AFTER two days of profit it was back to the drawing board with Hearts' failure beating my main treble and St Etienne downing the French treble at the first hurdle.
Hearts weren't the only surprise with Rangers crashing to Kilmarnock after Jermain Defoe opened the scoring on his debut. Incredibly the winner came from Jordan Jones who will join Rangers in the summer and he's bound to get a hot reception now.
Celtic were easy winners against St Mirren and just four points separates the top four in a fascinating title race.
It was a better night for goals though and well done to anyone who profited. Greg was of course spot on by backing St Johnstone to beat Livingston.
Not a great deal to look at on Thursday but there is the second semi-final of the Carabao Cup with Spurs taking a 1-0 lead to Chelsea. Should be a cracker and maybe both to score is the way to go. Scott Allot has posted a preview.
In the Spanish Cup it's Real Madrid v Girona and Espanyol v Betis and there are more French Cup games to flummox us.
And talking of goals I flagged them up in Ajax v Heerenveen games at the weekend and it ended 4-4 in the league. They meet again in the cup quarter-finals and should be goals galore. We know all some of the stats but they are remarkable with Ajax netting 4+ in their last five meetings and 95 in 30 home games against their opponents.
I'm happy to take both to score at a respectable price and as has been pointed out Ajax may rest a couple with a vital league game against Feyenoord at the weekend. Also dc john boy pointed out Heerenveen to score at 4-5 was a great price – best I can see now is 4-6 so I'll stick with both to score.

Well it took them 83 mins but they’ve done what just about everybody thought they would……..
One game of interest for me today and it’s in Holland where Ajax take on Heerenveen in a re run of the league game on Sunday that finished 4-4. The last 5 meetings between the sides have produced an incredible 27 goals with Ajax netting 4+ every time so I think it’s fair to expect goals in this game. Going with a nap a nb and a punt- all goals based and I’d be majorly shocked if the first 2 don’t land

After much deliberation, i’m on these two for tonight. Heerenven’s scoring potential already been covered on the site, but I also expect Girona to notch a goal in the Spanish Cup vs Real. They’ve scored in their last 6 games in a row and whilst Real have kept a few clean sheets at home lately, it’s a cup game and anything can happen.
I’ve also added the other Spanish Cup game, Espanyol v Real Betis. The home side have notched a couple of important Home wins lately, but whilst the visitors Betis are liable to concede, they also have a goal in them. Added to complete the treble. As these are all cup games I advise sensible stakes, anything can happen, so it’s 1 point on each.

Both sides have one thing in common and that’s keeping clean sheets. From last 10 both have only conceded 7 goals with Chelsea keeping a clean sheet in 8 from last 12 at home. They’re averaging 1.7 per game this season which is low in comparison to spurs hitting 2.9.
▪Not a massive fan of betting on cup games but with another night of poor fixtures I’m going with it. Previous fixtures suggest goals with last matches seeing 3-1, 1-3, 2-1 & 4-2 results.
