ITALY 0, SWEDEN 0 … who would have thought it? These World Cup play-offs would get football stopped and there's a chance of a full house of scoreless second legs when Republic of Ireland “entertain” Denmark tonight.

The last six World Cup play-offs have finished without any keepers being beaten and many people will be tempted by another in Dublin last night.

I'm sorry to see Italy missing out on the finals but they got what they deserved – you can't be there if you can't score against Sweden in 180 minutes. And picking Marco Gabbiadini ahead of Lorenzo Insigne – that was a strange decision.

Well done to all the winners including those on card bets in the Italy game.

Anyway the final Euro spot will go to the Irish or the Danes and before the first leg I tipped Martin O'Neill's men to qualify at 6-4 with Paddy Power so I'll stick with that – and they're the same price with the Danes the favourites despite being held at home.

Pretty sure it will be tight and tense as usual with goals at a premium and I've posted a separate preview.

England face Brazil in a friendly and other games include Germany v France, Wales v Panama and Russia v Spain.

Gareth Southgate will be without his two best players in Harry Kane and Dele Alli while Brazil are close to full strength and Man City's Gabriel Jesus, Liverpool's Philippe Coutinho and £200m Neymar are all set to feature.

Elsewhere there are three FA Cup replays – Accrington v Guiseley, Bury v Woking and Scunthorpe v Northampton and a Scottish League Two top-of-the-table clash between Ayr and Raith.

I hate friendlies but have picked out a treble that must stand a chance – Brazil draw no bet at Wembley, France not to lose in Germany and Panama +2 against a young Wales side. Panama remember have qualified for the World Cup and I can't see them losing by two.

And for a Super Single let's go no scorer in Dublin – maybe I'll jinx it and we'll be treated to a goalfest.

Remember to check welovebetting for their tips and video chat.

Sweden lost at Holland and Bulgaria, both non qualifiers this season in the group conceding 5 in these games so for Italy to blank twice means its their ineptitude that has cost them.
Italy’s coach was way out of his depth and they now suffer from having a large foreign contingent in their league like a lot of countries stifling their young talent.

No Italy Holland Chile Ghana ivory coast and Scotland of course, who’d have thought !!

Can see another 0-0 tomorrow, 2 teams who won’t know whether to stick or twist.
If its 1-1 do away goals count at 90 or after extra time ????

    • maccathered 6 years ago

Away goals count so 1-1 would see Denmark through

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

As has been said away goals count after 90.

Some Non League games too, hopefully the weather won’t postpone any of them….you’d have to fancy goals in the 2 games being played in National League North

  4. oz777 6 years ago

Maybe Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland could organise a tournament, and invite Italy, Holland, Chile, Ghana, and Ivory Coast?
Play it during the World Cup, just to get it up the rest? ???

    Italy win to nil x
    Correct score 2-0 x

    Denmark / Vendsyssel v Thisted

Italian national scenario finely fcked up by soulless players, now they can enjoy the tough competition in the domestic league till the world cup matches on tv.
Congrats to sweden that they showed once again they are better tournament team.

    by the way once again,

    The curse of Sweden:
1958 – Italy failed to reach the World Cup in Sweden
1992 – Italy failed to attend the European Championship in Sweden
2017 – Italy fails to reach World Cup after draw with Sweden

    Hi
    Indian shillong league
    royal Wahingdoh vs boys sports
Last time they met each other boys sports fc won by 5-0..Already goal difference of – 20 goals royal Wahingdoh has worst defence in shillong league. Last match they got thrash 11-0 by shillong lajong.

Bet to consider – over 2.5 goals ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Hey Kirantotti, just checking the stats on these two teams as remembered an 11-0 thrashing last week. To clarify (according to Soccerway) Shillong Lajong actually thrashed Boys Sports 11-0 last week (not Wahingdoh)!
Just saying as was gonna stick a few quid on this! Both teams recent stats are abysmal though so probably a few goals in it?

Hi Guys & Girls, Free £5 Skybet tonight, either team to win in extra time 10/1, like everyone else think this will be a tight/cagey game! Skybet also doing either team to win on pens. @ 9/1.

    • maccathered 6 years ago

If this game goes to extra time no way on gods earth will it be settled in extra time.

  10. maccathered 6 years ago

Echo double carpets thoughts there is just much risk for any of these teams to gamble and go for it,expect a dull game with neither side risking to much they simply can’t to much at stake,so my bets for this game.
    under 0.5 goals 9/2 (NAP)
    h/t f/t draw at 13/5 (NB)
Either team to win on penalties at 16/1 (NAP)

    Afternoon gents,

Thought I’d pledge my allegiance to the Italians after last night’s performance so I’ve decided to have their national flag tattooed on one of my arse cheeks…not sure how much a white cross on a white background will set me back mind…

What I need is a return to normality – not for me all that pasta, prosecco and peroni…give me a pie n pea supper, a packet of fags and pissing down rain every night of the week ta very much.

    Proper. F*cking. Entertainment.

UNITED OF MANCHESTER VS. ALFRETON TOWN:

FC Utd have formed the basis of a mini-recovery these last few weeks and after a torrid start they have won 3 of their last 4 matches whilst scoring 3-2-1-3-6 team goals in their last 4 at home!

Alfreton’s form appears to be working in reverse; after a bright start they have now lost 6 of their most recent 7 games in all competitions conceding 3-1-2-2-3-2-2 goals in consecutive games.

I fancy goals here and it’s worth noting the last 2 H2H’s at Broadhurst Park saw 7 (4-3) and 4 (1-3) match goals…I’ll be backing the following bets with decreasing stakes:

    FC UTD OVER 1.5 TGS…4/5
    ?????

    OVER 3.5 MGS…11/10
    ??

    BTTS 1ST HALF…5/2
    ?

    Best of luck.

    VEJLE to WIN 4/5
    VEJLE over 1.5 TGS 11/10.

    Summary
Home side have very solid form generally. On home soil they’ve won 6 out of 7 played. The solidarity defeat coming against an erratic Esbjerg. Not prolific scorers at home but do average 2 per game. Their opponents tonight do most of their best work at home. On their travels they have notched up wins against lower league opponents , but haven’t faired well against solid form teams above them in table ( not including Esbjerg ). Their most recent defeat on the road came against lowly Skive! In their last 5 on the road they’ve conceded 8, so by no means leaking goals, but tonight will I hope prove too much for them! Taking the home win and 1.5 TGS as well !

Good luck all with bets ?

    Oh dear !!!

    Congrats to Denmark.

By far the better footballing team and fully deserve to go through. Commentators over here saying all goals were avoidable but we’re just not good enough simple as that.

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

One man made the difference in the end.

    • double carpet 6 years ago

      Mr f
Eriksson is a class act but their whole team were far more comfortable in possession and when we had the ball we hadn’t a clue what to do with it so we hoof it down the field.
O’ Neill will need to find some players for the next campaign from somewhere.
My own son is still too young !!

    • jimba 6 years ago

Sadly no young keane, Liam brady, Houghton, mcgrath etc coming through Scotland have got exactly the same problem, keane and o’neill looked lost at the end?

    • philwindy 6 years ago

Don’t take credit away from a great collective display by the Dane’s. Simon Kjaer, who I usually rant and throw my remote at did what a captain should today and won everything in the air against one of the strongest sides at the long game.

As for Eriksen I hope he stays fit for Russia. He deserves to be on the big scene. World class player without doubt.

I generally believe they will come out of their group in Russia. Without doubt a dark horse.

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

They were better all round but without Eriksen they’d struggle.
Let’s see the groups before tipping them to progress.

    • jimba 6 years ago

Danish manager just thanked ireland for giving Ericksen Space, that says it all?

3-2 heading into the last couple of minutes ?

    ?????

    ***WON***

    OVER 3.5 MGS…11/10
    ??

    ***WON***

    BTTS 1ST HALF…5/2
    ?…FC goal shy.

    ??

(Wish I’d just stuck with this and not added Bury post later on – not sure how we didn’t score but ended a poorly 0-3)

Big cheers hullshaker ?can’t beat a late goal⚽?

0-0 lost. Was expecting to wake up to a 3-3 had goals all over it. Shocking

    • elvis parsley 6 years ago

32 qualifiers, just one from the UK, and they have as much chance of winning as one of shakers whippets winning crufts.
      Very sad.
Scandinavia with supposedly poor national leagues have Iceland Denmark and Sweden.
British football is dead in the water.

    • alex_mufc83 6 years ago

Would agree with you there Elvis. Too much money spent on bringing in foreign/non-British players in the top leagues takes its toll – has been a long time coming though.

The only thing that’s positive (speaking from an England perspective at least) is there’s a flurry of young *potential* talent and good to see them getting a game in the internationals – but they’re far from being world class ofcourse and many will turn out to be bang-average players.

    • oz777 6 years ago

Been saying it ALL my adult life, Elvis.
Summer football, especially for kids, and MORE indoor venues.
I pass the local high school a few nights per week, which has a 3G pitch, and see young kids training in howling gales, and pouring rain, looking like wee frozen snotters.
We are SO far behind the times…
