IT wasn't the best of Saturdays but I still have three bets running as well one on the VIP tips.
Opening days are always tricky and so it proved with surprise defeats for the likes of Fulham, Blackburn and Brentford … and that was just the Championship.
Anyone doing an acca will have done well to pick a winner but my Celtic/Rangers double, Celtic/Rangers/Hibs treble and Motherwell +1, Cove and Aberdeen treble are all still alive and can all be covered if you want to go down that route. Killie not to lose pays 7-5 at Marathonbet but I'm convinced Rangers will win so letting the bets run and also confident about Aberdeen.
I need Sam Cosgrove to score first to land a 22-1 first-scorers double on the VIP tips after Mitch Megginson did the business for Cove.
Well done to all the winners on Saturday including Desmond who returned with a successful teams to score 2+ double and Greg with over 10 goals in the Scottish Premiership – he nearly saw them all himself at Celtic Park.
I'm hoping my pending bets – potentially worth around 16pts – go my way on Sunday and I've added a goals treble.
Start with over 2.5 goals at Feyenoord v Sparta Rotterdam. The home men should win this comfortably but the Dutch big guns PSV and Ajax were surprised yesterday so instead I'm backing over 2.5 goals.
Mouscron v Anderlecht has a 100 per cent record of both scoring and I'm adding both to score at Bristol City v Leeds. This should be an action-packed Championship game with Leeds hoping to make a winning start against a high-scoring City side.
I do have a Super Single though and while I need Cosgrove to score I'm backing the hotshot, who has netted in all four of Aberdeen's Euro outings, to score again at evens with McBookie.

Excuse the long post however I hope the insight below helps when making selections.
I don’t think this Killie side can match this Rangers side in terms of playing ability this year (based on preseason so far).
If this game was at Ibrox, I’d be predicting a comfortable home win. However Rangers haven’t won in the league at Kilmarnock in the last 5 attempts.
It’s no secret that teams usually raise there game when playing one of the old firm and on opening day of the season i’m sure this will be the case again. More so given Killie’s need to make amends for their euro disappointment.
The plastic pitch also undoubtedly makes the game sticky (the ball doesn’t run true on the surface). With a slower tempo, there is more fouls and stoppages in play. This will suit Killie perfectly. They will sit in behind the ball with McKenzie and Burke almost a five across midfield (helping their fullbacks) and Brophy being the lone frontman. It’s difficult enough to break down 10 men (not counting Brophy) on a sound surface, but doing it on a windy day on a plastic pitch is even tougher!
Broadfoot, Findlay, Power and Dicker will most likely make up the spine of the Killie team and they are no mugs. They will protect the area around the outside of the Killie box well. Which leads me to my main point….. Alfredo Morelos!
Is he a changed man?
I’m banking on him not being so. Frankly Rangers have played two pub teams so far in competitive matches and he’s barely needed to break a sweat. So i’m not surprised he hasn’t picked up any cards. Today will be a completely different kettle of fish! He will be right in the middle of that box of Killie CB’s and CM’s mentioned above. I think he’ll be starved of space and get increasingly frustrated. I also think that those four players will once again target him to invoke a reaction from him (they are within their rights to do so).
Willie Collum is the referee in charge today and he booked Morelos on May 19th when Rangers were playing….yep away to Kilmarnock!!!
He never booked him when they were away to St Mirren last season but did book 4 Rangers players and send off Daniel Candeias in stoppage time (remember that?). He DID book him though on September 2nd when Rangers were away to Celtic.

He wants to play more football and more attacking rather than focus on the team’s strengths so for me it’s a Rangers win and probabky by two or more.
