Top Football Tips

LIVERPOOL have enjoyed a fantastic season but it's all beginning to unravel at a crucial time.

Barcelona look set to eliminate them from the Champions League at the semi-final stage and despite losing just one Premier League match they are set to be second best to Man City.

Jurgen Klopp's men could end up with the same reward as Spurs – a CL semi-final and a place in next season's tournament even though they've lost 11 games fewer in the EPL. That's how much Liverpool and City are ahead of the rest.

Liverpool have to win at Newcastle tonight or City will be crowned champs by beating Leicester at home on Monday. It's a tough place to go these days and it wouldn't surprise me if Rafa Benitez guided his side to at least a point against the club he managed to Champions League glory.

I've posted separate English and Scottish previews with Celtic needing a point at Aberdeen in the early kick-off to clinch eight in a row. Kevinmac has written an Aberdeen vs Celtic preview and Bournemouth v Spurs is the early game down south and agrees with me the home is value on his Vitality Stadium match preview.

It's a big day and a big weekend with the final round of all the UK leagues barring the top flights before the play-offs kick in and there's still plenty to play for.

My long-shot VIP tips are on another thread for members only but here are the top tips – and goals look the way to go this weekend.

On Friday my Top Treble was well beaten with results not going the way expected. Well done to any winners and good luck with your weekend bets.

They might slip up – I’m not wishing for them to slip up though as when it comes to English clubs I’m pretty neutral.
Leeds were my English team in the 70s/80s but only because of the Scots playing for them – Bremner, McQueen, Harvey, Lorimer, the Grays, etc.

    Saturday tips

As we near to the end of the season, I thought I would try a different approach today. I have spent hours looking for the right away three teams and hopefully I’ve picked them out well.

    Fleetwood:
Fleetwood have the worst disciplinary in the league one this season with 100 yellows and 8 reds which averages 27.27 booking points per game. Looking at their last 5 away games: 3Y+R/2Y+R/3Y/1Y/0Y.

I’ve checked the referee and today it’s Lee Swabey. He has a very good track record last 10 games totalling 46 yellows and 4 reds.
    5Y/4Y+R/3Y/5Y/4Y/5Y+R/6Y+2R/5Y+R/7Y/2Y

    Notts County:
Notts county know today is a must win and they will be ensuring they do everything they can to put themselves in a winning position. I expect if they go 1-0 up, they will be getting stuck in.

Their record isn’t the worst but certainly in top 6 this season for booking with a total of 77 yellows and 6 reds which averages 20.44 booking points per game. Last 5 away games totals 7 yellows and 1 red.

However, Kevin Johnson, who is allocated the ref for today’s game has a good record over last 10 games showing 40 yellows and 2 reds.
    5Y/2Y/5Y/7Y/7Y/3Y/4Y/1Y+R/3Y+R/3Y

    Hamilton:
It could be D day for Dundee Fc and they come up against a Hamilton side looking to avoid second bottom for a relegation playoff spot. Dundee will need to go all out to give themselves any chance and I expect Hamilton will be getting stuck in.

Hamilton have the worst disciplinary record in the league racking up 78 yellows and 4 records this season which averages 25.14 booking points per game. Last 5 have seen 13 yellows with 2Y/3Y/4Y/2Y/2Y.

Nick Walsh is the referee at dens today and he has a decent record over last 10 games showing 39 yellows and 1 red card giving an average of 3.9 yellows per game. 3Y/5Y/2Y/8Y+R/2Y/4Y/6Y/4Y/4Y/1Y.

    Skybet treble
    20+ booking points Fleetwood
    20+ booking points Notts County
    20+ booking points Hamilton.

In answer to comments yesterday. The mainstay of bets I place are now almost exclusively, from info & tips I see on here, with maybe the odd tweak or two. On that point, I would like to thank MrF for the site and the brilliant information posted by too many to name individually. The Goliaths I do are funded by these other bets and in the main are cost neutral to me. They are for me a source of entertainment, that can spread over an entire day of football, though I do take on board maccathered’s point. However, I have never suggested that anyone else follows these and in reality, if you don’t like them, then just ignore them.

    NAP

    –Single–
    Luton v Oxford United

Looks a pretty even fixture this, with Oxford having the better recent form of the two. Both sides have had a lot of goals – Luton’s last 8 games in a row have all seen a minimum of 3 match goals, whilst Oxford’s last 3 have all seen the same pattern, with them scoring twice or more in each of those. Luton will want the win as they have Barnsley breathing down their neck on equal points.

The last 4 head-to-heads have seen both teams scoring and at least 3 goals on the board, they certainly have a high-scoring history. Looks a good value bet.

I have a feeling Derby will win with spare tomorrow. For the last 3 games, a top 6 has been in our own hands. Away to Swansea and after going a deserved goal up we ended the first half strong and started the 2nd half well, but Swansea came back into the game and nobody can deny, Swansea deserved the point.
Regardless of what Borough and Bristol do, Derby have to win this game and take the last slot. 5 months back and the Hawthorns was a fortress. They had an intimidating home win streak and Derby obliterated them. We were 2 up in the first 15 mins, WBA got an early red card at 2 down and the final scoreline was 4-1 to Derby. That started a 2 month period of WBA’s form dipping, but they turned it around and finished in the playoffs.
Derby don’t do things easily, often when we’re able to capitalize on rivals results going our way, we’ve often drawn. Considering we have not spent much, I think we’ve done well, but we have relied on 3 quality loan signings – Tomori, Mount and Wilson.
WBA have a slim chance of catching Leeds in 3rd, but if they do beat Derby, they may knock us out of the playoffs. I don’t think WBA will throw the kitchen sink at us because they’ll possibly not catch Leeds. I think they’d rather have a local 2 leg Derby against Villa and try for the final that way. I think it’s their best chance.
Derby have been lacking away from home but in front of the home fans, we’re quite solid. It’s a big occasion, the Tv people are there and there is a top 6 finish in touching distance. Derby know they can do the biz on them away from home, now it’s time to finish the job.
I’ll be on hand tomorrow for the team news and pre-match thoughts.

    Women’s FA Cup
Only one winner I see here Man city women
Better players far more experience and just superior .
Think west ham can get at least a goal but man city will get several

    The bets:

Man city women win and btts
    13/8

Manchester City Women to score 2+ goals and 20+ West Ham United Ladies booking pts
    7/2

20+ West Ham United Ladies booking points
    5/2

    1st team carded
    West Ham United Ladies
    5/4

Personally I feel it will be at least a 2 goal margin of victory -2 goal handicap .

Manchester City Women to score 3+ goals, 6+ Manchester City Women corners and 20+ West Ham United Ladies booking pts
    9/1

Skybet specials were useless today too many low scoring games was expecting a few 4-3 or 5-4s.
One bet I’ve seen on MoPlay is Newcastle +1.5 bookings Evens buying money that
