MOST of the focus last night was on Spurs v West Ham and the 1-1 draw landed plenty of goals bets.
Well done again to all the winners including Greg who tipped the Hammers to score at 5-6 – and what a goal it was.
My treble was a Spurs goal short and Scott was a goal short in the Celta Vigo v Barcelona cup clash.
It's pretty quiet for a Friday night and I've posted a preview on the FA Cup ties between Liverpool and Everton and Man United v Derby. Preferably I'd see line-ups before having a bet although we know Liverpool will be without three of their Fab Four with Mo Salah, Sadio Mane and Philippe Coutinho not involved.
In Serie A it's Chievo v Udinese and Fiorentina v Inter and there's not much else. I may add a FA Cup tip once I teams but for now I'm putting up a Super Single double on Udinese and Fiorentina not to lose.

Udinese come into this clash off the back of 5 consecutive victories in the league including the impressive win at the San Siro mid December. On the other hand, Chievo have lost 4 of there last 5 including an embarassing defeat at Benevento last time out in a game the newly promoted side were well on top of. Chievo have picked up some important points at home including two 0-0 draws at home to both Napoli and Roma but it is worth noting this was on the same week that both of these sides were in Champs league action so there is a case that the home side had more time to prepare than the opposition. It is clear this Chievo side are struggling to find the net with only two goals scored in there last 5, both of these coming at home to Bologna in a 3-2 loss, a team that are conceding plenty in recent times and a team that Udinese got the better of in a 2-1 win last weekend. Udinese come into this game without a couple of first team regulars in Valon Behrami and Ali Adnan, I expect these to be replaced with Sefo Fofana and Guiseppe Pezzella but this doesnt concern me as the focal point of attack is still in tact and with the security of the draw on my side, I think this is a decent bet at a nice price.

To be fair I think there was some dubiety about that one in the end.
Can’t disagree with you about Man Utd. Derby rested 4 players in the last match and after a deserved penalty which Vydra scored, we had 2 or 3 great chances to add to the scoreline. then Sheff Utd came firing out the blocks. It wasn’t a case of if, but when Sheff Utd would score. Somehow we’re still in 2nd spot, and Vydra is still 2nd behind Leon Clarke in the championship top scorer after he equalised.
Rowett had said he’ll make changes in one or two areas but seems to throw out the idea that he’ll field 9 or 10 changes. Ledley is injured, Lawrence is 50/50 to start. Chris Martin is getting very little football and the changes we made last time out seemed to be a step back. Rowett is also mindful of steamrolling George Thorne into the starting 11 – week in week out. He got 90 mins against Ipswich, then sat out the last one.
I think Thorne will play in the middle with Huddlestone, I don’t think we’ll change out the central defence, but I do think we’ll swap around our left and right sided defenders. If Lawrence doesn’t start on the wing, Russell coukld get the nod ahead of him as he’s started to fight back for his place when he’s given the chance. I think Johnson isn’t fully fit, so Weimann will probably take up the other wing. leaving probably Vydra playing off the shoulder of any one of 3 choices we have up front… Nugent, Winnall, Martin.
I know it was pointed out that Sheff Wed want Winnall back at Hillsbrough, but the season long loan is identical to our dilemma last season when we wanted Martin back from Fulham. Its a 3 way arrangement and if all 3 don’t agree to the recall ( 2 teams + player ) then he stays. Derby want him to stay, Winnal wants more football, Sheff Wed want him back, so that’s him staying till May.
Rowett seems to be quite happy with the squad and isn’t expected to bring any/many new faces in. He has said he’d like to send a few out on loan to get them first team football. With the Clough/Rowett Burton/Derby relationship, i’d be astonished if Derby don’t send a few players down the A38 to help them out a bit.
This FA cup tie is a rude interruption for both teams, Derby will never win it, we want promotion and a decluttered fixture list. Man Utd could probably win it but they have an even bigger gap to close on Man City than Derby do with Wolves.
Lukaku is fit and Mourhino has made no secret of his excitement. Yes we’ve conceded 2 in our last 2 games, and once in the previous 7, but our defence is far from perfect. Carson makes our back 4 look good. I think Derby will lose, I think it will be comfortable for Man Utd, but I don’t think it will be a landslide. Its feasible that we could be playing them next season so I think it would be foolish to let them take us apart.
I think 3-1 is about where this game will end to the Red Devils, anything more would be an embarrassment to the rams. I don’t think Man Utd will have it all their way though. We’ve lost 3 times away since August, the last time being November. maybe we play with a bit more of a swagger away from home.
On a personal note, i’m not up to 100% right now. I’ve had a hellish 2 days with man flu. Its pretty much done what its gonna do to me and maybe by teatime tomorrow it will be gone. I’m just glad it isn’t Australian flu, that would probably floor me.

Merseyside Derby doesn’t look as appealing with Liverpool’s main men missing – Liverpool and under could be the way to go – it’s off Italy for me

It’s rare to see a prem team play a championship team and be heavy underdogs but that’s the way it is for this game and I think the bookies have got this right.
From reports so far it seems Carvalhal will play a second string Swansea team. It’s a certainty that wolves will play the second string and I would expect it to look very much like the second string team that beat Southampton and held Man City’s second string for 120 minutes. Although it was clearly Man City’s second string I still think they would make a damn good competitor in any prem game and still included the likes of Sterling and Aguero (who is rumoured to have had to be surgically removed from the back pocket of Kourtney Hause). Many Citeh fans have heaped praise on wolves and that’s no small feat considering they are one of the best teams in Europe.
For that reason I don’t think we should have anything to fear. The kids have a chance to shine and show Nuno that they deserve a spot in the first team in the league and as a result I expect them to give it their all. Our second string is also infinitely better than any wolves team in the past 10+ years.
New signing, striker Rafa Mir (Real Madrid we’re interested in him) should feature and I expect he will get a 30 minute appearance off the bench.
Helder Costa is edging closer to his old self, although is yet to look like the player of last season, he is improving game by game.
Anyone who sees my wolves posts will know that I rarely tip us to win and I’m not a blinded/deluded fan by any stretch.
First half against Brentford I felt we were poor. Very flat and offered little. Second half we were incredible once Cavaleiro came on. Can’t see Cav featuring tomorrow though.
I can see Morgan Gibbs White making an appearance of sorts after his exploits as one of the stars of the World Cup team and he is one to watch. Rumoured that Liverpool and spurs have shown an interest.

Think the problem was that BBC never announced him officially. He was involved in post match interview bit so was James Milner. Sky sports announced him as man of match but nothing official from BBC. Anyway I’ve invested my ton and balance is now negative balance so we will see what tomorrow brings

@weebanger I’ve had same issue pal. They settled the bet as a winner after I went on live chat. Now the bet is showing back to pending after I put my weekend accas on so I’m now in negative balance. Think the issue is sky sports gave the man of match to him but nothing was mentioned by bbc. Live chat advise they waiting for clarification…..truth is no man of match was announced. Maybe all of us on van dijk will be voided and all on other players will be settled as loses. We wait and see.
