LAST week was reckoned to be the toughest weekend for punters and Saturday doesn't look that much easier.
Maybe it's just me but games look tougher to call with loads of teams in loads of leagues evenly matched.
At least the Premier League is back with Liverpool trying to extend their lead at the top with Spurs and Man City not playing. They travel to Brighton and should bounce back from last week's defeat at the Etihad.
There isn't an outstanding Premier League game on Saturday but Sunday's Spurs v Liverpool clash should be a cracker. I'll post a preview of that and watch out for other previews of big games on the site.
Friday night's games didn't go to plan when it came to goals. Leeds and Benfica as expected won but they didn't concede and the third leg of my bet was also a loser with only goal at Valenciennes.

The “potential champions” will want to bounce back after 2 defeats and they should do so against Brighton who will be without their first choice Aussie goalkeeper Matt Ryan (at International duty in Asian Cup). Liverpool clearly didn’t want to go for FA Cup as they look to win their first league title in 3 decades.
● Cardiff Draw no Bet
Cardiff were bookies relegation favourites before the season started and will still be in the mix till the end of season. But if they are to stay in Premier League they will have to beat teams below them. Huddersfield have lost 9 in a row and dont look like winning a game anytime soon. Can cardiff make home advantage count? I’ve kept draw on side and gone for draw no bet.
● Norwich not to lose
It looks like a battle between Leeds & Norwich for the championship! However if West Brom beat Norwich they will be level on points with Norwich. I think West midlands side will be affected by departure of Leicester loanee Barnes Harvey who scored 9 goals for West Brom in first half of season. Norwich have 4 of their last 5 visits to The Hawthorns. Norwich have only lost 1 away league game this season and they have only failed to score once in all away games which suggest both teams to score could be a good bet as well. I reckon norwich can get a point atleast.
● Hull Draw no Bet
Here’s a side that started 2019 with a 6-0 win in front of home fans and can win against Sheffield wednesday who are on and off this season. Hull are big price 20/21 to win but I’ve opted for draw no bet option.
● Juve to win the cup game
Juventus play Bologna in Copa Italia before their Super Cup game against Milan. I’m not sure whether they will rest players or not but Juve are like much stronger than Bologna side. Last 5 h2h are all won by Juventus.

Victory have been without Honda for 4 games now and it’s no coincidence that they have 1W, 2D and 1L in this time. He is key to the way they want to play and a massive loss. Carlisle are on a great run of 6 straight victories and scored 20 goals in the process,today they travel too a Northampton side that draw too many games due to a lack of goals with 32 in 26 games. Infact Northampton sit 17th and Carlisle are in 5th 15 points clear despite having lost 2 games more than Northampton. Some key news is pointing me towards an away win is that Matt Crooks and Kevin Van Veen have departed Northampton this week, between them they’ve scored 12 of Northamptons 32 league goals and given Northamptons struggle for goals with both in the team its going to be harder without for sure.

Whilst all right-thinking people will be wanting to see a Carlisle United win bear in mind the team news. Two of those players (Yates and Nadesan) are not currently at the club. One or both may return but neither will play today.
Nadesan has been playing centre forward, it may be that Hope is switched there where he’s less effective, the useless Bennett may start or there could be a debut. Lineups will be out soon.
Northampton Town have apparently lost their three best players this week (Waters, Van Veen and Crooks).

Burnley’s home form keeps them up for me and against Fulham side you on paper are in a false position they aren’t just incapable of keeping a clean sheet, goals will be few and far between but I expect Burnley to get the job done. My home town team Wigan are in free fall at the moment, at the start of the season they were good for goals at both ends but the goals being scored have dried up, villa will have too much for them and should win this comfortably. Lastly add burton who I think will bounce back with a vengance after their midweek mauling, Nigel Clough I’m sure will demand a reaction and at home I think they’ll get it.

Dissapointed with the lack of goals but Brighton were well organised,they were never really a threat,Liverpool solid as usual.

After the city loss this was the game they had to go out and lay down their intentions but they were limp not having a single shot on target the entire 1st half and relying on a lucky penalty? I don’t see how liverpool would have won the game without the penalty. Salah looks like he lost his scoring boots only waiting for pens and macca shouldn’t lable others comments stupid just because your red tinted specs doesn’t like the sound of it.

Fair to say the Sao Paulo Youth Cup hasn’t replicated it’s form from recent years and although the games are seeing plenty of goals, the bookmakers have called the goal lines spot on with most picks falling a goal short – not great but that’s the nature of the beast.

Right lads think its that time of year for a heart to heart with all the main men who always seem to do well and know the best way to go about ther betting business. Any chance yous can put up some advice an giv a few tips on how to go about it. Etc stakes betting banks singles or just the way yous do your daily bets. Everythg ive been touching turning to saw dust. An im dwn at least 1500 . Mr f.Dc,hull,greg,wsclueless. And every1 else who has a strategy on betting. Any replys welcome would like to change my tactics
I’m sure Greg and co will know better but my own experience recently was to stick to singles, get an account with matchbook or betfair etc where really you can only do single bets, get rid of all the others as you will be tempted to do accas, trebles etc. I do mostly goal bets and quite often wait for 10/15 mins in play for a better price and then jump on, if there’s a goal before then just leave it, plenty more games to bet on. 2 or 3 well researched games per day sat/sun and the odd midweek game and you should see some profit, need to be patient but it soon adds up 👍
Have written this a lot – to keep to brief have a betting bank that should sustain you.
Never risk to lose more than 10 per cent a day so your betting bank won’t empty unless you have 10 bad days in a row.
If you’re on a bad run lower stakes and selections and do more research if you have the time.
Check form, stats, h2hs, team news and even the weather and refs and don’t bet until you’re sure you’ve done everything you can.
Then of course you need form and stats to go your way – and that’s possibly the hardest part.

On a bad run myself. Very rare someone can make a real decent amount of long term money at gambling, there are those that can but few and far between.
One question I ask myself is: How much in the last 12 months have I staked on bets? It was more than I thought and I don’t bet big amounts.
The all day long bettors have good days and periods of time and also bad times but most of them if they were truly honest would look at the last 12 or 6 months history and not want to face up to the ‘too much’ label.
Chasing losses- I’ve done it (guilty) and you can see on here and elsewhere the ones who do it.
Trimming it all right back as I know more about boxing and a fan of it compared to football and as for the horses, volatile. I know people who have forgotten more than I’ll ever know.
Dont really think any1 on this site makes money from football betting long term. So u havta ask yourself wat is the point. Is it worth even doing it

Racing accounts for most of the losses.
I say more like 1%, when I worked part time at Hills, there was only around a dozen people monitored in the area. Majority were racing punters, only 3 on football and they weren’t that profitable but were considered a threat due to high stakes. Guarantee that if your monitored at 1 store, you will be in all stores in the area, they pass info on.
I think a thread would be better Mr F, see if it gathers any interest and due to the depth of the posts if people did contribute. For people that want to improve on there betting like myself + Micky and am sure a lot of others, gaining knowledge from experienced bettors would be priceless
I’d say 90% are operating at a loss on football betting due to being your typical Acca bettor on a weekend in the hope of turning a small stake into something extravagant.
Thing about the guys who do the big accas they only need to hit 1 or 2 a season.
I had 4 draws at 150-1 recently plus the trebles and that makes a huge difference to the figures – although for my stats on here they are not included.
Yeah very true but you do research Mr F, and I think only a very small minority do that when it comes to accas leading to potential profitability. What has become apparent to me is most punters compile accas picking teams based on reputation with no consideration for team news, form etc. and are not very mindful of losses.
Most punters, not on here though, will bet for fun and there should always be some fun bets.
But if you want to make money you have to spend some time on research. At least buy the RFO on Tuesday – it’s an essential guide as far as I’m concerned.
