Leagues Tipped: ,

IT'S my first Xmas do on Friday night but don't worry all the Saturday write-ups are scheduled and the tips picked out.

We've chosen not a bad day as I don't think Millwall v Nottm Forest will tempt anyone away from the bar and round the corner to the big TV. And there are no games in Scotland to catch my attention.

On the Continent there are some decent matches though including Villarreal v Atletico Madrid, Inter v Roma and Eintracht Frankfurt v Hertha Berlin.

French Ligue 2 goals usually attract the attention of Greg and others but no games tonight although there are Dutch Eerste fixtures to look at as well as Ajax v Willem II in the top flight. Leaders Ajax should win this by at least two having beaten their opponents 4-0 and 4-1 in their last two at home.

Atletico are looking to bounce back from Lionel Messi's late goal that gave Barcelona the points last week and this fixture is usually tight. Looks an away win or more likely draw.

Surprise Serie A leaders Inter will have their title credentials seriously tested by Roma. The build-up to the match has been overshadowed by the “Black Friday” newspaper heading alongside images of Romelu Lukaku and Chris Smalling – ironically the tone of the article was anti-racism but they got the heading all wrong.

Both sides score plenty and nine of the last 10 meetings have seen both score so that could be the shout or possibly Inter and both to score.

Eintracht have lost three in a row but suffered just one defeat at home and should beat a Hertha side with no points out if 15 from their last five road trips.

In Ligue One Lille will be on a high after winning at Lyon as they welcome Brest. Lille remain unbeaten at home while we saw the best of Brest last weekend when they stunned Strasbourg 5-0. Could see both scoring here.

Lyon face a Nimes side who fared worse than Strasbourg by being thrashed 6-0 by Bordeaux. This a great chance for Lyon to recover from their unlucky defeat against Lille and this should be an away win.

From the main games I've picked a treble and wouldn't put anyone off looking at goals specials in Holland.

On Thursday I posted a double and while both to score at Arsenal v Brighton landed, Newcastle performed what the BBC described as the “smashiest and grabiest” of wins at Sheffield United.

Well done to all the winners including Greg and others who backed corners at the Emirates and also HullShaker with his Nap.

2pts Top Treble

  • Ajax & over 2.5 match goals (7.15pm)
  • Eintracht Frankfurt (7.30pm)
  • Inter v Roma btts (7.45pm)
  • (29-10, Ladbrokes)

    Friday A league tips
2nd plays bottom today and to me the bookies have priced this as if it’s last seasons premiers Perth that will be in action, not this seasons pale imitation. City look good value for me here and I think there will be goals. City’s last 6 league matches have all seen btts +over 2.5 mgs with 4 of this going over 3.5mgs so it’s no surprise I’ll be starting off with that. While in no sort of form Perth have still managed to find the net in every game so far apart from last week, but the victory are a lot tighter at the back than city. Goals look good for me.
    Advised tips
    Btts/o2.5mgs 21/20 bet 365
    City win/o2,5mgs 11/5 bet 365
    City o1.5tgs EVENS bet 365

    Get these up for Friday night in case if price drops;

    Eintracht Frankfurt v Hertha Berlin

    All 3 games O1.5 MGls
    3 POINTS

    (1.18/1, William Hill)
Dinamo Zagreb have failed to see 4 or more goals in 12/16 of their league matches so far, even better for us is that reads a crazy 6/7 going under the 4 goal line when they play at home.
Visitors Varazdim’s record reads 13/17 in overall league matches and 5/8 when on the road, better though is that their last 9 games in a row have failed to breach 4 or more goals.

Boavista have yet to see a match out of 12 so far that has went 4 or more in the goals department, Benfica on the other hand have a record of 8/12 matches going under 4 or more and on their travels that reads 4/5.

I’m already focusing on Celtic vs Rangers on Sunday. I tend to find this is the best time to hit Bet365 before their prices change, especially when it comes to bet builders. I can def see at least one red in this game and it may well come from someone Bet365 didn’t have in mind. It’s a final so this will be probably the most heated match there has been in years. I was even more delighted to see Willie Collum was the referee for the game. You know that way you get a hunch and you just feel that something is going to happen? I really believe that either Allan McGregor or Fraser Forster will be sent off on Sunday. I don’t have any great reasoning but all it takes is for something to happen. A sceptical bet yes but I had to laugh when I was checking the prices. I mean I really don’t know where some bookies get their prices from. Allan McGregor to be sent off is 10/1 with Skybet. I mean seriously 10/1? The same bookie even goes 20/1 for Morelos to be sent off. Now I know Morelos has been behaving lately but there’s absolutely no way that Allan McGregor is twice as likely to be sent off than Morelos, or is he? Anywhere I went over to Bet365 to find that Allan McGregor is 80/1 to be sent off. They offer 80/1 for Fraser Forster too. I’ve backed both. Anyway let me know if any of you guys like the look of any of these bets or any betbuilders.

Allan McGregor to be sent off @ 80/1

Fraser Forster to be sent off @ 80/1

Morelos and Brown sent off @ 600/1

Morelos and Brown sent off and Edouard to score anytime @ 1500/1

    Good luck everyone

    • mr h 10 months ago

With Brown & Morales more likely to score than be sent off what about spreading the angle and taking a Morales goal with Brown red card and vice versa. No too sure how the odds would be though just a thought

    • jimba 10 months ago

I’m definitely doing Brown atgs on sunday should be decent odds👍

    • duncanpoundcake 10 months ago

Jumped on Celtic to win outright at Evens weeks ago, just cant look past them, the stats say Celtic should win this.

    • bobo 10 months ago

Good write up chris with some huge odds!
I am probably go a little bit more conservative once team news appears but if Rangers play Flannagan again i will be having a punt on him getting booked as he will be out of his depth with any of Celtic’s wingers running at him for 90 mins plus Kent does not have the temperament for this kind of game.
Broony and Morelos looked nailed on once again to get booked so i will be most likely on the usual suspects but let’s see the team news first!

    • Here2Win79 10 months ago

Brown is permitted to do what he likes on the field of play and not receive red, it’s written in to Scots law. Kent and or morelos to get red looks much more viable.

    • hudson 10 months ago

@andyhibs I’d be interested to know which stats say Celtic should win the final? I am sure you are not taking previous seasons into account when rangers were a pale imitation of the team you see this season – IMO it’s a coin flip and cards is probably the way forward

    • Mr Fixit 10 months ago

I agree could go either way which possibly makes Rangers value at double the price.
Celtic have won so many matches at Hampden recently I can see why they’re clear favourites but if Rangers turn up it will be tight.

    • andyhibs 10 months ago

Celtic have won the treble treble and no one else has come close to them, Rangers defence has been questionable for months and Gerrard still doesnt know his best back 4, Rangers overall record against Celtic since being reformed is atrocious.

    • andyhibs 10 months ago

I think you will also find the standard outside the top 2 has dropped considerably this season aswell.

    • chris guy 10 months ago

Mr h it’s a good shout, odds are

Morelos sent off and Brown to score @ 200/1
Brown sent off and Morelos to score @ 66/1

    • chris guy 10 months ago

Jimba goalscorers are what I mainly get on and I’ve already been thinking about backing Brown so good shout.

    • chris guy 10 months ago

Dincanpoundcake agreed. Brown and Jack at 1000/1 is also a contender

    • chris guy 10 months ago

Bobo thanks and yes I think Morelos Brown and Kent are definite starters. We’ve already seen Kent become frustrated during a previous encounter.

    • hudson 10 months ago

      @andyhibs 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

    • Mr Fixit 10 months ago

There’s every chance of a sending off and so many contenders.
McGregor is much more likely to go than Forster and while Morelos has behaved this season he’s bound to be wound up by Brown and others.
At the odds your tips are worth small stakes but of course any player could go and Willie Collum’s been a bit less hasty in flashing reds this season.

    • andyhibs 10 months ago

Callum McGregor to be carded 9/2 Skybet.

    • mr h 10 months ago

Here2win Alan MacGregor has a free pass more than anyone, some of his challenges in the last year or two have been hideous. Give me an instance were Scott Brown has went in to a tackle knowingly endangering am opponent? He’s hard but fair, gets kicked up and down the park at every opportunity but just gets up smiles and gets on with it

    • chelseagirl 10 months ago

Any heated incident in a game and Broons big mug is not far away. Listen he is a good player no end but gets involved in far too much and for that reason well and truly the fav for 1st booking. Why did he insist on getting carded in the Europa tie ? Interesting to see how Morelos will behave in this game again deep down a bunnet heid .Most cards in this game should be Blue tho in my opinion.

    Cupla selections for a double

If it looks too good to be true it’s generally a false dawn before the inevitable shortfall but 6/5 for BTTS & o2.5gls in a fixture that finished 4-3 on monday…… that’ll do for me

    Cagliari v Sampdoria BTTS & o2.5gls 6/5✅

Pyramids FC at home in the Egyptian Cup to lower league opposition, backing them to pot 3 at a very good 11/8

    Pyramids FC o2.5tgls 11/8✅

    Double 7/2✅

The days double from Romania Liga II and Turkey liga 1

    FC Arges Pitesti O2.5tgls
    Eskisehirspor v Umraniyespor BTTS & O2.5gls

    26/10 double

    From last night

Going to have a 2 point bet on trubiski touchdown. He’s good in front of goal and scores a few. 10s at 365

    WINNER 🍻 🍻 🍻 🍻 🍻

He’s sharp in from of goal and there she blows. Back of the net

    • mr h 10 months ago

Michu it’s a sport I know nothing about apart from the general rules these days. When I was a follower of NFL Jerry Rice was picking bombs out of the sky at Candlestick Park from Joe Montana for the 49ers so you can tell how long ago it was. Seen Nathan has been very prolific on it recently and there was Jordan who knew his onions. Need to look out for it more when yous post

    • michu in de gea ba 10 months ago

Nathan’s the guru on nfl. Trubiski was due a TD and he had good stats hence my tip but I’ll not post many on nfl. I’ll leave that to Nathan!

  8. pedromacphee 10 months ago

I’m a Scot living in Australia (back for holiday and jet lagged at moment) but saw this article on ABC news. Interesting but not really news I would suggest. Having been interested in what some of the guys have said on here in the past it would appear that the aussie punter is under the impression that the bookies want you to have a fair crack of the whip.

Leaked documents reveal how gambling company stops people winning

    • chris guy 10 months ago

Link no longer working mate. Could be true though. I tried to stick £100 on Kamara to get booked in the Rangers game when Mr Fixit had tipped him. I attempted to place the bet 3 mins before kick off. Message came up referring to traders, eventually agreed on the bet but by that point the game had kicked off and bet was rejected even although game had only kicked off for a few secs

    • Mr Fixit 10 months ago

It’s not news at all. Of course bookies don’t want you to win – they’re businesses trying to make profits for shareholders.
Ninety per cent of punters lose but on this site we aspire to be among the 10 per cent who win.

Good write up on Sundays cup final chris . Your Brown and Morelos red card double is now 750/1 mate . Helander 25/1 to be red carded is worth a small punt imo.
He has been fortunate on a few occasions not be red carded this season .

    • mr h 10 months ago

Cocker I was sitting thinking the exact same thing last night, milk turns quicker than the big Swede. He’ll struggle with the pace and directness of Ryan Christie playing in the no10 position. Reckon he’s a stick on for a card

Yeah . He is clumsy at times mr h

    • chris guy 10 months ago

Nice one mate thanks for pointing that out, quite cheeky that they changed the odds because odds on both individual players has remained the same. Luckily with Bet365 you can cash out full value of bet then just replace the same bet at higher odds. Nice one

      A shade under 2/1 but thats better than a 62/1 loser,innit lol

    • Deano86 10 months ago

Ruiz could win and rangers could lift the trophy but can’t see united winning at city and their my team

    • sean567 10 months ago

Id say the price certainly reflects the odds of those 3 landing macca. not one for me

    • gaz1105 10 months ago

Wouldn’t regard Ruiz victory as a shock in the slightest macca, he’s by far the better boxer of the two, AJ is a myth, hyped up by Eddie Hearn as a cash cow milking the Johnny come lately boxing casual fans and sky box office. Ruiz wins again and 9/4 is well overpriced. Double that with a United double chance for me

    • Here2Win79 10 months ago

Not a boxing fan but I can’t understand why AJ is the favourite. Watched that documentary the other night and saw a guy who’s heart and appetite went the minute he took a sore one. Long tradition of British boxers going to the US and getting their glass jaw shattered. Would love to be wrong as he came across a nice guy (as did Ruiz, refreshing change from all these crap-talkers boxing normally throws up) but Ruiz looks like he has the beating of him. My only worry is that AJ was already talking about a third fight, suggesting Ruiz will throw this one so they can have another payday.

    • andymac1980 10 months ago

What a load of nonsense Gaz! Ruiz by far the better boxer?? Based on what? 1 punch which took out AJ’s equilibrium? His best result before that was a points loss to Parker. Get off the hype train pal! AJ is a superb boxer and well earned champion. 1 off night does not change that and he will win on Saturday with no doubt.

    • Deano86 10 months ago

How is aj a myth lol he’s beaten klitchko, parker, whyte, he’d also beat Wilde in my opinion, only boxer to beat him for me is fury!

    • andyhibs 10 months ago

Joshua to knock out Ruiz in rounds 1-4 6/1 Skybet

    • andyhibs 10 months ago

Deano o think Wilder would knock AJ out i also think Fury would beat him however aswell.

Iv been trying to find out how many matches var has been used in but cant seem to find the stats as of the 2nd of december it had been used in 38 matches in the prem to overturn decisions but what about the rest. It seems like there is a var review in nearly every game and william hill offer 8/11 for a review in any match, I reckon by the end of the season you would be more in profit than not if u backed every match. Any thoughts¿

    • cp007 10 months ago

Probably worth checking the bet rules also as I’d imagine some bookies saying the VAR has to over run the decision and others will just be about it being referred to and highlighted in the ground and on tv
Think you are right though about the 8/11 coming in more often than not
Probably certain leagues where it varies also but depends whether the bookies offer odds on it in those leagues

    • Mr Fixit 10 months ago

I think you’re right. VAR seems to be used in the majority of games.

No joy on the NFL last night as trubisky played more like he did when he first joined the nfl! Still showed his tendency to be the weakness tho as too many time did he throw when coverage had him all day long. Dallas are terrible, think a change of coach is needed.
First double stake loss for a long while but apologies to anyone who followed, lots of good games this weekend and will come out in profit again.
Well done Michu on your trubisky TD, looked great when he started running the ball again, looked a different player to that last week when he chose not to rush 2 yards for a 1st and goal

    • michu in de gea ba 10 months ago

  29. nutbutt 10 months ago

I know Greg you were thinking ahead to last round of fixtures in Brazil on Sunday. Stats are mixed from last 5 seasons
    2018 – 17 goals over 10 matches
    2017 – 30 goals over 10 matches
    2016 – 21 goals over 9 matches (1 abandoned)
    2015 – 21 goals over 10 matches
    2014 – 26 goals over 10 matches

Neither Over 1.5 or Over 2.5 match goals landed across all games in any of the years either

Anybody contesting why Celtic are favourites on Sunday are either biased or drunk….

8 league titles in a row
9 domestic trophies in a row
11 wins on the spin including home & away victories against the side sitting 3rd in Italy
2 highest total of points in the Europa League group stages

Did someone mention that teams of previous seasons were pale imitations of this seasons side? Well let’s hope for Rangers sake that the brighter edition of Rangers turns up rather than the pair imitation that reared its ugly head in the previous meeting at Ibrox back in September

Personally confident for Sunday with the Rangers backline struggling to cope with the pace and movement of Celtics forwards

    • Alves 10 months ago

Add 30 domestic cup games on the trot wi an aggregate of suhin daft like 95-11

    • mr h 10 months ago

Alves even if Rangers win on Sunday which is highly likely as they are a good outfit but 1 cup win won’t cut the mustard if Celtic seal 9 in a row. Enjoy the game fella

    • maccathered 10 months ago

All whilst Rangers were out of the league lol

    • Mr Fixit 10 months ago

Historical stats aren’t relevant. Fact is both sides this season have been evenly matched.

    • mr h 10 months ago

Macca you’re commenting on something with nothing to back up your 💩 statement. I think you’ll find that Rangers have been back in the top league for the preceding 3yrs before this season. Do man Utds titles hold any less significance when their rivals City were in the lower leagues? Thought not

    • mr h 10 months ago

Historical stats aren’t relevant but the previous 10 H2H were called into action to substantiate the Inter v Roma BTTS pick above 👆

    • Mr Fixit 10 months ago

Yeah but that’s only over a few seasons not 8 years.
Anyway this is a tipping site and not a Celtic or Rangers fans’ forum so could everyone please remember that.

    • sean567 10 months ago

We’ll see how evenly matched they are once they’ve played the same set of fixtures. There’s no disputing 1 side have had tougher away games so far and we’ll get a clearer picture around winter break time

All of the above is HISTORY mate. Sunday is a cup final and Celtics last v Hearts was hardly convincing. However do agree that Rangers defence will have to sharpen up.

    • maccathered 10 months ago

No cocker we don’t talk about our history lol

    • andyhibs 10 months ago

In agreement, the standard of the league has alot to do with the top 2s fortunes this season, i cant see past a Celtic win, it was proved when they played each other at Ibrox that there is still a gulf in class.

    • mr h 10 months ago

In any given fixture the H2H stats are history, last week’s results are history and even Wednesday night is history but it has a bearing on the projected results of any given fixture. So the thought that historical or previous H2H meetings are irrelevant is a load of old tosh….

    • Mr Fixit 10 months ago

I think you can go back too far sometimes when line-ups, managers, etc have changed.
I generally look at six-game form and a glance at the h2hs.

5.6-1 ags treble for anyone with a Mcbookie account:
Nisbet, in hot form, Dunfermline, home v Morton tomorrow + Nicky Clark, Dundee Utd, revenge mission v Alloa and team news indicates Shankland won’t be risked from the start making Clark the primary striker, from where he’s done well in Shankland’s absence; finally drop down a division for Calum Gallagher, Airdrie, in good scoring form although Raith have a meaner defence so maybe perm 2 from 3.

@mrfix @greg and all GB pals here I heard here in lagos, Nigeria that 3pm EPL Saturday games (sometimes 4pm in Nigeria) is not shown on UK TV. That they don’t even show highlights until about 10pm…. Is it true? And if YES, WHY

    • mr h 10 months ago

Don’t quote me but my understanding is that no live games are permitted between 15:00 & 17:15 UK time on a Saturday when there’s a league card on. Something to do with affecting the attendance at other league games

    • Mr Fixit 10 months ago

      That’s correct.

    • gokeadeniyi12@gmail.com 10 months ago

I won’t quote you @mr h… Come to think of it @mr h, games being shown on TV does not affect attendance. In fact, I think it increases it. Watching on TV makes people want to experience what it is like live.

I heard the club chairmen were afraid people will stop coming to stadiums when live games started on TV. And attendance to them was the main revenue source then.

But I think there is a shift going on now… We’ve moved past all that. I heard Bournemouth made £11m from gates last season. They made £120m from TV rights.

    • Mr Fixit 10 months ago

Nonsense really. TV generally affects gates but of course some games will sell out and Bournemouth is bad example due to their small stadium.

    Friday nite goals tips
    Ajax -2 10/11 bet 365 NAP
    Inter v Roma btts/ o2.5 mgs 10/11 NB

Ajax have covered this handicap in all but 1 of their home league games this season (a 2-0 win) and have scored 28 goals averaging 4 a game. Going for more of the same tonight. Think they will be looking to put this game away as early as possible tonight and get players rested for tuesdays huge CL match.

Inter v roma has seen this land in 4/6 h2h and has been especially prominent in inter games this season- 11 times in the last 13 matches. Roma have a few out injured tonight and I fancy inter to take this so them to win btts and/or win and over 2.5mgs are both good options in my eyes as well. I’ll be on those 2 for smaller stakes as well as a NBstake for btts/o2.5

Evening lads just a heads up
On the 17th december Liverpool play Villa in the EFL cup,now i pointed this out a month or so ago and took Villa at 8/11.Villa are now 1/7,Jurgen Klopp has named his 23 man squad for Qatar and he is taking all the senior players and there will be NO first teamers playing against Villa hence they are 1/7.My advice is take -2,-2.5 asian handicap at 1.900 as Villa will obviously play a first team and they should be winning by 5 or 6 at least.

Quick question on a special boost if anyone can shine a bit of light on it!

Sky bet have deli ali 2+shots on target and van dyke 2+ tackles @ 12/1. Seems big to me although what exactly do they class as a tackle?

    • mr h 10 months ago

For me it’s any ball that’s contested between 2 opposing players….whether that’s a 50/50 or general contact inplay I don’t know. For stats on VVD’s tackles per match stats you’d be best served waiting for his input although I’m not sure on qualifying statistics incase missing teams alter the perspective of stats

Tackle is when a player goes to ground and wins possesion, hate these bets but a always get suckered in wi the prices 😂

    • mr h 10 months ago

Mark again I’ll ask for no quotes but from what I can gather VVD has 134 EPL appearances and 173 tackles that equates to approximately 1.33 tackles per match unless I’m mistaken
