish you luck. Cheers.

Breaking a few of my own betting rules tonight and tomorrow, and tackling some shorter prices in the process. It has been a decent month, although stop start due to the international break, so I’m willing to break the first rule by heading towards the WDW and handicap markets instead of solely goals. However, I really can’t see beyond a comfortable win for City tonight.

Adding in-form Oldham to score for the 17th consecutive game in all competitions. Coleraine, whose 2-2 draw at Glenavon and unlucky 2-1 defeat away at Linfield still demonstrates good form, should get back to winning ways tonight in style. They’ve scored 2+ in every home game and beat Ards 0-3 in the September reverse.

    Man City -1 Handicap
    Oldham To Score

    Double @ 3/4 (Stan James)

    Add: Coleraine O1.5 Team Goals

Treble @ 32/25 (Bet365) *This is -1.5 Asian on Man City to get these odds.
    ____________________________________________________________________

The second rule I’m breaking is backing heavy favourites at much shorter odds than I’d like. Not exactly screaming value, but I’m taking three sides at home that really ought to win comfortably tonight by backing goals.

    Man City
    Coleraine
    Kidderminster

    O1.5 Team Goals Treble @ 5/6 (Bet365)

    Hey guys
Theres a new sportsbook app that boosts your odds up after you place a bet, not sure if i can mention the name of it on here, but i had original odds of 4 and it boosted to 24 for tonite, some guy apparently got 800/1 for b.munich to win the weekend, doesnt boost every bet but well worth doing imo

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

It’s been mentioned before but all the chat is if you get a win on big price boost you might not see another.
Not much different than getting free bets or offers when you open an account.

    Derby team news:

    Carson
    Baird/Keogh/Davis/Forsyth
    Ledley/Huddlestone
    Lawrence/Vydra/Weimann
    Nugent

Just 1 change, Johnsons tweaked his hamstring and in comes Weimann.

Since We lost to Qpr in the playoff finals, we’ve played them 4 times, last season beating them 1 nil twice, we beat them the season before 1 nil at home and lost at Loftus Rd 2 nil.

I’m still itching to see us unleash Thorne who must be very close to fitness. He just inspires confidence in those around him. I think the 2 holding midfielders is a very negative way to go about our game. 1 is enough, but clearly neither of them are good enough to get the job done on their own. This hits us in the going forward bit because we’re at least a man short.
Our midfield – attack linkage is still not quite there and Vydra and Nugent ( in that order seem to be our main goal threats ).
We played ok at Fulham at the weekend, we were fortunate not to concede a penalty, unfortunate to concede the freekick that led to their goal – No keeper in professional football should be beaten by a freekick that hits the back of the net – right in the middle of the goal. Carson managed it. We got the equaliser and even before when we marched in to the tunnel at ht, you could sense that Derby would get a reaction. My reaction was to drop a £20 on the Derby win at 11/1. The Vydra goal came and I let it ride because the whole momentum shifted in Derby’s favour. It remained 1-1.

Derby’s problem is home form, we’ve been terrific on the road, but we’ve only lost once in the league in our last 9 total matches. I think QPR are ripe for plucking 3 points which is why I have dropped my pot on for a Derby win with betfair @ 20/23. I have also added Kidderminster and Man City wins to my treble.

As much as I hate to say it, I think Burton could fall through the trapdoor this season, away to an improving Brentford is a daunting place for Burton to go to. Brentford look like a decent 4/9 to add to anyone’s coupon.

    Good luck folks.

Ht recap on my bet so far:

    Kidderminster 4 nil up
    Derby 1 nil up
    Man City 0-0

Just need man City to up their game a little.

Derby have really been forced to find a different path in this game with Ian Holloway’s Qpr parking the bus with 5 at the back and 4 in front of them when we have the ball and 4-4-2 when they have the ball.
It’s been a bit disjointed particularly for Derby. The crosses have been below average, the pace of buildup in the last 3rd has been too slow to react to our own attacks leaving Qpr time to park the bus, I really feared that this game would be a disappointing 0-0 because of Holloways record against Derby won 1 nil, drawn 2 prior to this game, but Derby grabbed the lifeline in the final minute of stoppage time. A ball found its way to Weimann who ran the length of the pitch, Vydra joined the attack, took the cross and the rest as they say is history.

1 nil the Rams and once again Vydra is on the scoresheet . Shame it took us 48 minutes to register our first shot at goal.
If Holloway’s Qpr are to get anything from this match, they will have to open up their own game-plan, OR limp away with a 1 nil loss. Does he stick or does he twist? If this doesn’t end 1 nil, I feel Derby will have more chances to extend the lead
but Qpr will have to leave gaps. The goal was a lightening counterattack from Weimann down the wing. It caught Qpr out and dare I say it – most of us fans.

Typical, with Kidderminster 4 nil up at ht, no cashout is offered since betting is suspended on that component of my treble.

    £136.07 staked on
    Derby 20/23
    Man City 1/9
    Kidderminster 2/13

    Derby 2 nil

    new balance of £322.73

I see there were a few teams in the championship that either dropped points against teams you’d of thought they’d win and the likes of Reading and Sheff Utd be on the receiving end of the topsy turvy nature that is weekly championship football. But still Reading fight back from 2 down. Its now 2-2.
For the benefit of the site, i’m glad to get back on track with a couple of winning tips, I hope a few of you made a few quid.
I hope the rest of you managed to avoid the banana skins. I’m not sure yet, but I might take a look at what is going off in the America’s, otherwise I am likely to have a little dive into a few champions league matches tomorrow.

FYI, QPR were terrible today. If they’re playing away from home, i’d seriously consider betting against them. God knows how they’ve managed to beat Sheff Utd and Wolves.
