IT wasn't a great return to league action with plenty of shocks at home and abroad.
The likes of Spurs, Wolves, Atletico Madrid, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich would have downed tens of thousands of lines.
In Scotland Motherwell's big defeat to Aberdeen was a shock to many while Dundee United, Ayr and Inverness all slipped up in the Championship.
Scottish Cup results were even stranger with many minnows doing well such as Broxburn, Lochee United and even Fort William. But I wasn't surprised by Auchinleck beating Cove Rangers.
One cup game went for me as Elgin -1 landed my Super Single at 10-11.
It was a better day for Greg who provided almost a full house of winners so well done to him – and anyone else who profited on a difficult day.
I tend to go with form and stats so if form goes out of the window I'm going to lose and that's the way it goes with betting sometimes.
Plenty to look at on Sunday including Man United v Liverpool and Hearts v Rangers.
For now I have another -1 Super Single and I believe Rangers will win pretty easily at Tynecastle and return to the top of the table. Saturday's Scottish preview has all the reasoning.
The Top Treble starts with Liverpool and while I'm not that keen on taking them under evens at Old Trafford the price has drifted and I assume that's because Man Utd fans are showing faith in their side and backing them at 4-1.
Liverpool's recent record at Old Trafford is poor but they're the better side by some way and while it should be close I reckon Jurgen Klopp's men will get the job done to maintain their 100 per cent record.
Add Athletic Bilbao at home to Valladolid. Bilbao have won three out of four at home and only conceded one goal while Valladolid's only win in six was at Espanyol who have lost all of their home matches.
Complete the treble with Schalke not to lose at Hoffenheim. Schalke have lost just once this season and face a side whose only home points came on the opening day although they did win at Bayern before the international break.

Read with interest last week about the selling of your sites tips last week. Interesting that this week 3 services I subscribe to all have had the same issues 2 greyhound services and one who tips on American horse racing. The costs for each is fairly small and the are run by individuals I have been following for years. It’s an increasing problem and hard to stop and certainly unfair on those concerned when there hard work is stolen.
You’re right about it being hard to stop. if you’re paying for tips you need to be careful and don’t pay over the odds either.
