IT was a good day for fans of goals and those who don't support Rangers.

All five English games saw both to score and overs and two featured on my treble. I thought about putting up the four Premier League games but instead added Celtic v Rangers in the Betfred Cup Final.

I fancied a thrilling game with plenty of goals but Odsonne Edouard's absence from the starting line-up left Celtic short up top and only a fantastic display by Fraser Forster and a shocking decision by a linesman got the favourites over the line.

Rangers were the better team on the day but if you don't score you don't win. Alfredo Morelos has been brilliant for them this season but can't score against Celtic.

That's 11 games now and he'll not have a better chance than from the spot with Forster beating out his weak effort.

That beat me for a 7pts win on my btts treble, Werder Bremen done me for another one by not scoring at home to lowly Paderborn but I ended in profit thanks to my Top Treble winning at 17-5.

I also backed and tipped a red and penalty to be awarded at Hampden so it was a decent day although I felt it could have been a full house.

Well done to all the winners on Sunday including Greg and HullShaker who both landed Naps. And Scott's members was a nice 7-4 double success.

On Monday the big game is West Ham v Arsenal and there's not much else to look at ahead of a busy week. I imagine people will be looking to back the Hammers to win or not to lose considering the state of their opponents at the moment.

Arsenal haven't won away since the opening day of the season but West Ham are winless at the London Stadium since beating Southampton in September. This could be a dull draw but the Gunners were poor in losing to Brighton on Thursday and I'm willing to chance the home men draw no bet at 6-4 with Betfred.

I've looked at some other games and agree with comments about both to score in the two Dutch games while Stuttgart and over 2.5 goals has a chance at home to Nurnberg in Bundesliga 2.

In Portugal Rio Ave look a decent shout at home to Gil Vicente the Super Single will be only top tip.

Off to Xmas do No.2 so will check in later.

2pts Super Single

  • West Ham draw no bet (8pm)
  • (6-4, Betfred)

Yesterday’s NAP came nowhere thanks to a rare 0-0 in the erevidisie

Couple of Dutch games on tonight though
    Jong Ajax v Roda
    Jong AZ v Helmond

Goals flying in for all the teams playing and a pretty impressive H2H in that respect too

BTTS in both games @ 5/4 – NAP

For much smaller stakes will also try
    BTTS in both halves
    2 singles ( 8/1 and 15/2) and a double @ 75/1

Was going to include West Ham v Arsenal for a treble but the price is shocking – how that can be lower odds than both the Dutch games I do not know. May be some value in going unders on that game – under 3.5 is 8/11 and under 1.5 first half is 4/6

    • sean567 4 years ago

Im on Salzburg over 1.5 tgs macca I see your going for goals galore how many do you think they can score against your lads? (obviously youll reckon Liverpool will score the lions share)

    • maccathered 4 years ago

They might get 2 sean you never know,i’m pretty sure Klopp will keep it tighter than at Anfield,i was thinking 1-4 maybe 1-5.

    • maccathered 4 years ago

Looks good mrf,i will be on fhg’s also

    • sean567 4 years ago

over 1.5fhg and btts in bh also in my thinking for this game. should see plenty

    • Smashing Pumpkin 4 years ago

@maccathered no chance this game to finish 1-5 or 1-4! Liverpool can squeeze 3:2 in the best case scenario. Most realistic prediction is 2:2 with Mane, Sallah, Haland and Hwang to be on the scoresheet. Those four on a bet builder are 19/1 which will be my bet for tomorrow.

    • maccathered 4 years ago

No chance eh,have to see what happens, you can’t expect Liverpool to go to Salzburg and give them the space they had at Anfield,Liverpool have a great record of winning when it matters in this competition, they are the best team in European football at this present time and i’m sure they will show Salzburg respect, but not to much.

    • maccathered 4 years ago

So what are you saying smashing pumpkin,Liverpool aren’t good enough to win at Salzburg???

    • Smashing Pumpkin 4 years ago

Not at all. With both teams having the chance to qualify it will be very fast paced game. Liverpool are the better team and should be respected as they are the champions. Salzburg are really good to watch and they will attack any team. They are a pure entertainment side and for that they should also be respected. Do not underestimate them. I am saying that Liverpool will not win 5-1 . Furthermore I am making a statement that liverpool won’t win the CL again. Origi quick corner strategy won’t work again this year ;)

    • maccathered 4 years ago

Haha sounding like a bitter manc there,Liverpool’s priority is the League title,if they win that then the Champions league crown again would be an added bonus.Origi quick corner strategy lol,Liverpool always find a way.

    • sasaharv62 4 years ago

@smashing pumpkin,i remember not so long ago Macca tipped Man utd beating Man c & someone said Man utd had no chance of doing that…………………………..oh wait..it was me lol…so saying Liverpool have no chance of winning 4-1 or 5-1 take my advice…just say nothing hahaha

After watching the last two games at Pittodrie and Hampden, I wouldn’t put another penny on Morelos getting carded, as he should have seen red both games. Diving constantly during both games, feigning injury trying to get opposition players booked/sent off. When he sees he’s getting nothing better he’s up running about like Usain Bolt. On top of that, the cynical dirty fouls, especially the professional foul on LewisFerguson in midweek and raking his studs down Jullien’s achilles yesterday and not even a yellow in either game.
We keep hearing he’s cleaned up his act, but it looks more like the ref’s have been given a directive to go easy on him!!

    P. S. Frimpong was a red all day long, but what a prospect that young man is.

    • Mr Fixit 4 years ago

He had cleaned up but we’ve seen glimpses of the old Morelos in the last two games against teams who seem to wind him up most.

    • Mr Fixit 4 years ago

Right, heading into town for another Christmas do. Write-ups are done for Tuesday thankfully and will be posted later.

    • chelseagirl 4 years ago

Totally agree with the achillies tackle.Shocking.

Unfortunately the refs I believe are scared to send Morelos off. Seems to me it would have to be a headbut or a blatant foul to get him sent off.

    • Mr Fixit 4 years ago

Strange comment when he was sent off so many times last season.

  12. sean567 4 years ago

1 bet for me today- goals in England and germany.
    west ham v arsenal btts/o2.5mgs
    Stuttgart o1.5tgs
    6/4 bet 365

this has landed in the last 3/4 home matches for the hammers with the other coming close as well (1-1 draw) and has landed in arsenals last 4 matches as well. neither team can defend, id be surprised if we don’t see goals tonight.
Stuttgart have covered o1.5tgs in 5/7 home games this season, and Nurnberg are very leaky away from home. they’ve conceded 13 in their last 5 away league games altho they did keep 2 clean sheets in that run, but none of those games came against a team as high up in the league as Stuttgart. home team will be looking for the victory tonight to get them back into the promotion places and I fancy them to win and score a couple against a side that averages conceding almost 2 goals a game

this may get shouted out of the room but is anyone looking at betting on the election?

for some of the stats based people on here, there is an absolute shedload of stuff to look at – too much perhaps

I was looking at a couple of things with some small change myself and in recent elections, the pollsters have got it wrong more often than not and the bookies tend to follow them. Could be some value to be had on a few outside bets

personally I will be looking at anything that supports the lib dems having a very bad night ( a personal highlight will be watching chukka Umunna getting beat) – maybe 9 seats and under @ 9/1

also feel labour may well perform better than expected as they did last time – labour to get over 35%of vote is 9/4

Brexit party to get a seat at 3/1 looks a good shout too

    • buzzer 4 years ago

Considering the most likely result is a small Conservative majority and the fact that some analyzers are suggesting it could be close to a possible hung parliament that 9/4 on labour gaining 35% plus could be a steal.

    • xbets 4 years ago

how about brexit party to win more seats then green party @ 4/1 ?

    • buzzer 4 years ago

could you please tell me what bookie your using as 30-40% is 1/5 with ladbrokes according to oddschecker

    • cp007 4 years ago

Buzzer I got it in shop at William hill and it is over 35%

    • cockerspaniel 4 years ago

When you say 35% plus . Is that seats or 35% of the total votes .

    • chelseagirl 4 years ago

@ Sean Ireland. Spot on comment.

    • cp007 4 years ago

Just has a good look through odds and some interesting ones available

Boris Johnson to lose his seat – labour win @ 4/1 – would be historic but a lot of effort is going into this and his majority isn’t great at all (around 5000)

Iain Duncan Smith is supposedly in big trouble in chingford and labour are 15/8 there

Birkenhead is not far from me and frank field is a well respected MP who consistently championed the area but was booted out of labour by momentum
He is 10/3 to win and could be a Martin bell type win here

Jo Swinson hasn’t had a great campaign and has lost to the SNP before – it is 15/8 for an SNP win here

Hastings – amber Rudd hung on by the skin of her teeth last time here and without the pull of someone of her stature it seems a good chance of the tories losing here – you can get 5/2 on labour

Last one – apparently Dominic raab could be in big trouble in Esher – it’s 2/1 for a Lib Dem win here

    • scampi 4 years ago

I’ve looked at a few election bets, my own constituency of bolsover was a good one the Tories went off at 3/1 now if you understand bolsover it’s been a rock solid labour seat since it was created and was a previously strong mining area on strike in 1985 with plenty saying they’d never vote conservative after the strike

.However it’s also one of the biggest Brexit supporting constituencys in the country as well and I’ve heard a lot saying the are going to vote Tory for the first time ever (I can’t fathom why but that’s what I’ve heard!) One of the latest opinion polls predicted a 4,000 majority for the Tories and the odds have been cut to 17/20 today.

Also ashfield is another localish constituency which looks a 3 horse race between labour, the Tories and ashfield independents. The Tories, independents and Brexit party are all running there under the Brexit banner which I keep thinking could that give labour a chance if the Brexit vote is split (they’ve been 5/1 to 7/1ish)

General question for interest to the floor of the house: I am interested to know at what point do online bookmakers look at your online account and decide to exclude / bar you ? Is to do with the amount of money you win, and / or the number of bets you place, and / or the size of the stakes you place ?

If I say place 30 x £1 bets per day on low stake accumulators (many win, but some lose, so lets say my £30 becomes £39-45) and I do this regularly, but then I scale up to 30 X £10 bets / day (so my £300 becomes £390-450), or my 30 x £100 bets / day becomes (so £3000 becomes £3900-4500), or even for sake of argument, 30 x £1000 bets / day (so £30,000 becomes £39,000-45,000), at what point do they decide they no longer want you as a client ?

    Thoughts appreciated.

    • Mr Fixit 4 years ago

Just back in – it’s partly do with how much you win and a lot to do with what type of bets you place.
They don’t like shrewd punters so will try to identify those who can beat them.
One thing to remember is they’re running businesses.
Also the comment mentioned by hudson has been edited – doesn’t sit too well on this site.

Anything from Nathan regarding the Nfl game between Giants and Eagles Tonight

  38. Nathan 4 years ago

Nfl last night started well with Cleveland dcovering their spread, but some absolutely awful officiating in the Kansas vs New England game cost us.
Firstly a great defensive play by New England to cause a fumble on travis Kelce was being returned for a certain return TD, however play was stopped by the officials who said it was a dead play as kelces knee was down, a challenge then led to New England getting the ball from that recovery but at their own 20 yard line rather than having that return TD and very likely chance of the extra point too, that would have led to a more open end and the points total only needing another TD to be covered which I’m almost certain would have happened! Then later in that game a big play was made by New England and I can’t remember who it was (I think white) caught a Brady throw, did unbelievably well to stay in bounds and reach the pylon for the TD, however AGAIN an official called this out of bounds saying first foot had crossed the line, replays showed this was 100% the case and was a TD, but because of that earlier incident New England didn’t have any challenges remaining so had to just play on. This then led to only a field goal rather than a TD and the 4 downs after what would have been a TD also wasted a further 3 minutes where Kansas could have trott up the field. Result was New England being completely shafted by officials and also my bet. Simply said I was livid at the decisions never mind how New England felt!! Then Seattle vs rams game 8 points short of the total as Seattle struggled for the first time in a long time!! 1/3 and a bad weekend so far!

Onto tonight and it’s the Eagles vs the giants…
The line opened up at 47 points for this one but has actually dropped to just 45, the eagles offensively can score easily against a team that is just 2-10 this year and the 2nd worst record in the entire NFL. However philly have struggled against the ‘lesser’ teams this year going down to the dolphins, the lions and the falcons whom between the 3 have a total record of 10-28-1. That’s 28 losses! Jones is out for a few weeks at QB for the giants but I feel that with Eli Manning coming in they can have a couple of big plays tonight and contribute to the total, saquon barkley showed life last week with 84 rush yards and he can also play a good part tonight. Philly should easily put points up and Carson Wentz should have a productive game, pair that with the eagles seemingly struggling against lesser opposition and the giants should tick us over 45 points. I’m on the over with a nice bit of confidence tonight and I’m also banking on a productive game stats wise!

Wentz can have a big game here, he loves zac Ertz when In need and the giants always give up big yardage to wide receivers so I’m expecting atleast one can get the 100+ receiving tonight! And the cherry would be for both too!

BOL anyone following or whatever you’re on tonight 👍

    • ChrisBax 4 years ago

      Cheers Nathan.

Incidentally, far batter odds for RABs at PaddyPower:

Carson Wentz 300+ Passing Yards & Zach Ertz 100+ Receiving Yards 9/1 (Under – WhatOddsPaddy – Featured)
      Carson Wentz 300+ Passing Yards & Alshon Jeffery 100+ Receiving Yards 10/1 (WhatOddsPaddy – 5/1 to 19/1)

      HTH ;)

    • Nathan 4 years ago

Cheers Chris! All Over those prices mate, big big difference, always forget about PP!

      I’ve also got a small stake on…
100+ receiving yards Ertz and Jeffrey
      17/1

Ertz and Jeffry both to score a TD
      13/2

Small stakes on them two obviously though

Backing the over 45 points on the Philly game Nathan. How confident are you on it coming in?

    Hudson 😂😂😂😂😂😂

Holloway is spot on and it’s a great analogy, if the facts of life hurt you please weep with your cat instead of on the internet 😂🙄

Argentinian Primera C for me this evening…

GENERAL LAMADRID VS. EL PORVENIR (8.00pm)

A country not famed for it’s goal totals but that’s not to say that there can’t be value to be found; a decent level of goals in both recent games and historically within H2H’s – I’m taking this one on for small stakes.

    Over 2.5 goals
    (17/10, bet365) NAP ⭐⭐

    Best of luck.

Rubbish in Denmark, chalking the treble off as a loser. Good luck with the rest of your bets tonight all 👍

  46. jamesylfc 4 years ago

    From yesterday

    SASSUOLO v CAGLIARI – O2.5 MGLS ✅ (2-2)
    WERDER BREMEN v PADERBORN – O2.5 MGLS ❌ (0-1)

    DOUBLE ❌

Shock result in Germany and lack of goals to top it off, can’t complain for last week as a whole though, managed to muster a NAP a day all week with 5 coming through as winners, so all in all a good week!

Can’t see much for tonight but may have a smaller bet on a betbuilder or acca.

    Darran, i put £3 on Glebe Farm @ 2/1 when 1-0 up, and >3 goals for GF @ 7/1 when 2-1 up….here’s hoping…

Let down by 3 rather than 4 corners in 1st half at West Ham….

Cheers Darran, thank you for the great tip. Have managed to nudge my £30 starting pot at start of the day up to £57.80, and have scattered the odd £ or 2 here and there onto some of Nathan’s NFL tips…..

I try and make some money every week and take the pot back down to £20-30 on Sunday evenings at 3 betting outfits ready for the next week…

Your right mrf, he was sent off and look at the backlash the refs take for it. Same if brown was to be sent off in a old firm game, there would be hell to pay for the refs and there families. Willie Collum and I think John Beaton have stopped with cards in the Auld firm games and I don’t blame them for it. More chance of Morelos and brown being sent off in Europeon games I think.

    • Mr Fixit 4 years ago

I don’t think refs take that account. I agree they’ve been more lenient in Old Firm games but that’s possibility because they were bringing cards out too early in the past few seasons. It’s a game where refs have to show a bit of commonsense or it could end up 8 v 8.
