I POSTED a double on Tuesday and it came up in the early hours of the morning thanks to Peru.

Australia beat Honduras to seal their slot at Russia and Peru followed with a 2-0 second-leg win against New Zealand.

Peru are ranked 10th in the world as far as the seedings go will be on Pot 2 alongside England.

It was extremely quiet on Wednesday and it's the same on Thursday. We have one French lower-league game at Pau and a Portuguese Cup clash between Sporting and Famalicao. Team news is vital for that one.

It could be a no-bet day but I'm putting up a Super Single for Saturday and it's Spurs draw no bet at Arsenal in the lunchtime kick-off. Can see Spurs winning this but Arsenal have a good record against them at the Emirates so I'll take the draw insurance.

As it's been a quiet week and I've been off work I've looked out my Saturday selections and will post a shortlist later with a full write-up on the English Premier League games posted on Friday night.

Well done to any winners yesterday and hard lines to Hullshaker who needed a goal from 10-man Tranmere.

Remember to check welovebetting for their tips and video chat.

Can’t wait for June 18th, and a week in Benidorm, with a bunch of good mates, watching World Cup 2018 and all these daytime kick-offs.
Even got time to get home for a kip, then hit the dancing for midnight…???

Never the same without Scotland but we’re getting used to it.
Told my son the other day about how Scotland always used to qualify and he looked at me like I was an idiot.

Budgies can talk, that’s for sure.
Hate it without Scotland even if it’s painful.
      Also much better work wise.

    • oz777 6 years ago

Aye, but you can get some sense out of the feathered variety!!!

Well, with Project Brave we’re due to qualify for every tournament from now on? ?
Another pile of keech, on top of all the other keech proposals we’ve endured over the years!
Until we get football people in place, with ideas based around better facilities, coaches, coaching techniques, restructuring our game, summer football, and an end to jobs for the boys, I doubt either of us are going to see our national team at another tournament in our lifetime, Paul.

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

I live in hope and getting ex-Bankie Michael O’Neill in would be a start.

    • oz777 6 years ago

He’s got very little to work with Paul.
The best manager in the world will struggle to get us to qualify for another tournament.
Apart from a couple of ‘decent’ players, we have nobody anywhere near the class of what we both were used to in the 70s, 80s and even the 90s.
Even looking at all the years since, and all the different ideas/suggestions put in place over the past 20 years, we STILL lack players with basic technical ability.
      Our U21s haven’t even qualified for a tournament in 20 years! ?

    • recoba 6 years ago

We’ll we should have made a play off spot there and nearly half the teams qualify for the next Euros so like Mr F I live in hope, agree with most of what you say but not for giving up on them although it’s hard to take at times…it sure will be next summer again!

Australia A league action this morning features the mariners at home to Adelaide. H2Hs between these 2 suggests goals and plenty of them, (there’s been 39 in the last 10 meetings) but while I think there will be a few I’m not massively convinced there will be anymore than 2 or 3. Couple of reasons for this- the mariners seem to have found some defensive solidity the past few weeks keeping a clean sheet in an away game (as rare as rocking horse sh*t) and of course at home last week to high flying Sydney, whilst Adelaide have only netted once in their last 3 outings. For my goals tip it was a toss up between btts/o2.5 and 2-3 mgs and in the end I really couldn’t choose between them so I’m plumping for both, as I think the mariners will nick this one 2-1 and hopefully bring up both bets. As usual with mariners home games look out for them being sharp out the blocks on the corners front. I’ve had a lot of success backing them in the rt5 over the past couple of seasons and I don’t see why that should change again today.

Nice to see Peru back in the world cup and their iconic stripey shirts.
I’m sure they are fondly remembered by Scotland fans.
Those teofilo cubillas free kicks still stick in my mind, I was only 14, ally’s army and all that.
Looking back that was on paper a great scotland side that could have gone far.
The draw with Iran, Archie gemill scoring a wonderful goal v the finalists Holland.

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

Can’t believe you’re older than me! Remember 1978 well – we had great players but the manager didn’t prepare us well because he thought we could beat anyone. He was right about the Dutch, wrong about Iran.

    • cockerspaniel 6 years ago

Hi i am just back from holiday and have not had a bet for three weeks. I remember the Peru game i had a punt on them at 9/2 or 5/1 not very patriotic i`m afraid .

    • oz777 6 years ago

I was 13 years old, and it was probably the first World Cup I paid attention to.
As much as Peru ripped us open at will during that game, it could’ve been different.
At 1-1 Joe Jordan had a header that came off the bar, then missed a sitter minutes later.
Don Masson then missed a penalty, before Cubillas took over the show.
But you’re right Paul, McLeod thought we just had to turn up.
I’ll always love this tune though…
      https://youtu.be/NiJKSUvudks

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

I was also 13 but my first World Cup memory is from 1974 when we thought beating Zaire 2-0 was job done then of course we go out on goal difference.

    • elvis parsley 6 years ago

Aye and a loony Zaire defender sprinted out of the wall at a free kick and booted the ball into orbit to the astonishment of everyone
. I’m sure its on you tube. Funny as f##k.

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

Yeah I remember that – it was in the Brazil game which they lost 3-0. That put Scotland out by one goal after we drew with Brazil and Yugoslavia.

Bit of a gamble but nothing wrong with that if stakes are kept sensible – that’s the nature of the beast…

    CRUZEIRO VS. AVAÍ (2130 KO):

Plenty at stake for both sides and although I’ve not time for a detailed write-up, the bookies hot favouritism for Cruzeiro might just open up a touch of value for an Avai side who’ve been good to me this campaign and whose opponents have conceded in 5 of their last 6 games.

    Gamble on.

Few games at the business end of Brasil’s Serie A and B of late and this evening sees a few more contributions – I’ve earmarked one in particular…

    CHAPECOENSE VS. VITÓRIA (2200 KO):

Chape have scored in 9 of their last 13 but despite home advantage and marginally better form, they’ll be tackling a Vitoria outfit who have scored in their last successive 14 games!

Both look like they might just avoid the drop after patchy campaigns but neither will want to risk slipping up and I can’t see either putting in a half-shift…also well worth noting that Vitoria have had a couple of cracking results against high-flying Gremio and Palmeiras in their ladt two outings.

There have been 3 H2H’s over the last two campaigns – I don’t wonder whether this 4th match-up won’t emulate the ‘BTTS/OVERS’ outcome of the previous 3?

    Three selections to consider:

    BTTS…3/4
    ????

    BTTS & OVER 2.5 MGS…5/4
    ???

    VITORIA OVER 1.5 TGS…13/8
    ??

    Best of luck.

Give up Mr f he’s not off to Rangers end of.If he were he would of been appointed by now,it shows how much Chris Guy knows,he has not been seen anywhere since posting “fill yer boots lol”,i did 50 on him normally i am not that stupid but Chris had a good reputation on here, but he ain’t now not in my eyes anyway.

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

Give up on what? No one’s been appointed and until they are I reserve judgment. Chris Guy stuck his neck and I’m sure he’ll be on to say he got it wrong if that’s the case.
It was your choice to have the bet at the end of the day – no one twisted your arm and it can still come in, no doubt about it.
I didn’t back McInnes after his comments, I went to check it out myself.
In the past you have tipped wrongly with a strong opinion. No one slaughters you over it.

    • alex_mufc83 6 years ago

Let’s wait for the actual outcome of the appointment before pointing fingers – everyone’s just guessing. Sooner they appoint someone the better be glad when it’s done with.

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

      Exactly – well said.

    • sean ireland 6 years ago

Problem is Chrisguys wording suggested he had inside info that the bookmakers hadn’t got hold of and therefore it was a chance for everyone to make money from which isn’t a tip as such Mr F,im sure Chris was acting on info he had been given from someone he trusted but the info has been proven to be false which is a shame, not blaming Chris myself as I’m sure he thought he was going to be doing everyone a huge favour,i blame his contact whoever he may be. Going to lose out mysef on the info received as I took his word for it but as you say no one was forced to take the bet.’ Saying that ive read posts multiple times on racing thread which also suggested a sure thing from the horses stable which went on to flop so I should have taken that into account before puling in so no one to blame but myself if it doesn’t come in…Anyway these were chrisguys words on 7th November which I amongst many others acted upon ”Mr Fixit I phoned the Record looking for you. Through the same source who gave me Deilha as Celtic Manager I can confirm McInnes has already been appointed Rangers man. You can still back him at 8/11 with Skybet. May be announced tomorrow but he def has the job. Fill your boots”.Anyway may still come in just a little later than we thought,Come back on Chris you were acting out of decency not malice on info you had recieved,we all know that m8.

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

The info hasn’t yet proved to be false – also I’m pretty sure McInnes was the plan but the compo is the problem.

    Couple I like the look of in SA tonight;

    – Uruguay –

Out of their last 10 games, 2nd place Defensor Sporting have won 8, drawn 1 and lost 1 – only losing to table toppers Penarol away. With Penarol currently leading their game 2-0 Defensor will be wanting to win tonight to keep the chase on. They face 12th place Liverpool Montevideo who are very inconsistent, out of their last 10 games they’ve lost 6.

    Expect Defensor to do the business at home here;

    Defensor Sporting to win
    1/2

    – Paraguay –

    Sol de America v Libertad

    It’s 7th v 8th, both teams have goals in their locker. Going for;

    BTTS & Over 2.5
    5/4

    Alternative;

    Sol de America dnb
    8/15

    – El Salvador –

    CD Audaz v CD Aguila
Both teams have a fairly shocking defence, very leaky. Think there will be goals here from both teams.

They did so again the 1-1 draw and have netted in 4 of the last 5 H2H’s in recent seasons – can they do it again in a game Billericay ought to win? I reckon so.
