THERE wasn't too much excitement on another Nations League night but plenty of winners.

Scotland saw off Albania with a confident display and the likes of Greg Browning and maccathered were more confident than me they'd win.

Alex McLeish's starting line-up didn't inspire but he got it right and also made the correct change at half-time by bringing on Stuart Armstrong.

My only recommendation on the game was under 2.5 match goals and while it came up the Scots should have scored a few more.

My Top Treble looked good until Serbia and Sweden conceded goals from winning positions.

The last round of games for now are tonight and two matches stand out – Iceland v Belgium and Spain v Croatia.

Belgium were brilliant against Scotland last week while Iceland slumped to a 6-0 defeat in Switzerland. Spain were also impressive as they won at Wembley and it will be interesting to see how they match up against the World Cup runners-up Croatia.

I'll be away most of the day on Tuesday (son is having a minor op) so keeping it simple here and going with an over 2.5 goals double.

Also backing Eden Hazard to score first at 19-4. I correctly tipped Romelu Lukaku to bag the opener against the Scots but Hazard was sensational and also netted.

Other ties include Bosnia v Austria, Hungary v Greece and Finland Estonia and in friendlies England entertain Switzerland, Northern Ireland take on Israel and Republic of Ireland head to Poland.

So plenty to look out and if I'm not tied up all day I might add some tips.

Remember to check out all the match previews and have a look at welovebetting for their tips and videos.

    Morning Gents

It looks like a day for backing the favourites and keepin things simple,

    Poland v Ireland KO 7.45pm

The Irish were absolutley humilated by Wales last week and it doesn’t get any easier – Poland in my opinion are a better side than wales and that does not bode well for Martin O’Neil’s side. It may only be a friendly but i think the Poles are terrfifc value at 3/5and should be backed to win this against an Irish side who have a lot of rebuiling to do as this current squad has come to the end of its shelf life.

    Iceland v Belguim KO 7.45pm

The visitorss will be popular here, not not just becasue they are the third best side in the world and have talent right throughout their sqaud (and not becusase they manaed to beat scotland) but Iceland come into this off the back of a Humiliating 6-0 thrashing by Switzerland.

They have done exceptionally well over the last two years to qualify for back to back tournements and I’m not saying the wheels have come off but you have to fear for them tonight. Belguim will be backed heavily for goals and the handicap markets but im keeping it simple and taking them to just to win

Back Poland / Belguim double 11/10 (Bet365) (NAP)

    **********************************************************************************

A really big fan of over 1.5 match goals in i nternaitonal games – you get really good value and only need a couple of games for evens or above

Have picked out a treble that shouldnt be far away – Poland could bring this in on their own (see above) whilst Engalnd have more than enough fire power to score 2 against the Swiss. My favourite team of the moment Austria will fancy their chances of grabbing a goal away at Bosnia in a match were BTTS has a good chance

    Poland v Ireland
    England v Switzerland
    Bosnia v Austria

Back over 1.5 match goals treble 8/5 (Marathonbet)

    Poland v Rep. of Ireland

We are currently a mess both on and off the pitch and add to that the increasing injury list I think it will be another long night ahead for us. Coleman and Ward are out now and I can see Poland running out easy winners especially as it’s the new manager’s first home game since taking charge and will want a positive result

Poland win to nil 11/8 2pts
    Poland -1 13/8 1.5pts
    Poland -2 4/1 0.5pts

    Falkenbergs > 2.5 MGS 13/8 – half stake
Seem to be in good form having netted 3,4,4 in their recent games. Have also scored 3,3 in the 2018 H2H with Landskrona. Landskrona sit 15/16 in the league and Falkenbergs are second. Hopefully the home team can keep their goal scoring going this evening

Harry Maguire ATGS 8/1 (if he plays) – smaller stake.
Not sure on the line up (no Kane) but the game is at the King Power and fancy “Slabhead” to have at least a couple of chances at corners at his home ground in Leicester

Morning y’all plenty of games to look at today but i tend to stay away from country football but will follow the greats here on any tips worth backing, am headed to Peru – Primera Division Clausura later this evening with the game between Sport Huancayo vs Comerciantes Unidos kick off 11:45pm, the league just kicked off if am right, so am going with stats here the last recent 5 meetings between this two has produced goals at both end leading to 2 or more goals, just twice in the last 9 meetings has failed to produce goals at both end with the host scoring 2 or more goals at home we should see some here:

    Huancayo vs Comerciantes Unidos
    BTTS/OVER2.5 MGLS. ???

    • tipseebone 6 years ago

Before I touchdown in Peru for kick off, just a quick one here I don’t like the brasilian league due to it’s spontaneity but this looks interesting CSA vs VILA NOVA the last 5 games has seen csa scoring 5 and conceded just 1, while vila scoring 3 and conceded 2, last meeting between this two saw csa winning by 1-0, tight looking game but I recon we should see anoda repeated score line here:

      CSA to win ???
      Correct score 1-0 or 2-0 ?

This pick comes with a health warning as I’m on a torrid run at the moment. Hadn’t planned to have a punt until the international break was over, but some non-league action has caught my eye this evening.

    Cleethorpes v Sheffield

Cleethorpes welcome Sheffield off the back of a barnstorming 4-4 draw at unbeaten Stamford last time out. It was a solid result on the road for a team sitting bottom after their opening four games, and I don’t think their league position tells the whole story. Their opening day 1-1 draw with Spalding doesn’t look too bad in the context of Spalding’s tight affairs (just 8 goals in their opening 4 games). They were beat 2-1 by Frickley who have won 3 from 4. Perhaps their only disappointment was the 4-0 loss to unbeaten Ossett, whose games have been goal-laden.

The only team racking in more goals than Ossett so far are Sheffield. An astonishing 30 goals have come in Sheffield’s opening 5 games, while they also took a 5-1 battering in an FA Cup qualifier. Sheffield visited Stockbridge a month back and played out a 3-2 defeat and on early season form I fancy a similar contest tonight with both sides contributing.

Admittedly, with 21 goals in their 3 home games I would’ve rather Sheffield were the home side, but the goal line is more than fair either way.

  19. HullShaker 6 years ago

    Afternoon gents,

I’m steering clear of the Internationals and ploughing a lonely furrow in the Northern Prem after it produced both picks as nice-priced winners at Basford yesterday…

SOUTH SHIELDS VS. LANCASTER CITY (1945 KO):

This could be an absolute hiding as joint 2nd placed South Shield play host to a woeful Lancaster outfit propping up the foot of the table.

South Shields have hit 5, 4 and 3 team goals in their last successive 3 away games this campaign whilst Lancaster have conceded 3, 5 and 4 whilst on their travels during the same spell.

    Two selections I fancy here:

    OVER 3.5MGS…57/50
    (Marathonbet)
    ???

    OVER 4.5 MGS…5/2
    (Skybet)
    ?

    Best of luck ?

Noted 1 or 2 punters backing. Poland on the handicap and goals markets which was my first reaction when considering my bets last night but when looking into the details of this game I was put off slightly when reading 1 or 2 previews of this game that suggested the Ppoles may opt to include some younger fringe squad players in this FRIENDLY. The Republic were absolutely brutal against Wales and got a huge kick up the @ss from the press and the management and I expect them to take a very defensive approach tonight which has served them so well in the past,12/13 of their latest FRIENDLIES have ended under 2.5 mgs which included a 0-0 with Poland,_im not suggesting the Irish will get a result in this by any means but they may just keep the result a little more respectable with the Republic offering very little in an attacking sense.Result is likely a Polish win to nil perhaps 2-0.Good luck.

    • alex_mufc83 6 years ago

Looking ahead too Friday night and 3 strong favourites at around 1/5-1/6 range on the WDW but I fancy all 3 too win by 2+.

    PSG v St Ettiene 4/7
    St Mirren v CELTIC 8/13
    CLUB BRUGGE v Lokeren 8/15

    2.89/1 treble

While looking out teams I spotted the Danish match between Esbjerg and OB Odense, what caught my eye was the away side being 11/10 favourites despite being 2nd bottom of the pile while the hosts are sitting 6th.

Both have played 8 games with Esbjerg winning 3,drew 2 & lost 3 but 2 of the 3 losses were against the top 2 of Brondby and Midtyjland in their last game. Before that loss they had 3 victories on the trot including 2 impressive away 1-0’s at Brondby and AaB Aarhus who sit 3rd & 4th respectably.

Odense on the other hand have 1 solitary victory in 8 with
3 draws and 4 losses. Their sole win was against 3rd bottom Vejle and 2 of their 4 losses came against bottom club Hobro and 4th from bottom Vendsyssel.

The H2H don’t really show a dominant side although Esbjerg have won 2 of the last 4 compared too a solitary victory for Odense.

The home side for me are way too big at 5/2 and if anyone cam shed some light on why the home side are so big please speak up ?

Esbjerg draw no bet 6/4 is the safer option

    • mr h 6 years ago

***Copenhagen was Esbjergs other loss not Brondby as stated ?

    • philwindy 6 years ago

      @mr h

Esbjerg are certainly playing with confidence hammering a lower league team 11-1 last week and there is competition for places up top. Another thing is a fit Van der Vaart signing for them and finally getting game time. This must be a plus for a team like Esbjerg.

I like your thinking and will join you on this for Friday. Best of luck

Poor night for me, 1 win out of 3. Belgium / Spain did the business on the 6/5 double but I was 1 goal short on the Skybet 18+ Nations League goals special and nowhere near with the Welsh double.

    Well done all winners!

Anyone see the goals from the Scotland under 21 smash and grab victory in Holland? Everton Fraser Hornby grabbed both goals in a 2-1 win despite having 26% possession and losing the shot count 22-6. Anyhow his first was from 40yds after the dutch keeper made a horses Johnson of a clearance ? quality execution from the 18yr old. Got a hatrick last time out too. One too keep an eye on

Just back in from a day at the hospital. Saw the result which makes it a double over the Dutch and I think qualifies England automatically.
Hornby looks good but don’t know if he’ll get a chance at Everton or have to go out on loan.

Hope the wee Barbra gets back on form sooner rather than later ?

Yeah he looks a player but as you say his chances at Everton will most likely too limited. Maybe a move up north too a Killie with Clarke, Wright at Greg’s St Johnstone could be a good choice too play alongside Watt. Some quality talent showing through just now and I can’t wait too see how good Billy Gilmour can become, perhaps Scotland finest centre midfielder since Paul McStay dare I say? Time will tell but he’s a baller

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

Gilmour could be the best we’ve had for a while if reaches his potential. He looks class and still so young.
Chelsea obviously rate him highly but not many of their kids make it to the first team.
Rangers fans probably hoping he ends up back on loan up here.

1 bet tonight and is brasil serie b 11pm

    2-3 goals at 21/20

    csa vs villa nova

never really 4 or more goals scored in this league but most times there is a home win or 2-0 or 1-0, i fancy both to score and i predict a 1-1 but again this bet covers 7 scorelines and i dont mind which as long as i get one

    goodluck all
