MOST of the focus last night was on Spurs v West Ham and the 1-1 draw landed plenty of goals bets.

Well done again to all the winners including Greg who tipped the Hammers to score at 5-6 – and what a goal it was.

My treble was a Spurs goal short and Scott was a goal short in the Celta Vigo v Barcelona cup clash.

It's pretty quiet for a Friday night and I've posted a preview on the FA Cup ties between Liverpool and Everton and Man United v Derby. Preferably I'd see line-ups before having a bet although we know Liverpool will be without three of their Fab Four with Mo Salah, Sadio Mane and Philippe Coutinho not involved.

In Serie A it's Chievo v Udinese and Fiorentina v Inter and there's not much else. I may add a FA Cup tip once I teams but for now I'm putting up a Super Single double on Udinese and Fiorentina not to lose.

I have posted a Super Single preview and I'm on the same wavelength as McBookie's Damian Walker who has posted first-scorer tips. The prices on St Mirren and Peterhead will drop so I'm adding a Saturday Super Single double as well.

    Hi gents.

Udinese travel to Chievo in Serie A where form sees these two at the complete opposite ends of the spectrum. Udinese lead Serie A over their last five games with five wins and 14 goals scored, while Chievo anchor the form table with four losses and 1 draw. They’ve conceded 10 goals in those four losses, and in their 0-0 at home to Roma, the visitors saw possession in the sixties and the goal attempts were 20+. Udinese have scored in every away game this season. Law of averages says they won’t keep a clean sheet again tonight and I’ll chance Udinese’s goal time at 365.

    Fridays Bet

    Chievo vs Udinese
    Udinese Draw No bet
    5/6 **NOW 8/11**
    Betfair – 6 Points

Udinese come into this clash off the back of 5 consecutive victories in the league including the impressive win at the San Siro mid December. On the other hand, Chievo have lost 4 of there last 5 including an embarassing defeat at Benevento last time out in a game the newly promoted side were well on top of. Chievo have picked up some important points at home including two 0-0 draws at home to both Napoli and Roma but it is worth noting this was on the same week that both of these sides were in Champs league action so there is a case that the home side had more time to prepare than the opposition. It is clear this Chievo side are struggling to find the net with only two goals scored in there last 5, both of these coming at home to Bologna in a 3-2 loss, a team that are conceding plenty in recent times and a team that Udinese got the better of in a 2-1 win last weekend. Udinese come into this game without a couple of first team regulars in Valon Behrami and Ali Adnan, I expect these to be replaced with Sefo Fofana and Guiseppe Pezzella but this doesnt concern me as the focal point of attack is still in tact and with the security of the draw on my side, I think this is a decent bet at a nice price.

Best of luck with your bets lads!

Also think for the price, Chievo to get at least 1 card in each half @ EVS @ William Hill is pretty decent. Serie A = Sunday League Tackles. Verona the second highest carded team in Serie A too ??

Longer shot would be the BTTS, Both Teams Over 3 Corners and Over 1 Card @ 9/2 @ William Hill

Can’t disagree with you about Man Utd. Derby rested 4 players in the last match and after a deserved penalty which Vydra scored, we had 2 or 3 great chances to add to the scoreline. then Sheff Utd came firing out the blocks. It wasn’t a case of if, but when Sheff Utd would score. Somehow we’re still in 2nd spot, and Vydra is still 2nd behind Leon Clarke in the championship top scorer after he equalised.

Rowett had said he’ll make changes in one or two areas but seems to throw out the idea that he’ll field 9 or 10 changes. Ledley is injured, Lawrence is 50/50 to start. Chris Martin is getting very little football and the changes we made last time out seemed to be a step back. Rowett is also mindful of steamrolling George Thorne into the starting 11 – week in week out. He got 90 mins against Ipswich, then sat out the last one.

I think Thorne will play in the middle with Huddlestone, I don’t think we’ll change out the central defence, but I do think we’ll swap around our left and right sided defenders. If Lawrence doesn’t start on the wing, Russell coukld get the nod ahead of him as he’s started to fight back for his place when he’s given the chance. I think Johnson isn’t fully fit, so Weimann will probably take up the other wing. leaving probably Vydra playing off the shoulder of any one of 3 choices we have up front… Nugent, Winnall, Martin.

I know it was pointed out that Sheff Wed want Winnall back at Hillsbrough, but the season long loan is identical to our dilemma last season when we wanted Martin back from Fulham. Its a 3 way arrangement and if all 3 don’t agree to the recall ( 2 teams + player ) then he stays. Derby want him to stay, Winnal wants more football, Sheff Wed want him back, so that’s him staying till May.

Rowett seems to be quite happy with the squad and isn’t expected to bring any/many new faces in. He has said he’d like to send a few out on loan to get them first team football. With the Clough/Rowett Burton/Derby relationship, i’d be astonished if Derby don’t send a few players down the A38 to help them out a bit.

This FA cup tie is a rude interruption for both teams, Derby will never win it, we want promotion and a decluttered fixture list. Man Utd could probably win it but they have an even bigger gap to close on Man City than Derby do with Wolves.
Lukaku is fit and Mourhino has made no secret of his excitement. Yes we’ve conceded 2 in our last 2 games, and once in the previous 7, but our defence is far from perfect. Carson makes our back 4 look good. I think Derby will lose, I think it will be comfortable for Man Utd, but I don’t think it will be a landslide. Its feasible that we could be playing them next season so I think it would be foolish to let them take us apart.

I think 3-1 is about where this game will end to the Red Devils, anything more would be an embarrassment to the rams. I don’t think Man Utd will have it all their way though. We’ve lost 3 times away since August, the last time being November. maybe we play with a bit more of a swagger away from home.

On a personal note, i’m not up to 100% right now. I’ve had a hellish 2 days with man flu. Its pretty much done what its gonna do to me and maybe by teatime tomorrow it will be gone. I’m just glad it isn’t Australian flu, that would probably floor me.

    Liverpool v Everton
Over 2.5 goals at 8/11 (NAP)
Over 3.5 goals at 7/4 (NB)
    Over 4.5 goals at 9/2
You have to feel for Everton here its certainly a game they could do without playing another Merseyside derby.Luckily for them there is no Mane,Salah,or Coutihno,Salah is fit and so is Mane but they were allowed to leave to go to africa to pick up the african player of the years prizes (which Mo Salah won) but i wouldn’t let this put anyone off taking goals tonight because i reckon we should see a few, probably the same team that beat Burnley away and if this is the case then Everton are up against it.Luckily Liverpool do have strength in depth now and can Bring in players like Lallana,Ings,Sturridge,Solanke oxlade chamberlain (not a bad bench) i would say Van djik will be given his debut also tonight.Liverpool are 2/5 to win but should be more like 1/5 so the win looks ok for big hitters.Everton won’t sit back tonight as they simply cannot change there mentality at Anfield they have to play as this is a one off game,if they go one nil down they cannot go from parking the bus to attacking at this venue, they have to come to play from the start and this game should be more open than Usual as Everton will look who’s missing for Liverpool and see it as a chance.i give them a chance (No chance)!!
    correct score 4-1 or 5-1.
    Best of Luck.

    • joe90 3 years ago

      I’d strongly advise caution here!
Liverpool are without 3 of their supposed “fab4” and found it extremely difficult to break down a solid Everton side a few weeks ago
Everton dont have a recognised striker themselves and I cant rememeber the last time Big Sam set him team up to “have a go”

    Friday goals tip 1
    Brisbane roar v wsw
    2-3 mgs evens bet 365
    1/2 stake
    January goals bets total +2pts

First of the 2 games today in oz sees 2 sides with what I call yo-yo form. Always up and down. I would never confidently back either to win any game, but they are more than capable of springing a surprise from time to time. However one thing that is consistent with them is goals. The last 5 h2hs have all seen 2 or 3 mgs, as have 4 out of Brisbane’s last 5 as well as 8 out the last 10 for the wanderers. Runs like this don’t continue forever but with both sides fairly evenly matched I think it’s a market that will continue today. Best of luck if you follow

Like the look of corners in Fiorentina v Inter Game – 16 & 17 in the last 2 H2Hs. Line is set at 11.5 which is unsurprisingly the right average of the home and away games …. would prefer to go for a smaller stake for bigger odds – as corners are often impacted by the score in the game. So will see if 365 offer up more markets later. Expect TNS to score a few but the 4/7 for > 2.5 TGS is not great ….

    Afternoon gents

Poor card for a Friday night – roll on the return of French and Dutch games

Merseyside Derby doesn’t look as appealing with Liverpool’s main men missing – Liverpool and under could be the way to go – it’s off Italy for me

Foitientina v Inter Milan KO 7.45pm

Prior to two games before Christmas, the hosts had seen 7 of their last 8 home matches see over 2.5 goals with 7 of their last 10 seeing both sides find the net. They welcome a misfiring Inter side who have managed a paltry 1 goal in their last 5 matches. Two of those games though we’re in the copa Italia and league games against Juventus, Milan and Lazio. The head to head is interesting though. 10 of the last 11 meetings between the sides have seen over 2.5 goals ( 42 goals racked up) with both sides scoring in 8 of those. For a team that’s sitting third it’s reasonable to think they won’t go another game without scoring and given this match has been loaded with goals recently I’m taking a chance on inter finding the net again with Fiorientina also contributing

Back over 2.5 match goals 19/20 (BetVictor) (NAP)

    • maccathered 3 years ago

Ahh well thats the difference of knowing the premier League and just been an average punter,Liverpool and unders yes i can dig that and fully understand that but i’m afraid this game has more chance going overs without Salah Mane and Coutihno than it does with them, with the afformetioned players missing this gives Everton the gaul to set up attacking wise,if Salah Mane Coutihno were playing then i would have taken unders as Everton would park the bus,as this won’t be the case in this game i am quite happy to NAP overs and more besides.

    • Mr Fixit 3 years ago

Struggling to call it but Allardyce sides don’t set up to attack.

    • maccathered 3 years ago

He will do tonight, its like dangling a carrot.

    • maccathered 3 years ago

Easy for me to call,Allardyce has no points to lose. Its not as if Everton lose they are going to get pushed into relegation, the only reason Allardyce went to Everton was to get them out of trouble,he wont be there long as he cannot keep playing the brand of football that only allows premier league survival, they must look higher than that as the fans wont allow tolerate his style for long and that why they have spent big on a striker.

I’m like this with Coutihno if he wants to go (which he does as every Liverpool fan knows this) then he must wait until the summer, there is no point in him leaving now as he can’t play any champs league with Barcelona. You will hear allsorts of rumours and thats all they are.The reason why Barcelona are desperate to land him now is because they are looking at a transfer ban for next season and Coutihno is scared he wont get his move.John W Henry the owner of Liverpool fc is a shrewd bussiness man and wont be held to ransom by any player or any other club.If the price is right he will go but Barca are not in a great financial position so its unclear wether they can even afford him.

It’s that’s time of the year again where we see lots of friendlies being played across Europe (and Estonian winter cup matches )

Games involving the Dutch sides usually produce plenty of goals and worth keeping an eye out as you tend to get some real mismatches where you have established clubs playing 3rd and 4th tier sides

NEC game looked decent today but for what ever reason it was pulled

    Wolves v Swansea

    NAP – Wolves Win 4/6 – 5 points
    NB – Wolves 2+ 5/6 – 2.5 points

    Punt – Wolves 3-1 Win – 14/1 – 0.5 points

    Punt – wolves win and BTTS – 3/1 – 0.5 points

It’s rare to see a prem team play a championship team and be heavy underdogs but that’s the way it is for this game and I think the bookies have got this right.

From reports so far it seems Carvalhal will play a second string Swansea team. It’s a certainty that wolves will play the second string and I would expect it to look very much like the second string team that beat Southampton and held Man City’s second string for 120 minutes. Although it was clearly Man City’s second string I still think they would make a damn good competitor in any prem game and still included the likes of Sterling and Aguero (who is rumoured to have had to be surgically removed from the back pocket of Kourtney Hause). Many Citeh fans have heaped praise on wolves and that’s no small feat considering they are one of the best teams in Europe.

For that reason I don’t think we should have anything to fear. The kids have a chance to shine and show Nuno that they deserve a spot in the first team in the league and as a result I expect them to give it their all. Our second string is also infinitely better than any wolves team in the past 10+ years.

New signing, striker Rafa Mir (Real Madrid we’re interested in him) should feature and I expect he will get a 30 minute appearance off the bench.

Helder Costa is edging closer to his old self, although is yet to look like the player of last season, he is improving game by game.

Anyone who sees my wolves posts will know that I rarely tip us to win and I’m not a blinded/deluded fan by any stretch.

First half against Brentford I felt we were poor. Very flat and offered little. Second half we were incredible once Cavaleiro came on. Can’t see Cav featuring tomorrow though.

I can see Morgan Gibbs White making an appearance of sorts after his exploits as one of the stars of the World Cup team and he is one to watch. Rumoured that Liverpool and spurs have shown an interest.

    Up the wolves

    • sean567 3 years ago

Except when your backing them to win 7-0 eh mate? ???
Good luck as you say, wolves should win regardless of starting 11. Swansea just do not want the distraction of a cup run, which is a shame but that’s the beast that the epl has created

90 million quid for Paul Pogba ?? Couldn’t hit a bulls ass with a banjo. Incidentally, this ref is diabolical, he’s given corners when there’s no corners, not given them when there should of been one and every single 50/50 ball has been decided in Man Utd’s favour. I think he’s intimidated.
Carson has been terrific, Man Utd as an attacking force are wasteful. One of their star players is valued higher than our entire squad. 9 mins left.

Wow !!! we’ve just had a decision go our way, its took 81 mins.

If this is the best man Utd have got to offer, they may as well crown Man City champions now.

    • nathanufton 3 years ago

Typical – Lingard. We had him on loan for a season and he couldn’t hit a bulls arse with a banjo in a Derby shirt.

Like the look of 30+ booking points for Everton tonight at 11/10. Happened in 5/5 of the last games between these two. Allardyce has already stated Everton will be going for it and i am expecting a feisty game.

Goals tip and a non goals tip for oz tomorrow in the first game which I’ll post on this thread as it’s at 7am and I’ll probably be in bed by the time the new one goes up.
This match sees an inform Melbourne victory take on the very out of form central coast mariners. The mariners haven’t beaten the victory since 2013 and I don’t see that changing tomorrow. They haven’t scored in their last 4 games and have been truly awful in front of goal despite playing some nice football. After a poor start the victory look to have their mojo back winning 4 of their last 5. I fancy them for at least a 2-0 win.
    Goals tip
    Victory over 1.5 tgs
    8/13 bet 365
    Jan goals total +3.25pts

Been banging the drum for a good while now about penalties in Melbourne victory games (and there’s been 3 in the last 4 btw) and it seems the bookies are starting to take notice too. Usually 8/1 to net tomorrow they are 11/2, but it’s a market I like chucking a 5r at and tomorrow will be no different.
    Advised tips
    Victory score a pen 11/2
    Miss a pen 18/1
    Mariners score a pen 10/1

The Night Owl sees me over in Mexico for the opening top-flight fixture – a league I followed closely a few years ago but have left largely untouched in the last 12 months…

Small stakes advised at such an early stage but Tigres are certainly the better side and having hit 5 and 2 past them in their most recent H2H’s, another brace has a solid chance at a nice price.

Can anyone help me out, I bet Virgil van Dijk to be motm on bbc as it was a price boost on sky bet. I watched it to the very end and they never announced who it was. I presume this will be void but feel rather pissed off at the BBC for announcing anything

    • Mr Fixit 3 years ago

      Van Dijk was definitely MoM.

    • weebanger 3 years ago

Why was my comment deleted? It’s not been settled but hope your right.

      Good luck tomorrow :)

    • Mr Fixit 3 years ago

Why do you think some of your comments were deleted?

    • lee cunliffe 3 years ago

Think the problem was that BBC never announced him officially. He was involved in post match interview bit so was James Milner. Sky sports announced him as man of match but nothing official from BBC. Anyway I’ve invested my ton and balance is now negative balance so we will see what tomorrow brings

    • weebanger 3 years ago

I agree but the BBC didn’t announce one which is the thing that worries me. The bet specifically said the BBC. Still pending just now. I tried live chat and gave up after 30 mins

@weebanger I’ve had same issue pal. They settled the bet as a winner after I went on live chat. Now the bet is showing back to pending after I put my weekend accas on so I’m now in negative balance. Think the issue is sky sports gave the man of match to him but nothing was mentioned by bbc. Live chat advise they waiting for clarification…..truth is no man of match was announced. Maybe all of us on van dijk will be voided and all on other players will be settled as loses. We wait and see.
