WEDNESDAY night's Champions League goalfest was a reward for punters stung by the first legs at Liverpool and Lyon.
Both finished scoreless when overs were expected but last night both came good with 10 goals in the two ties.
Plenty of winners, including Greg, on the site so well done to everyone who got involved.
I tipped four out of four winners on my Champions League preview – Liverpool to win, Bayern v Liverpool btts & over 2.5 goals, Barcelona & over 2.5 goals and Lionel Messi to score first.
Messi to score first was an 11-5 Super Single and my Top Treble of Liverpool to score, Barcelona & over 2.5 goals and Norwich was a 5-2 winner.
In fact I was only denied a full house thanks to what's been described as the worst penalty in history. I needed a Swansea goal to bring up the both to score treble but Bersant Celina slipped and the ball travelled about two yards sideways before cleared. That was a sore one but I know who'll be hurting most.
Tonight it's all about the Europa League and the Arsenal game interests me most. The Gunners were shocked 3-1 at Rennes in the first leg after going down to 10 men.
But at home they're different beasts and Alexandre Lacazette is available after his band was reduced from three games to two on appeal. This seems to have stunned Rennes who know the striker well from his days as a goal machine at Lyon.
I expect Arsenal to qualify and while 2-0 will be enough there is the possibility of a goal from the attack-minded French so I'll go with Arsenal and over 2.5 match goals.
Add over 2.5 goals at Slavia Prague v Sevilla. The game is locked at 2-2 and both sides have been scoring and conceding plenty. Sevilla have let in 2+ in five of their last six but have 14 during that spell. Slavia have banged in 17 in five so should be plenty of goals tonight.
Complete the treble with over 1.5 goals at Inter v Eintracht Frankfurt. A 0-0 in the first leg was a surprise and while the Italians are warm favourites their visitors are well capable of scoring.
I've ignored the early games with Chelsea and Napoli all but through and the other tie tough to call. Krasnodar are tough to beat at home and hit an away goal in Valencia so could qualify.
For a Super Single I'm going back to the Arsenal game. It's almost written in the stars that Lacazette will score having missed the first leg and now being given a reprieve by UEFA.
While team-mate Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is hot favourite to score first it's possible both will be on target as the Gunners go for goals.

Can see goals in these 3 games tonight. One is finely balanced at 2-2 while Salzburg and arsenal have to go for it, and try and score early to claw back the deficit. I watched Salzburg v Napoli last week and while Salzburg were outclassed they battered Napoli the first 15 mins and had a goal harshly ruled out. Napoli were pretty hopeless at the back apart from coulibaly who was immense, but he is suspended this week and i can see Salzburg taking advantage of that. The same could be said of Salzburg, having seen a fair bit of them the past few seasons I have never seen them as poor defensively as they were last week and with them piling forward I can see Napoli catching them on the break. As for goals form in the other 2 matches, Sevilla last 4 have seen btts/ over 2.5 so they are scoring and conceding plenty, while slavia have netted 17 in their last 5 so know the way to goal. Arsenal and Rennes have both netted 12 in their last 5, so recent form suggests their could be goals in this game too (allied to the fact one side has to score 3 to progress) GL

Slim pickings this evening once Europa fixtures come to a close and I have been looking for some value. I think I may have found one in the only Copa Libertadores fixture this evening k/o 10.15pm. San Jose are a massive 14/1 to win this evening and whilst I don’t expect them to win I do think they can snatch a goal. In their only game so far they managed an impressive 25 shots on goal against the league favourites. Not one for big stakes but I am on San Jose over 0.5 team goals at a healthy 13/10 and a more speculative punt of over over 1.5 team goals at 6/1. This against a team that conceded 2 goals in their first game.

Really unlucky with the treble Mr F, I plumped to watch the Inter game, the Italians are such a poor side nowadays and have been in utter disarray since exiling Icardi, never looked threatening. However, Frankfurt comfortably should have scored 3 or 4 goals tonight, plenty of situations where they outnumbered the Italians on the counter but lacking that killer ball. Not without chances though, there was one you defo will not want to see.
