Mr Fixit’s Top Tips: Dundalk & TNS face Euro exit

IT'S been a difficult month and as we reach the end of July I could stop now and break even which is OK.

When there are no major tournaments to bet on July is problematic. There are many times we know we shouldn't have a bet but as long as we can afford it and keep it fun it's not easy to resist.

I've tried to keep my discipline and over the past few days – betting one just one friendly – and have managed to wipe any previous losses.

On Tuesday I did a 1.7pts Super Single on Celtic to win to nil away to Nomme Kalju at a fraction over evens and my 2pts Top Treble was also worked out to cancel losses and that won at 5-2 thanks to btts at Basel v PSV, Cluj to qualify and Olympiacos to win.

In fact all four of my recommendations on my Champions League preview won so it was a decent night.

Cluj knocked out Maccabi Tel Aviv 3-2 to win a third qualifying round meeting with Celtic who rested many of their stars as they won 2-0 for a 7-0 aggregate success. Neil Lennon's men should win this as long as they don't lose in Romania next week.

Well done to all the winners including SlipsTips, Scott with another members bet cracker, HullShaker and hunter – and good luck to everyone on Wednesday.

There are another five Champions League qualifiers on Wednesday and in the Europa League Molde travel to Cukaricki after being held 0-0 at home in the first leg.

I've picked out a Top Treble starting with Qarabag at home to Dundalk. The Irish side did well to force a 1-1 draw at home but Qarabag are an experienced bunch and should be too strong at home after seeing off Partizan Tirana 2-0 in the previous round. They are a best 4-9 at William Hill.

TNS are another side who have performed well in the Europa League. They beat Feronikeli 1-0 away after a home draw and held Copenhagen to a 1-0defeat  in Rhyl last week.

The Danes, however, are a step up from Feronikeli and should see this one bed with some ease. Take them on the -1 handicap against the Welsh part-timers.

In the Champions League other bets I looked at were Red Star at HJK after winning 2-0 at home, Rosenborg to beat BATE at home or both to score after 2-1 away and possibly both to score at AIK v Maribor after a 2-1 win for the Slovenians at home.

However, I've decided to complete the treble with Molde. They were denied in the first leg by a top display from the Serbs' keeper Nemanja Belic but I expect the Norwegians to make the break through on the road. They are well into the season and top the table and usually score goals for fun. It's worrying they couldn't score last week but Ladbrokes and BetVictor are tempting me with evens on Molde.

If the first two win I might advise a cover bet on Molde – or you take less risk by going Molde draw no bet.

Not anything else on my radar as I'm not betting on friendlies or the Audi Cup.
