IT was another tough night but well done to any winners including Jordan.

He tipped goals at St Gallen and it finished 3-2. My two trebles were losers with the sorest one being Hibs' loss at Hearts which means they'll have to settle for fourth.

I was confident about a Juventus win and they won the Twitter vote to get the latest £10 to £1000 challenge off and running.

Tonight it could pay to go for goals in the Dutch play-offs and post-split Belgian games.

The two Dutch quarter-final produced 19 goals over two legs so nearly five a game and on Thursday it's Telstar v De Graafschap, Emmen v NEC Nijmegen, Dordrecht v Sparta Rotterdam and Almere v Roda. The Dordrecht and Almere games could be the best for goals.

In Belgium top-six second-placed Anderlecht face Standard Liege who are top scorers with 16 in seven games. Low-scoring Charleroi take on leaders Bruges while Genk face Gent.

Man United travel to West Ham in the Premier League while Charlton tackle Shrewsbury in the first of the League One semi-finals. In the regular season both teams won 2-0 away and another low scorer is expected.

Decided to go with goals for my only bet on Thursday.

Mls, Been a few weeks but there is a midweek card and all home sides look good

    Have selected 3:

    Atlanta
    Lafc
    Toronto

    9/4 Treble

Toronto are starting to hit form after focusing on the champions league and play a repeat of the mls final last two gears against Seattle who are so out of form and are in need of a result to get their season going, will be tough game but Toronto extra quality should get the win

Atlanta have been the most impressive team this season which shows as cureently the fav to win mls, they host kansas tonight who have had some impressive results of their own but Atlanta are red hot and will take something special to stop them

Lafc have started their debut season well and they should be able to take care of Minnesota who always struggle away.

    Double up on the Danes

Two Danish sides who I fancy to take advantage of some poor form. AB Kopenhagen head to Lyseng who have lost four of their last six, and conceded 2+ in all but one loss this season. Kopenhagen have been in decent form winning 4 of their 7 on the road in the relegation group and should produce another win tonight.

Double them up with Hvidovre at home to Marienlyst. The visitors have lost seven of their 10 promotion group games, losing five of their last six on the road. Their one win in those six was against bottom fo the pack Sydvest. Hvidovre are head and shoulders above the rest of the group here. With a 9 point gap, their goal difference is 43:13, with the next best record 25:16.

    Hvidovre IF
    AB Copenhagen

Cash out was up to £2323 Mr F.

Cashed out half my bet for the £1162, letting the rest run. So waiting on Athletico/Real for £3450 now. Had to get something back for the bet and won’t be as sore now if it loses.

    • maccathered 6 years ago

Best bet would wait until Athletico win the uefa cup then cashout,no point leaving money on a loser.

    • davisam 6 years ago

Haha anything can happen in either final, both are still favourites though.

Salah is off the boil now anyway, blanked in his last 3 and Klopp calling him a diver :-p (joking obviously).

      Hala

    • maccathered 6 years ago

You will know more or less what to do before kick off anyway, the money at the moment is going on Liverpool, but its early days,Madrid are 6/5 and Liverpool are 2/1,if i were a neautral that 6/5 would be very appealing indeed and the 2/1 on Liverpool would put me off backing them and this is exactly what the bookies are doing, they are setting a trap and it’s wether you want to fall into it,you will know even more 1 or two hours before kick off because when the big money starts piling on the lines will move accordingly and its just a case of following the masses.

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

For me it’s a 50-50 final – doesn’t matter what the masses say.

    • maccathered 6 years ago

Of course it matters mr f when the sharps start lumping its usually a good indicator,Madrid have already started the minds games, with one of their ex players stating it will be a piece of cake for Madrid.

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

The market isn’t always right. For finals, especially this one, it’s all about who turns up on the night.
That’s not easy to predict – most people except you in this case can make a case for either team winning.

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

Just back from the golf – good decision. As you say you don’t want to end up with nothing.

Afternoon gents – its the continent too from me and heading back to my old stomping ground – Estonian Esiliiga A.

Tartu Santos v Rakvere Tarvas KO 5pm

The visitors travel here in great shape having won their last 6 games and have collected 22 points from the last 24 available. They play struggling Santos who are have just 8 points after 11 games. Their home form has picked up recently though and they have netted in 15 of their last 16 games. Tarvas should be too good though and win this by a couple of goals. They have conceded in 13 of their last 15 games and that will give Santos some encouragement. Both teams on the score sheet here with Tarvas running out 3-1 winners

Back over 3.5 match goals 4/5 (Bet365) (NAP)

  18. HullShaker 6 years ago

    Afternoon gents,

Alas, some of us have jobs to do whilst Craneguy swans around the Chocolate Starfish Seafront Bar in his crotchless leather bathing suit – but it’s not all doom and gloom with a decent card to keep us occupied…

REIPAS VS. KORSO UNITED (1730 KO):

Reipas are off to a flyer with 9 points out of a possible 9 in the Finnish Kolkomen League – during those initial 3 games, they have scored a total of 16 goals with wins of 0-5, 3-1 and 1-6.

That most recent average of 5.3 goals per game is bourne out over time with Reipas’ games hitting 5-4-7-4-10-3-5-6-6-0-5-3-4-1-3-9-4-2-7-4-8-2-3-5 match goals in a 12 month spell.

Their opponents – Korso – have gained just 3 points from their opening three games with 2 losses and a win and it is that 2nd loss that intetests me here; they were beaten 1-0 at home by JoKi…7 days after mein hosts walloped the very same JoKi side 1-6 away from home.

CHARLTON ATHLETIC VS. SHREWSBURY TOWN (1945 KO):

Leg One of the League One playoff tie and although I hate backing ‘unders’ bets, this one looks destined to finish a low scorer…

10 of Charltons last 12 games saw less than 3 goals whilst 5 of Shrewsbury’s own last 6 matched that figure. Both of this seasons H2H’s were 2-0’s and with more at stake now, it ought to be even tighter.

Add into the mix that 1st legs invariably see much less action than the 2nd part of the majority of ties and that these playoff matches are so often played under extreme pressure conditions, I’m edging towards the following with low stakes:

    DRAW…2/1
    ??

    CORRECT SCORE 0-0…9/2
    ?

    Good luck

BARRANQUILLA VS. ONCE CALDAS (2100 KO):

Colombian Cup action here and the hosts face a big task to claw back the 0-2 defecit after the first leg.

Once Caldas are the better team and are more than capable of scoring again (the 1/2 odds on them doing so reflects the bookies thoughts on this) but Barranquilla have nothing to lose and will be throwing everything at them which will in turn open up their own defence to the Caldas attack.

Barranquilla have netted in every one of their last 14 home games and I suspect there may well be value in the following:

It’s a sad day tomorrow – the final round of fixtures in French Ligue 2 ??????????????????????????

Been another great season following this league, especially the last few months on total goals

Posting these now as it will likely shorten – again I think the bookies are being generous. We saw 34 goals last week and the last round of matches in the last two seasons have seen 36 goals and 38 goals

Markets have been set at :

    32+ Goals 5/6 ( NAP )
    34+ Goals 11/8

Will post full write up tomorrow – as its the last round will also be on first half goals, and goals before 10 mins and 30 mins

    • alex_mufc83 6 years ago

Is it only Sky who do that total goals offer Greg ?

  40. leroy 6 years ago

A lot of the games being played deep down under look intriguing for goals at your typical skinny prices. However, two that I am reasonably sweet on might be worth a go.

    Port Melbourne U20 v Melbourne Knights U20
Western Strikers v Adelaide Blue Eagles

    O2.5 Match Goals Double @ 8/11 (Bet365)
    ___________________________________

At 10:30am some Aussie Sheilah’s step out for Logan Lightning and Michelton. O2.5MG is priced up extraordinarily short (1/9) but with both sides averaging nearly 6 goals per game in their opening 12 games each, it might be worth catching in-play.

    Quevilly Rouen v Lorient

I seem to remember the final day in the French Ligue 2 throwing up some real drama last season as someone snatched a last minute promotion (something like that). This year, there are similar permutations with 4 sides realistically battling it out for two remaining playoff spots and three sides looking to escape relegation, or at least make the relegation play-off.

Quevilly Rouen need a win to keep their hopes of reaching that relegation play-off alive. Problem is they are visited by Lorient who know a win themselves will ensure a playoff berth should Brest or Le Havre drop points and Clermont fail to overtake them on goal difference.

That to me means an open game. I’ve followed Greg on the goals total each week but once again Sky Bet have moved the line higher – this time to 32+ goals. I’ve just seen him NAP it though, so I’ll likely still follow! ;) But for now I’m taking the chance that Quevilly can bag despite their erratic scoring form with the stakes being so high.

    Half Stake:

    BTTS & O2.5 Match Goals @ 10/11 (Bet365)
