THERE were plenty of goals in the Europa League but some of us picked the wrong game – myself and Greg were both beaten by a surprise 0-0 at Salzburg.

Scott did better with his members goals bet which was a winner and the golf twoball posted by Ace Venturer on Wednesday won thanks to Jamie Lovemark.

Jordan also had a winner and he's promised some Friday tips on the Jupiler league. There is a members bet from Greg and he's likely to put up French Ligue 2 tips as well.

Games tonight include St Johnstone v Hibs – hopefully we'll get some thoughts from Greg on that one – Monaco v Lille, Levante v Eibar and Freiburg v Stuttgart.

I'm tempted to take Hibs to edge as they try to close the gap on second-placed Rangers to four points but I'm going Hibs draw no bet in what could be a tight affair in windy conditions.

Add Monaco and over 2.5 match goals against Lille. Monaco have netted 2+ in their last 11 games and their previous six – all wins bar a 3-3 draw at Toulouse – have gone over 2.5 goals.

Lille's last five have seen both scoring but they have failed to win any and their last two against Monaco have been 4-0 defeats home and away.

Complete a Top Treble with Excelsior not to lose at home to Den Haag. Excelsior have lost seven at home and that's a worry but their recent form is good – three wins in four – while Den Haag have one win in five. Head-to-head stats suggest goals but Den Haag have scored in only two of their last five including two 0-0 draws.

Remember to visit our friends at WeLoveBetting for latest tips and video chat and check out all the Cheltenham tips on the final of four days.

    Fridays goal tip
Steering away from my usual Friday hunting ground of the A league today as both sides are in poor form and I can’t make my mind up on a goals bet. Focusing on France and turkey instead where we see 2 Home teams who’s recent form suggest they are more than capable of covering the goal lines I’ve chosen.
Monaco have scored 2 or more in 18 of their last 20 matches and on 9 of those occasions they have netted 3 or more. Take them over 2.5 tgs.
The 2nd selection comes from kasimpasa of turkey who have had an upturn in fortunes at home recently winning 4 and drawing 1 of their last 5. In 3 of those matches they’ve hit the net at least twice including a defeat of high flying galatasaray. Added to that, their opponents are poor away from home not winning once on the road yet in the league in 13 matches and conceding at least 2 goals in 9 of those games. They also have a few injury problems for today’s game. Back kasimpasa o1.5tgs

    Goals tip
    Monaco o2.5tgs
    Kasimpasa o1.5tgs

  12. alex_mufc83 6 years ago

Guys – has anyone had a scenario where a bookie has settled your winnings incorrectly, you’ve drawn the money out and it’s cleared into your bank account, then they TRANSFER IT BACK out of your bank account????

888Sport have withdrawn £500 from my bank account without even notifying me !!!!! I’ve had no correspondence from them or notification

How is that even possible when I haven’t authorised anything?

    • rog 6 years ago

We’re you aware it had been settled incorrectly and drew it out smartish ?

    • alex_mufc83 6 years ago

I wasn’t aware it was incorrect, but was a little puzzled at the amount was higher than expected. I withdrew it and the withdrawal was approved by them, and cleared into my bank account.

I don’t know how it’s possible they can just take money out of my bank account when it’s cleared and I haven’t authorised any transfer.

    • sasaharv62 6 years ago

Happened to me Alex with Ladbrokes.I had a team to score 2 goals, they scored 1 and had one disallowed,i got paid ,withdrew it,but BEFORE it was cleared, they took it back hahaha….Never known anyone to go INTO a bank account and get it back.

    • alex_mufc83 6 years ago

I can understand it being stopped during clearance process, but they’ve literally taken the money out of my bank account after clearing – surely there has to be an authorisation by me for that to happen. I’ve emailed them for an urgent response.

    • HullShaker 6 years ago

Alex, if you have withdrawn £500 when not entitled to it then you have to expect to give that back when it is flagged by the bookmaker.

In terms of them accessing it, you will at some point have clicked to agree terms and conditions with them stating something along the lines of “agreeing that they have the right to recoup any monies paid out as a result of mistaken settlements.”

See another loss in SA for you last night – it’s not been a good week over there for punters. Onwards.

    • alex_mufc83 6 years ago

@hullshaker – I didn’t realise I they had incorrectly settled so you can imagine my shock when I log into my bank account and see -£500 from 888Sport. It was from last Friday, when I turned 2 POINTS into approx 50 POINTS with in plays & an acca that all landed, but they must’ve settled it as 100 POINTS in total.

Yeah I’m steering clear of SA for a while now, just isn’t delivering the goals lately. Back to basics.

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

I’ve said it before if you are wrongly paid and then withdraw those “winnings” they’re allowed to take back the money from your bank account.
I don’t think it’s right – they should at least warn you but I suppose you could then close your account with them and change your bank details.
I’ve had many conversations over the years with bookies on this and some say it’s “stealing” – again I don’t accept that.

    • alex_mufc83 6 years ago

Yeah I don’t mean to tread over old turf here, it’s just the sheer amount they took out of my account I thought there’d have to be some authorisation for that to happen – at the very least an email from them confirming their actions. I wasn’t trying to pull a fast one, just assumed i’d miscalculated the return on my acca.
Withdrawing the money straight back without any form of notification is out of order if you ask me, any other company would at least notify you. They really have all bases covered don’t they the bookies, with very little effort made to customer service.

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

I totally agree it’s out of order but it seems to be common practice. I’ve asked about this before and the bookie will say it’s their money and they don’t need to ask for it back. Not sure where banks stand on this.
Good customer service would be to engage with the punter. My advice to anyone not sure about a withdrawal is don’t assume it’s your money until a couple of weeks have gone by which would suggest any mistakes haven’t been spotted.
A couple of years ago a pal of mine won over a grand and knew the bet was down. He even told the bookie but they insisted it had been settled correctly.
Eventually they took the money back without telling him and put his account into the red and he faced bank charges.
On that occasion I managed to get him half his money as they accepted he had done everything to tell them the bet was a loser.

    • alex_mufc83 6 years ago

Wow, that says it all really doesn’t it Mr F. Even if you do everything right they screw you over. That’s exactly the sort of thing i’m talking about. Unethical practices, when a simple email notification that an error has been made on their part would solve it.

  13. williegee 6 years ago

Hi Guys, Just noticed bet365 are offering prices for the CL draw -teams to be drawn against- at the moment all teams priced at 11/2. If my maths are right if you cover all selections, say £20, cost you £120 but you would receive £130 back, therefore profit £10. If you could afford to do it for all teams now, would be £50 profit no sweat.

    • williegee 6 years ago

Sorry Lads should have read Europa League Draw!

    • sean567 6 years ago

£120 would suggest there’s only 6 permutations williegee. There’s more than that in a quarter final draw.

    • sasaharv62 6 years ago

      28 perms I reckon

    • williegee 6 years ago

Sorry Sean, Your right there are 8 teams in the Q/Finals, so you would need to cover 7 perms, my maths aren’t that great after all Ha Ha!

    • cockerspaniel 6 years ago

Sky have them all at 6/1 so by my reckoning if you stuck a tenner on say Arsenal getting drew against any of them
you would get 70 quid back for a outlay of 70.You would not win but you would not lose either.

  14. sasaharv62 6 years ago

Liverpool v Man city in CL …wooooohoooooo

  15. power 6 years ago

    Champion league Draw
    Barcelona vs Roma
    Seville vs Bayern
    juventus vs real Madrid
    Liverpool vs man city

for me this a wrong draw why Liverpool vs city only two England while there are three Spain why not Barcelona vs real Madrid or Seville this is wrong for me it’s wrong

    • -wato- 6 years ago

What do you mean? It’s a draw any team could play any other it’s just how they were drawn out how can it be “wrong”? Very strange comment

    • obi wan cannoli 6 years ago

It’s quite literally the luck of the draw. Certainly not “wrong”. And at least it means an English team will progress through to the semi-finals. Which if they weren’t facing one another, may certainly not be the case!

    • maccathered 6 years ago

I think it’s a great draw,Liverpool and Man City alike know a lot about each other,City have the advantage with having the home tie in the second Leg,i can’t see many goals either two tight cagey affairs with no one wanting to lose.

    • alex_mufc83 6 years ago

Should be a cracker. You going with Liverpool to do the business Macca? ;)

    • maccathered 6 years ago

Oooooh tough question alex, tough tie indeed for both sides. It’s a knockout could be anybody’s,sure City will be the ones being backed.

    • alex_mufc83 6 years ago

I think it’s going to be really close, down to small margins, maybe a defensive mistake, or a Wellbeck-esque penalty decision

    • maccathered 6 years ago

Would of rather had Barcelona then Man City but to win this comp at this stage it doesn’t really matter who you draw because there all tough games, you have to fancy a ton of goals in the Bayern Munich and Barcelona games.

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

Great draw for the neutrals – hope you’re wrong about 2 cautious games. We want more of the same.

    • alex_mufc83 6 years ago

Yes a goal-fest would be great to see in both legs. If City win hopefully they will spend all their energy on the CL, and lose a few PL games… one can only hope (I know this won’t happen). I am literally dreading Utd playing them – if City win they can celebrate winning the PL at OT right in our faces. I know all the Utd haters will love this though ha ha.

    • maccathered 6 years ago

Liverpool need a lead to take to City thats for sure,we have beaten them already at Anfield and that will be my call for the first leg,it was rather easy that game but i would expect a lot tighter games in both legs. They wouldn’t have wanted to draw us and vice versa.

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

A agree – the fact the second leg is at the Emirates may give City the edge.

    • chelseagirl 6 years ago

No what is wrong is the fact Champions of certain countries have to play qualifiers they should go straight into group stages. To me it is not a competition it is all suited for the big boys.

    • -wato- 6 years ago

What size would the group stages been then? Obviously need qualifying rounds. The winner always comes from one of the major European leagues anyway

    • maccathered 6 years ago

If you had the champions of every country for example Celtic,nk maribor,or Man Utd go straight to the group stages then it wouldn’t be an elite competition,it would be more like the Europa, thats why there is two european cups,i mean Nk Maribor or Celtic don’t cut it with the likes of Real Madrid or Barcelona it would be a non contest, the aim of the champions league is to pit the best teams against eachother nk maribor don’t come into that category.

    • -wato- 6 years ago

Exactly impossible to have all teams going straight into the Champions League group stages most just simply not good enough and would effectively just create a massive European league with far to many games

  16. HullShaker 6 years ago

Looking ahead to this evening and hoping to put the ghost of Guarani to bed with a little trip to Iceland…

KF VS. LEIKNIR FÁSKRÚDSFJ. (2115 KO):

These two have met 6 times in recent years (1-3, 2-1, 1-2, 5-0, 3-3 and 4-0) with Leiknir winning all but the 3-3 game…they are certainly one of the better sides in the 3rd tier and I’d expect them to make the 4th tier hosts work hard for anything tonight.

With recent goals totals of 3-5-5-5-5 and 3-6-3-3-55 respectively we could be in for a bit of action – I’m taking most of that action to come grom Leiknir in the latter parts of the match:

LEIKNIR 2ND HALF HIGHEST SCORING HALF…20/21

Not liking too much today. Think there could be goals for either side in the Karabukspor game but it’s hard to fancy a team with too much enthusiasm when they’ve netted just 8 times at home this season. Price has shortened from 4/5, too, so I think I’ll leave that alone.

Instead I’m mostly keeping the pennies in my pocket, with just a speculative punt on a man in-form.

Hi gents. Late home from work so no write-up. Good luck if you follow ??

    Emmen/Helmond BTTS & Over 2.5 Goals @ 20/21 @ 365 – 2.1 points

Could attempt a double with the same market in the Eindhoven/Utrecht Youth game. Pays 2/1 @ 365 ??

      Beat me to it @jordan
      It does look good ?

  35. philwindy 6 years ago

    FC Emmen vs Helmond
Watched the home team play at home last time out and backed them to win inplay with 15 mins to go. They got stung on the counter two times and lost 2-0 the opposition that day only had those to chances and how FC Emmen didn’t score I will never understand.

They responded last time out with a good 3-2 win against everyone’s favourite FC Oss.
Helmond may well be in the bottom end of the table, but they are not shy of a goal.

When these to meet their is more often than not Over 3’5 goals with both contributing.

    Over 2,5 & BTTS @1.95

    Good luck

well that was arguably one of the worst first half performances ive ever witnessed from 1/4 title contending team

keita balde subbed off at half time despite creating the only chance of the half for monaco which led to the goal

although even i will admit he didnt do alot else monaco very poor and will be avoiding them for the remainder of the season

cheateourx won 2-1 so hopefully a few were on that

Kasimpasa Manage 2 with 10men, while Monaco can only manage the same with 11 ?

    Sat morn goals tip
Going to oz first thing. 635 and 850 am the top 2 are in action and they should be good for goals. Sydney are toiling in the afc but remain head and shoulders above anything has to offer. The jets have a shaky record against the Phoenix and tasted defeat the last time around but still managed to cover the goal line, plus Phoenix are about 10times worse. I could get another 10 bodies from here to play them and they wouldn’t keep a clean sheet against us.

  60. davros 6 years ago

Couldn’t cover it Macca as St Johnstone scored in 83rd min v Hibs, well before Athlone had netted in last minutes vs UCD to bring up UCD win and btts. Only a tenner but so near to £760 return grrrrr!!

Yeah, goal timings were the wrong way round to cover, would have had massive cash out figure had Athlone scored while Hibs were still 1-0 up….

So I watched Mourinho’s press conference today and I think he wanted to get it off chest. He needed to vent and its possible that he has had some arguements with players after champions league exit.
To me, that gives Brighton a chance tomorrow. Glen Murray to make life miserable for united fans?

    • maccathered 6 years ago

It’s the most embarrassing press conference i have ever seen from him and there’s been a few,he’s basically saying he needs more money for better players, why can’t he just come out and say his players were poor and he is to blame for his tactics.

    • garry 6 years ago

Whether the team he inherited was good or not it does not matter because the signings he made as Man United manager were on the bench against Sevilla. So he is contradicting himself by pointing out he inherited an inferior team to city.
His tactics were too pragmatic and paid too much respect to Sevilla in my opinion.
Anyway… I’ll have a punt on Murray to score tomorrow. Probably do a RAB for Murray to score a penalty. What do you think?

    • maccathered 6 years ago

He’s in fine form could be a handful for Man Utd’s shady defense why not, anything can happen in a cup tie and Brighton have nothing to lose.I’m doing all four ties to be decided on pens nothing stands out for me even the Spurs game could go either way. There are better games to bet on this weekend.

    • jos 6 years ago

Mourinho is nothing but a Charlatan! Been saying it for years. I’m not against any club he as “managed”. But this joke really does pretend to have skills he hasn’t got! Any success that’s come his way is down to the players, not this halfwit! It’s time owners of clubs saw through him. The Chelsea players obviously did and SURELY the united players are just as dissolusioned!

  65. over40 6 years ago

Hahaha carabobo scored a pen in the 95th minute ?, they had more red cards than shots on goal, mental!!

  66. HullShaker 6 years ago

I like a bit of action but that game was no good for the heart – 3 red cards and a missed penalty for Carabobo but a twist in the tail…love it ?

    CARABOBO VS. MONAGAS (2300 KO):

I’m sweet as hell on Carabobo here – one of the higher class Venezuelan sides at home to a bobbins Monagas side propping up the table.

Carabobo have netted a minimum of 2 goals in 5 of the last 7 H2H’s and head into this one having scored a brace in 80% of their last 5 domestic matches.

    Two selections to consider:
