In what was always going to be a tight match I didn't expect Wales to lose but ultimately they missed the spark Gareth Bale often provides. It wasn't Ireland's best display but all that matters if they got over the finishing line.
Serbia and Iceland picked up expected wins to top their groups but Ukraine and Andriy Yarmolenko let me down as they crashed out by losing at home to Croatia who head for the play-offs.
Don't know about anyone else but I'm getting pretty sick of the internationals and crave a return to normal league action. Maybe not Greg though who landed his double.
We have one final round of qualifiers with Portugal v Switzerland the game that matters most. Victory will send the Portuguese to Russia and you have to fancy Cristiano Ronaldo hitting the target.
France should seal top spot in Group A by beating Belarus at home while Sweden, guaranteed a play-off, will be seeded alongside Italy, Denmark and Croatia if they avoid defeat away to Holland.
Belgium have won Group H at a canter and Greece will take second spot and a play-off ahead of Bosnia when they beat Gibraltar at home.
Slovakia ended up worst of the nine runners-up as they finished level with Scotland on 12 points in Group F after taking six away for beating Malta twice. Scotland would have made it on 14 if they'd beaten Slovenia on Sunday.
Later it's the final round of the South American qualifiers with Argentina needing to better Peru's result to finish at least with a play-off against New Zealand. Argentina are at altitude against Ecuador while Peru entertain Colombia who are just one point ahead of them alongside Chile.
It promises to be an exciting night and I'll take a closer look at those games later. I've posted a preview of the European games and have now added a treble.
However, for starters I'm taking Lionel Messi to score first at 13-5 with McBookie. He missed some great chances in last week's 0-0 draw against Peru and hit the post but as they say cometh the hour cometh the man.
