MAN CITY and Man United have reached the last 16 of the Champions League but wins tonight could earn them both top spots.
City need a draw at home to Hoffenheim and that shouldn't be a problem for Pep Guardiola's side as they bid to bounce back from their first Premier League defeat of the season at Chelsea on Sunday.
For United it's more complicated as they must win at Valencia and hope Juventus don't return from Young Boys with maximum points.
On Tuesday Liverpool and Spurs did what they needed although it was a bit of a sweat for both. The Reds edged Napoli 1-0 to beat them on h2h on away goals while Spurs matched Inter's 1-1 draw at home to PSV.
On Wednesday Pep's men are ridiculously short at 2-9 with Sky Bet but it's understandable against a side without a win in four and who have conceded 15 in eight games and are without a win in four.
Interestingly their last seven matches have seen both score with six of those seven going over 2.5 goals. Both to score and over 2.5 goals looks on at evens with boylesports.
Looks a gulf in quality here and even without some stars I like City -2 at 6-5 with 888sport.
United haven't been a side punters trust but looked better against Fulham with Jose Mourinho reverting to two widemen with the tactic of firing in as many crosses as possible.
It paid off big style with a 4-1 win and they'll head to Valencia full of confidence and tempting at 19-10 with bet365. Less risky is United draw no bet at 11-10 with 888sport.
Back Juventus to deny United first place by beating Young Boys at 4-9 with McBookie and go with both to score at Shakhtar Donetsk v Lyon.

Last night my two trebles were beaten but well done to all the winners.
I tipped Liverpool to win and Mo Salah to score first at 3-1 but it was Reds fan maccathered who called it spot on by saying his side would win 1-0 or 2-0. Salah was my Super Single in the Daily Record so plenty will have been on but for the site I only tipped it on the preview.
Greg Browning's nap on Aberdeen landed and while I tipped Livingston not to lose I hope anyone one would have covered or cashed out when they led 2-1.
Wednesday's again all about the Champions League and my treble might be my only bet with nothing much else to look at.

Not the best of days yesterday and looking towards the lower leagues for some potential value.
Sometimes you have to adapt your ‘usual’ betting style to suit the game and last night was a perfect example where everything pointed to an ‘unders’ game in the Rochdale v Oldham cup game – I flagged it but didn’t back it because it simply doesn’t suit how I like to bet.
But, that’s s flaw on my part and although I much prefer going for numbers of goals, if the value means going for less then that’s the way it should be!
A chance to prove my point (or possibly make a complete knob of myself) comes in the shape of a game hailing from the English Isthiman League this evening…
LEWES VS. BRIGHTLINGSEA REGENT (1945 KO):
Lewes sit around 1/3 on for the win here and whilst I can see the reasoning for the price, I suspect the margin of the probable victory may be lower than the favouritism suggests.
Lewes sit 3rd but could well leapfrog a couple of places for a tied top spot with a win here whereas Regent look a world apart down in 19th place – but, factor in their games in hand and with a good wind they could see themselves around the mid-table mark which changes the complexion a touch.
What changes it further and drives my line of thinking is Regent’s away record; only 2 of their last 8 away league games have seen more than 2 goals with 3 wins, 4 draws and just 1 loss – and that solitary defeat to top side Dorking!
As for Lewes, they are certainly in better form but scorelines aren’t what I’d class as overwhelmingly in favour of goals with 3 of their most recent 5 league matches failing to trap for 3 or more.

My local team Altrincham face a visit from AFC Telford tomorrow, pitch inspection pending. Has been a lot of rain but as long as it doesn’t heave it down again in the morning should be OK to go ahead.
This is a potentially tough match for 4th place Alti, with Telford breathing down their neck in 5th, however I think the lads have enough to win this. The Home record speaks volumes and Alti are on a great run – have won the last 4 games in a row, and convincingly at that. They’ve scored 2+ goals in each of these and are on a roll. I was at the York game a few weeks back and they completely dominated them winning 3-0. Also scored no less than FOUR goals against league leaders Bradford PA in the Cup at home the other week.
Telford have been fairly tight at the back but I think they will struggle to keep Alti out and team goals is my NAP.
